Report a translation problem
From what I know it seems to be possible to play without 12TPY, at least other players reported it worked fine for them, but I cannot confirm that myself as I never tried. It is recommended to play with the mod enabled.
The game freezing on the first Turn is definitely Centurion will be interested in having a look at, and the interface issue should be fixable ^^

I cannot guarantee how well they will work as I haven't tested them myself, but it might be worth having a look at it.
You can try deleting the battle_preferences folder, it's not gonna break things even more, but I would not get my hopes up that it might help. Tbh idk what exactly it even does, all I know is that it almost always works for custom battles, so might aswell give it a shot ^^
Regarding optimisation:
I have a AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a NVIDIA RTX 4080 Super, I only adjusted the number of threads, just as you did, and the game runs "well enough" for me. As I said, in my experience there is a certain point where performance will not get better anymore, just by the nature of the game itself.
I will try to re-create the situation and see if it happens again and send save file if it does. I changed some graphic settings and set unit size to large instead of ultra to see if that might be causing issues as well.
Also, Will deleting the battle_preferences folder possibly solve this issue or is that only for custom battles?
Lastly, could you please tell me how you have optimized this game for yourself and what cpu/gpu you are using? Thanks man!

Regarding the crash with multiple armies it would be really helpful if you could join the discord (see the discussuion above) and upload a save file from before one of the battles that crash if you still have one, so UMCenturion can have a look at it as he's currently trying to find and fix as many crashes as possible.

all working apart for one thing
when i attack a city, and i decide to play the siege battle. it crash the game

5. Classical Empires - Unit Models
6. Ancient Empires: Dust Particles (Not essential)

There are a couple ways one may or may not be able to increase the performance, just google for it, but as your hardware really shouldn't have any problems I don't know whether any of it will work.
The load order would be:
1. Blood & Gore DLC better performance (Not essential)
2. Classical Empires: 12 TPY + Expanded Building Slots
3. Classical Empires: Supply Mod (Not essential)
4. Total War: Classical Empires
5. Classical Empires - Unit Models

To play Classical Empires you need to at least have mods Nr. 2, 4, 5, 7, 8 installed.
Should that already be the case please let me know
