Weather Manager

Is there any way to make it work on a non-dedicated server?
SquidForbid 8 Sep @ 11:26am
I disabled the storm manager part of the mod. Its still not snowing, raining right now. I think I found a possible work around, but it will be a pain to keep up with. In the vanilla weather manager I can turn on "precipitationissnow" only. But i will have to turn that off once it warms up in spring.
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 8 Sep @ 10:52am
@SquidForbid Not a bother at all, happy to help. It might be because you have the storm manager enabled, it's maybe generating a 'storm' or 'tropical storm' which are hardcoded weather events that will always have rain rather than snow. Could you try testing with the storm manager disabled?
SquidForbid 8 Sep @ 10:24am
I am a server owner hosting a B41 server. I can force snow with the vanilla tools, but it goes right back to raining when I unselect precipitation and "precipitationissnow." Also, thanks for troubeshooting with me. I really appreciate it. I really want to get this mod working correctly. <3
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 8 Sep @ 8:50am
@SquidForbid Are you playing on build 41 or 42? If it's raining instead of snowing at -24 then something's gone wrong. If you have access to admin tools on your server, maybe try setting the 'Force Snow' option in the vanilla weather settings to make it snow, and then see what happens when you disable it after.
SquidForbid 8 Sep @ 8:09am
I have rain/snow manager, storm manager, and temperature manager enabled. Some of my players have told me its has snowed, but only for a very short time and very lightly. It is currently -24 C in game, and its currently raining. Rain has been no problem, I was just hoping that we could have freezing snowy winters and hot summers. Its actually extra dangerous because my players are wet and cold.
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 7 Sep @ 3:13pm
@SquidForbid Have you made sure the temperature manager is enabled? It should be the top option for that menu. Once the temperatures are sufficiently cold (being negative Celsius should be plenty) then any rainfall should come down as snow. Have you seen any rain since starting to use the weather manager?
SquidForbid 7 Sep @ 9:47am
I have made it to January on my server, and I haven't had any snow. Its been in the negatives Celsius on and off. -30 is the lowest and 2 is the highest for winter. Am I doing the settings wrong? I didn't really touch any of the weather parts of the mod, just changed the temperature for each season. Do I need to turn blizzards up to get snow? Chance of blizzard is set at 2.
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 15 Aug @ 10:17am
@atri ❤ Correct, if you set the chance of fog to 100% then there's a 100% chance that the mod will roll an amount of fog between your maximum and minimum fog levels. If you set it to 0% it would always be the minimum fog level only. Setting it to 50% chance would mean half the time it's minimum, and half the time it's somewhere between minimum and maximum.

The chance is rolled after every weather interval (in in-game hours) specified in the top field.
atri ❤ 15 Aug @ 3:35am
very specific question, if I set the chances of weather to 100% will it mean that theyre permanently enabled? like if i set fog chance to 100% then theres never not fog on the map
deadlee15 5 Aug @ 5:15pm
This mod is great for b41, I hope it can be updated for b42, While b42 has more weather settings than 41, you can't control the specifics for a more extreme climate, like this mod can.
Would like to have a wider temperature range. -60 +60 is clearly not enough.
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 24 May @ 5:21pm
@bubby_pz33 thanks brother, i'll try get around to it asap
bubby_pz33 24 May @ 4:35pm
I tested this in B42 format. I didnt get any errors and the weather manager worked with everything I fed it. It shouldnt need much work to update @TheSlapDoctor

Come and See 18 Jan @ 2:02pm
Nice mod. Just what I was looking for. :)
[FF] leon 20 Dec, 2024 @ 5:46pm
thank you i appreciate it
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 20 Dec, 2024 @ 5:32pm
@leonx132 If the minimum level is set to 0.8 then the weather will always be at least 80% intensity for snow/rain, meaning it will be snowing 100% of the time. If you want it to snow 80% of the time, set the minimum to zero and set the chance of snow/rain to 80.
[FF] leon 20 Dec, 2024 @ 4:47pm
what dose the min and max snow/rain level do?

if i set it to min 80% will it be snowing/raining 80% of the time or?
Unruly Beep 9 Dec, 2024 @ 1:45pm
Apparently, it does
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 9 Dec, 2024 @ 6:53am
@Unruly Boy No idea brother, let us know if you find out.
Unruly Beep 9 Dec, 2024 @ 1:16am
Is this compatible with Noxious Vapours?
Age135_CWY 2 Oct, 2024 @ 4:56am
Tempreture doesn't work////
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 20 Sep, 2024 @ 10:44am
@Neo Thanks! I'll hopefully get around to fixing that when I find the time.
Neo 19 Sep, 2024 @ 9:58pm
awesome mod! :cherrypie: to be more cooler must fix forecast ^^
Favorited hope to fix forecast.
Mattatatta 24 Aug, 2024 @ 2:35pm
The AEBS doesn't seem to predict the correct weather from my anecdotal experience. I recently had a warning for a thunderstorm on the radio that would go through at least two whole days, but on the day it was meant to start, I only saw a light shower for a few hours. and a misty but dry day after that.

Note that I had long turned off Storm Manager before noticing this with the radio, because the storms with that manager enabled were far too frequent and alternated between "Tropical" and "Blizzard" regardless of the current season.
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 24 Aug, 2024 @ 5:10am
@Синхол1 I think the forecast would be incorrect, but I haven't checked the broadcast in my testing. I'll look into correcting this in a later version if that's the case.
Sinkhole 23 Aug, 2024 @ 4:33pm
Hi @TheSlapDoctor, does this mod affect the AEBS? I mean is it possible to get accurate weather forecast through AEBS with this mod and managers enabled?
Telos 11 Aug, 2024 @ 3:43pm
@TheSlapDoctor
We had it running on our server for 6+ months in game and saw no rain.
In desperation I enabled rain in your mod so that we could have rain again.

We had another instance (in a different world) of snow falling during temperatures above 10'C, but I can't remember the settings we had on at the time that led to that.
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 11 Aug, 2024 @ 3:22pm
@Telos It's possible I haven't tested the mod for long enough so if you continue seeing no vanilla weather while the rain/fog/wind managers are disabled please do let me know!
Telos 11 Aug, 2024 @ 2:25pm
@TheSlapDoctor
Yeah, to be fair I haven't isolated your mod and so it could well be caused by something else that conflicts when run alongside your mod.
If it works fine for you then it's probably just a me problem. :)
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 11 Aug, 2024 @ 9:02am
@Telos Thanks for the feedback! Are you certain that this is a bug in the mod? I believe there's a grace period at the start of a new game which disables vanilla weather for a period of time. In my testing the vanilla weather system is re-enabled when the modded version is not in use.
Telos 10 Aug, 2024 @ 6:26pm
@TheSlapDoctor
Thanks for the great mod! It's got a lot of really cool options!

With that said there appears to be a bug where the vanilla rain, wind and storm settings are not used when the checkbox (for enabling your mod settings for those specific functions) is unticked.
We get no rain, wind or storms.
Have tried toggling on, restarting server and toggling off again. (multiplayer)
Unsure on how to fix and may have to go back to vanilla system just so we can have weather again.

Keep up the great work either way! :)
Mattatatta 7 Aug, 2024 @ 11:39am
I see, that explains it. I've toggled Storm Manager off and the temps have stabilized.

The polarizing weather would be great in a "Day After Tomorrow" themed scenario, but that's not what I'm aiming for.

Storms are also very frequent with that manager enabled, 24 hours max interval time between events is not enough to make these impressive storms into rare events. They're really cool though, you almost don't want them to be rare.
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 5 Aug, 2024 @ 1:18pm
@Mattatatta If you're using the storm manager it's not currently possible to require a certain temperature for blizzards within the mod settings, but it's possible to implement that in a later version.

The current storm manager setup actually interacts strangely with temperatures, where triggering a storm seems to overwrite the temperature to the appropriate values for that storm (at least, it seemed to do that in my last tests). So it's something I'm looking into, but is likely to be a fairly substantial amount of work to update.
Mattatatta 5 Aug, 2024 @ 5:54am
I'm using the weather moodles mod to better view this mod in action, and I've noticed that "Blizzards" can happen in the middle of Summer alongside Tropical Storms and regular Storms. Obviously the temperature is too high for snowfall, so it comes down as rain, but is there a way to configure the mod so that these "Blizzards" can only happen in low temperature ranges or in the Winter season, so I'm not having Tropical Storms and Blizzards in the same season?
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 4 Aug, 2024 @ 1:29pm
@McSlappy Right back at ya. I've actually never tested it, that's a good question. I suspect the radio will be incorrect about the weather since it'll read the vanilla 'weather front' system rather than just taking the currently effective values after the mod overrides them.
McSlappy 4 Aug, 2024 @ 10:10am
Hey @TheSlapDoctor great name!. I just had a question about the mod, Would this mod effect the weather station in any way? or would it still announce the correct incoming weather changes?
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 1 Aug, 2024 @ 5:31pm
@SoNya I don't think there's a sandstorm in vanilla zomboid
SoNya 17 Jul, 2024 @ 3:50am
is it available for the sandstorm? which option do i have to adjust? in storm category?
fatesdeath 8 Jul, 2024 @ 1:55pm
okay thank you for responding and thank you for the mod =):BUDlove:
TheSlapDoctor  [author] 8 Jul, 2024 @ 1:04pm
@fatesdeath i don't think the temperature values i put in by default are exactly vanilla, but they're approximately correct. the temperature section won't affect snow/rain at all, if the rain manager is disabled all rain/snow will be determined by the vanilla weather system.
fatesdeath 8 Jul, 2024 @ 8:36am
@slap thanks for responding i think i kinda got it working. it might just be me sorry
i have to adjust outside of live multiplay
it might be where its loading in mod order

my sandbox options open and i can see the setting but nothing actually changes while im ingame
its probably one of the other mods i got thats causing some conflicting issue with mod options

while i got you here are the mods "default" settings the vanilla settings?
cause
i only checked off "temperature" made winter -40 __ -0 max
added the mod kinda near the end of winter trying to make it colder but not cryo cold
it was stopping snow by then anyways so i couldnt tell if it stopped snow ethier

im not sure if im crazy but i made it to may15th and there was ZERO rain
but that might be cause i didnt check off the other settings

all i need to know is if i check ALL settings are they vanilla?
all i want is to make it -40 to -0 in winter but the rest i want vanilla
