Steam workshop love to trick everyone if not watching it

Dr. Thrax, good catch. I don't think anyone has reported that specific issue before. I'm not sure how that got changed at some point, but the steamWorkshopUrl was pointing to Harmony instead of Rimnauts 2.

Mind, that shouldn't have caused any actual issues because dependencies work solely off of the Package ID, but the link was incorrect if you clicked on it.

Still unable to recreate issues people have reported of having the mod request the wrong version of EM Metals though. The links are extremely straightforward: In 1.4 it requests mod 2259837114 which is EM Metals (Old Version) and in 1.5 it requests 3333419387 which is the new version of EM Metals.

In any case, I think Rimnauts 2 is probably going to be quite broken for quite a long time due to the arrival of Odyssey and 1.6, so we'll see what the future of this mod looks like as it comes. Hopefully any folks still playing in 1.5 can continue to enjoy it.

This mod need be re look at because still broken asking for Mode id=2009463077 but the id=2880599514 RimNauts 2

Yeah, I dunno what to tell you LZIM. I don't see/experience that issue and can't recreate it. If you have EM:Metals and this mod installed, then this mod just needs EM:Metals and it doesn't complain about it. I'm not sure why it's telling you you don't have that mod.
LZIM 12. juni kl. 18:40
*** important, It still works I was just pointing out the error shown on the mod list when that mod is selected
LZIM 12. juni kl. 18:39
subbed to the second one.. though with 1.6 it is moot for the time being sadly
Jiopaba  [ophavsmand] 12. juni kl. 9:04
@LZIM Are you sure you have the right version installed then? If you say you have Expanded Materials Metals, is it "argon.vmeu" or "argon.expandedmaterials.metals?"

At a guess, you're using the old version located here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2259837114

You need to update to the modern/1.5 EM-M which is located here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3333419387
LZIM 9. juni kl. 8:36
Still shows as missing dependency (in rimpy and in game) when Expanded Materials - Metals in enabled.

argon.expandedmaterials.metals
Jiopaba  [ophavsmand] 2. apr. kl. 10:45
@Mayonnaise Not quite. This mod has "modDependenciesByVersion" specified. If you're playing in 1.4 it requires argon.vmeu. If you're playing in 1.5 it requires Argon.ExpandedMaterials.Metals.
mayonnaise 1. apr. kl. 14:15
this requires the wrong version of VMEU in it's About.xml; might want to change it to avoid confusion xD

the version of Expanded Materials currently updated has it's mod ID set as argon.expandedmaterials.metals; whereas your mod is looking for argon.vmeu.

hope this helps!

@Jiopaba: Amazing, thank you so much! 😄 That already 35+ people had subscribed to it when i checked i out means i wasn't the only one wishing for it. 💚
Jiopaba  [ophavsmand] 28. mar. kl. 10:18
@Snuggl Done, and uploaded. I was going to just explain to you how easy it was to make, but then I was staring at it and gave it a big shrug. It took me five times longer to make the background image and get an Iron and Gold asteroid to spawn to test it than it did to actually make the patch. It converts Steel to Iron and Gold to Mineable Gold so they both need to be processed. It might still be getting scanned, but it'll be available on my profile in a bit.
Snuggl 27. mar. kl. 20:54
Need this mod but for Medieval Overhaul. That mod makes it so you mine iron and have to melt iron ingots to get steel. The asteroids should give iron instead of steel directly. 🤔

Of course, if and whenever you have time. I would do it myself but i have no experience in modding RimWorld. I tried using the mod RIMMSqol but it won't let me change what material it yields, only the name and some other values.

I am using 1.5 and you are right, in the game there is no issue. Damn, take care! Your life comes first there's no need to say sorry.
Jiopaba  [ophavsmand] 4. okt. 2024 kl. 19:14
Hey, @RocketRacoon are you using 1.4 or 1.5? It's version dependent now so if you have the new version it should require the new one for 1.5.

Unfortunately my house got smashed in the Hurricane a week ago so it may be a few weeks before I can get at my files to look at if, sorry.
RocketRacoon 30. sep. 2024 kl. 2:32
Hello again, looks like this mod is making the game throw endless null reference exception https://gist.github.com/HugsLibRecordKeeper/e949f2eec661050a827382797cad87af . Could you take a look please? Removing this mod fixes the issue
RocketRacoon 27. sep. 2024 kl. 0:24
Hello, on steam old version is still listed as a requirement
Jiopaba  [ophavsmand] 26. sep. 2024 kl. 15:41
@LZIM Took a bit longer than I expected because I was working nights for a week there, but it should now be updated for the proper EM Metals.

Anyone who is still using 1.4 EM Metals on 1.5 should delete the 1.5 folder for this mod to maintain compatibility. There's not any easy way to support both because of breaking changes in the names and metals provided, and I highly recommend everyone upgrade to the new EM Metals for 1.5.
Jiopaba  [ophavsmand] 19. sep. 2024 kl. 17:18
I'm not actually certain yet! I'll see if I can find some free time to boot it up tomorrow probably and check it out. I believe the list of available metals has changed if nothing else, so even if they still generate and can be used largely the same I'll need to check that out.
LZIM 19. sep. 2024 kl. 16:46
EM M appears to have been updated to 1.5 does this patch also need to be updated to use that version ?
LZIM 19. sep. 2024 kl. 16:45
Should have replied 22 mar.. but yeah, seeing as how Spacex still isnt helping us to properly answer this question IRL.. or China or india.. in theory they and Russia etc would bring life to the addage that space is closer than crossing borders, when considering that being a pariah state in the global economy means it's easier or justifiable economically, to develop space rather than deal with other factions you arent friendly with assuming you have at least soviet level technology and an expansionist spirit but again.. not the political will or economic motivation to practice diplomacy with other factions/nations

So for RW, balance > I might as well SRTS to a NEO and mine stuff I cant buy because i'm enemies with everyone.. or its just easier than caravaning.
Jiopaba  [ophavsmand] 22. mar. 2023 kl. 8:11
Balance as in does it seem worth the amount of effort to actually go up and mine these, or does it seem like too much perhaps? It's more resource intensive than mining on the planet using a Deep Drill or Mineral Scanner, but overall you can get an absolute ton of resources. Even with the numbers here and in RimNauts itself scaled back quite a bit recently, you can still expect to get tens of thousands of any resource that you care to go up and mine.

You basically pay a cost in Steel, Components, and Chemfuel to ship them back if you use the large pod launcher. Obviously some things are more or less efficient. Like, it takes a lot of resources to ship back huge amounts of Lead, but it's very easy to bring back insane amounts of Copper or Lithium (because they're very light.)
LZIM 21. mar. 2023 kl. 18:30
Please define balance. (Not ironically). Added a mod to just increase metal yields from mining before finding this mod, which is in addition to focusing hard on mining skill manipulation multitools because vanilla is one game, adding vfe ce srts etc you just need more materials than base game provides.
Phill Meup 18. mar. 2023 kl. 12:47
Personally i would be fine with Plasteel being disabled. If you're using EM Metals you probably already don't want Plasteel spawning naturally anyway.
