Things should be all good to go for adventure mode. Portraits are a bit limited for right now and your carrying capacity in adventure mode is pretty low so I recommend getting a pack animal or a friend.
The Greyworked Hunters can be used to carry stuff for you and can also be chosen as a party member to save on embark points.

I think I have a roundabout way for them to make gauntlets.
Won't be as simple as just crafting them at the forge more like retrofitting boots for hands.
I'll give it some tests this weekend.

Hey glad you like the mod.

I'll have to think about how to handle that one, I don't usually have many others besides the cats in my fortress so I didn't think about it.

Maybe I can come up with some thematic way for them to make gauntlets.

really cool mod! haven't had any issues and the only thing i would note is that since they are so weak i found it useful to have other races join the fort to be in the militia, but was annoyed that i couldnt make gauntlets for them. it does make sense for them to not be able to (and might be confusing to players who dont know that they dont need gauntlets), but it would be a nice qol thing if they could.

hmm okay I'll have to keep a look out when immigrants come in.
I suppose there isn't anything stopping the immigrants from generating with non totem weapons, not sure if thats even something I can change.

i have yet to see ANY immagrints in my last 3 waves because 5 furballs are being angry about life but when i was getting em i had grimalkins entirly in attempt to aid recovery i DID allow a human bard to reside in the fort.

Funnily enough I actually hadn't done a lot of totem making in my game so I don't know which animal would be the fastest to farm for skulls.
Initially my intentions were to make all weapons require the totem process but I messed up the reactions so they ended up being able to make totem weapons straight from the forge.

Out of curiosity, are your immigrants more cats or other races?
I know merchant guards will show up with non totem weapons but I didn't notice regular immigrants doing so.

hm any advisable critter whom i can turnt he skulls in mass into totems, i find my immagrants got plenty of non totemed weapons i just need skulls

no more so the males thing is common DF shinigans. i jus quick started and often it will be random set on the odd a breeding pair of critrters.

no male leopards or male war leopards on embark?
I'm still not sure how the use_any_pet_race tag but it might have something to do with the creatures in the area of the map you settled in maybe?
If its just no male war leopards that might be something else happening there.
Never really messed with animal breeding myself outside of normal farm creatures but I would think you could breed hunting animals.

a thing to note, when ya speak of the pets HOLY GOD do i have a zoos worth of flavor. i do want to breed war lepards. but dont got males on embark :P thinkfully my home will bring some in the marrow so i can breed em or do hunting animals not breed

if all goes well my mines are gonna be safly punched though the aquafer and get my by and ill have a native ramp for mine cart use (yes i want to do that no crazy tricks yet) and i will have a decent way to get stone and ore. and fromt here ill build above ground. as smart as a close top build is i want an open top one. make it like a odd river town side fact this world has one of the 2 grimalkin civs ON AN ISLAND! not a small island just an island of fair size. i may later build a port town for that civ.

well once i get around to it i already got a game lined for the felines. hm im gonna be building out in the open settlements tyle but have one large mine because res gains. (though my map has aquafer so getting that sucker silanced is annoying me :P)

Thanks for the heads up.

Turns out by having regular axes and the totem axes in the entity file it would randomly pick one as default when you generate the world, which is then used for embarks.

I just removed the regular axes so you should start with totem axes on quick embark now.
You'll have to generate a new world for this to take effect though.

You could call it furry adjacent. I like Dwarf Fortress to be kinda goofy and a bunch of magical cats trying to run a society fit the bill for me.

They mature quickly. No baby stage and become adults at 5 years.
From what I've seen while playing they don't seem to reproduce a lot. I think I only had 3-4 births over a 3-4 year time period.

Since they're cats, does this mean they reproduce and grow up even faster than kobolds?
