Kronos Bach a peasant would choose a Republic more than his own monarchy, because they know the pain they suffer and they would try end with that.
By other hand, if is an ambitious leader he can choose a monarchy rather than a republic, so he can held the power.
Is a good idea.

Is this HIP compatible?

Hmm. What if the leader of a Peasant Republic could choose between seizing their own county as a monarchy or establishing a Republic?

Ambitious would lean more towards monarchy? Idk it's justa dumb idea

I casually discovered that you've put it as a decision for I guess rulers with "peasant leader" (because I've played as one). Wouldn't it be better to put more filters to the decision so that it won't be taken by all the revolerts? Or does it already function like that?

@Deng
I think he takes the idea from the fact that historically the lower classes support authoritative, action based populism whereas the "sophisticated" nobility often prefer to maintain the status quo.
This is how Socialist & Nationalist countries will gain support. Appealing to the lowest classes and promising them uplifting action.
Whilst the peasant generally supported authority to be taken, that doesn't mean that they would knowingly support unprincipled tyrannies.

@RelationshipGeorge "Historically speaking; peasants wanted monarchies while nobles wanted republics." Where did you get this idea lmao

this is cool as. maybe you can have this ramp up in the late middle ages to spice up the late game. Maybe in italy especially you have some events and what not

This mod tries to emulate the very interesting occurrence of autonomous peasant republics or, in the parlance of the time, communes. Very interesting and quite on point. May I try to expand upon your work?

Historically speaking; peasants wanted monarchies while nobles wanted republics.

It would be more fitting if there was a political faction to turn a kingdom into a republic, but nonetheless it's an interesting mod.

Any chance they could form anarcho-syndicalist communes?

I have not tried to load it mid campaign, but the way I implemented it, you should be fine. just create a backup to be sure (:

I always thought it was a bit...off how some peasants would elevate themselves into nobility after presumably revolting against the concept itself. I don't think that NO peasants wanted to do this, or even accomplished this, but every single successful revolt? Doesn't strike me as plausible, although my knowledge of the middle ages is admittedly lacking.

Regardless of my rambling, well done with this mod! Would I need to start a new campaign to use this, or can I install this mid-campaign?

This is a touch more historical than you think. Nice mod!
