I'm working on an updated version and was wondering if I'm allowed to upload it to the Workshop or not? I'm re-using the pics since a lot of work went into those and it would be a shame to lose them. Besides that, I'll be starting from scratch but using this mod as a reference. Full credit will be given of course. I know that you have no problem with people tweaking it for their own use but wasn't sure about this type of situation.

Hi there. Haven't played Stranded for a long while now so I don't know if it still works, but as said above, blanket permission for folks to redo it better (or get it working with something it doesn't). It's just a character mod, so it should work with scenarios just fine - unless that scenario forces certain characters.

Can this be used with the Trading Outpost scenario?

Some traits may have come out since you made this which would make these guys more like they are in the series.

Book could have 2X farming and Exquisite Chef since he learned these at his abbey.

Simon and River Tam should definitely have the genius trait. It's the core of who they are.

River can shoot people without looking at them. She should have sniper and rapid fire skills, balanced by frequent meltdowns, not indifference.

Jayne and Zoe should have fighting skills. (Sniper & 2X fire.)

Exquisite Chef could represent Inara's tea ceremonies.

Wash is pretty much spot on. Too bad his flying skill doesn't really translate into the game.

Yeah I am the same as CaptainFlint, saw this on their twitter and I am so glad I did. Best mod for any game ever :P Before I even got to gameplay of my first playthrough I was thinking "man, I just want to use the Firefly characters" :D

No. Any additional crew members you get will be from the starting list. The only way to do it would be to use the "no default characters" mod, and remove any other modded character mods apart from this one. That would basically give you just these 9 characters to choose from and mean any "found" members would also draw from that list.

You're right about happy go lucky. Works if you have Jacko, but not if you don't. I've copied the trait and pulled it into the mod, so when I update it, it should be fixed. I think Simon being a pacifist is a much better fit too.

I dug in more. The "Happy go Lucky" is added as part of the Game Dev's survivor mod, so I suspect it can get copied over, or inherited from the other mod? (New survivor Jacko)

When I make updates it is saved locally, so none of my tweaks (adding favorite foods, etc) effect the mod version that is on steam. I would imagine that as long as the mod I am loading is the "local" one rather than the one from Steam Workshop, your changes would not overwrite the local edits I made.

The icons in the mod manager look different depending on where it is loaded from (a disk for local, the Steam icon for cloud). That makes it easy to see what data is loaded.

Thanks Pwarky. I really could have used a list of traits and their meaning when I put the mod together! But I figured putting the mini guide as to how to mod it would make it easier. That way all people can have their cake and eat it. If anyone knows what happens if I update the mod I'd be grateful to know. (i.e. Do my edits wipe out personal edits people have made to the mod?)

Wash has a missing trait "Happy go Lucky" and Simon should have the pacifist trait rather than the combat being skill locked from the skills tree. (Same effect, but better fit lore wise)

Tweaking the mod is pretty easy with the guide you wrote though, excited to give them a try!

@Harlequin565: If you don't mind posting a short "how to thread" on how to change the hair tint in the mod editor I'd be happy to mess around with it and find the correct tint values for both Kaylee and Inara (Her hair is quite a lot lighter than her avatar) and pass along the values to make your next update faster/easier?

Thanks harleqquin565 for this mod, yes it was a great show. I don't know what they were thinking when they cancel that series. Would love to see it brought back but I Know its just wishful thinking.

@injto4ka I realised that when my Vera achievement popped the other day!
@Silveressa Hair colour is a nightmare as it seems to render much lighter than the colour picker would indicate. I'm not sure if the ambient light is brightening it somehow. I'll try and darken it for the next update.

It's funny, because the game was vastly inspired by these series :)

Book has a decent fighting skill already and as Fallout Guy says, you can mod the mod quite easily.
Agree with Simon though. Will make the change in a few days once more comments have come through.

Also, Book was a real able fighter, having served in the military for quite a few years!

Excellent. It's the easiest entry into modding I've come across. Being able to play any game your way is a real eye opener. Glad folks are enjoying it.

Great job you have done I loved the TV series and was upset when they cancelled. I have gone into the mod and enhanced their stats so they are significant cut above the average colonist, trader or military just like in the real Firefly series.

Love the idea :) Just awesome!

I have no idea with Summer. All I know is that the hardest bit of doing this is getting images that will cut easily in PS and approximate the same headshot look in the original game portraits. That's what took the most time! I did start trying to look at Starship Troopers but those less famous personalities don't have many usable headshots online.
