Pets Can Eat from Wall Refrigerator

The change of this mod is "Allow animals to eat food from adjacent spaces", so it is not limited to a specific storage mod.

Hi, may I ask if this mod will support [sbz] Fridge in the future? Thank you.

This is the only thing that this mod changes.

Hi I have some problems.
1. When animal haulers or fabricator mech bring raw materials to paste machine inputs, they always carry only 1 unit even its empty. Human pawns work well.
2. If I include the nutrition paste in the zone for my dogs, they will no longer eat corpse even the paste machine is out of raw materials. It seems to be a priority problem, nutrition paste goes before corpse but this mod seems to alter the logic of paste machine by letting the check never fails even the machine is empty, which blocks all access to foods of lower priority after paste like corpse
I also have Animal Logics, but the author says its not from that mod, maybe this mod touched these aspects?

@The Synx
This is irrelevant as it does not interfere with the mechanism by which the trap operates.
The Synx 24 Jan, 2024 @ 6:39pm
weird thing i noticed with this enabled, pawns no longer trigger traps

@seeki It's alright, but if I expand the area the animals will consume the meals/beers.

I just wish I could figure out why they don't seem to place the items in adjacent tiles like before.

Thanks anyway.

@Cocaine™
That is a problem that can be solved by expanding the allowed area.
I will deny your request.
Cocaine™ 14 Sep, 2023 @ 1:41pm
@seeki I just tested in a new game with no mods enabled and yet they still won't drop items to adjacent tiles of their allowed area, no matter if it's the ground or shelves.

Now, what is strange is that before the last test i had just enabled Harmony and Hugslib and they did drop items to adjacent tiles of their allowed area but only on the floor and not on shelves.

@Cocaine™
The problem only occurs on your computer.
Pets can still place items in storage in impassable cells.
Cocaine™ 10 Sep, 2023 @ 12:08pm
I guess this is probably the same reason that animals before could drop items in adjacent tiles that were a forbidden area and now they can't.

I use animals for hauling and they would fill these shelves all the time and now they won't.

@seeki could this be fixed as well?

@Mitroll
Thanks for the report.
I checked the error contents, but your error was outside the jurisdiction of this mod.
This mod changes the process of animals finding food from within the map to the old method.
If the animal was able to start eating from the wall fridge then this mod is working fine.

Getting this error when my husky tries to drink VBE Soda from the fridge: https://pastebin.com/a5MkytUc

The husky gets no nutrition when drinking soda from the fridge after this error, though it gets the nutrition if eating it off the ground.
husky eating meals and other food from the fridge works fine.

Very useful mod in conjunction with the "Livestock Manger" mod, since both "Rimfridge" mods seem to have some issues at the moment.

Thumbs up from me.

Thanks a lot for your great mod!

@nako
Pawns can't enter paste dispenser feeder cells, so you'll need this mod to make animal Pawns use paste dispensers in conjunction with the Animals Logic mod.
Thanks for the information provided.

It seems like this is needed to get animals eating from the Nutrient Paste Dispenser with the AnimalsLogic mod in 1.4. Great work.

This mod only changes the food search range for your pet to the method before Rimworld Ver1.4.3613.
Therefore, it is unlikely that this mod will cause any trouble, so please use it with confidence.
bober 8 Feb, 2023 @ 8:42pm
does this work on version 1.4.3614 with CE?

@bungus
The reason I removed your request to release the source was in your honor.
I am sad that this was not understood.

Since it is easy for mod creators to analyze the dlls using a decompiler, everyone can know the source without me having to release the source code.
So the source code is as good as public from the beginning.
And you, who do not know this and persistently demand the release of the source code, are seen by others as a very childish person.
If you feel that the lack of source code makes my work unreliable, you can be happy by not subscribing.
Note that this mod's code is simple enough to make minor modifications, but because of Harmony's Transpiler, it is extremely difficult for mod users to understand what the code means.

Deleting comments is weak, shame on you @seeki
handsomegrape 4 Feb, 2023 @ 6:41am
@seeki You mean it does nothing without those two mods, in other words it's a patch. O.k~
skycrossercat 4 Feb, 2023 @ 6:34am
damn man, so the update is the culprit, no wonder it suddenly doesn't work.
" Fix: Fence-blocked animals attempting to reach food that is diagonally accessible but cannot path to become stuck" might be this change cause it right?
seeki  [author] 4 Feb, 2023 @ 6:14am
@handsomegrape
I created this mod for users to use without thinking too much.
This mod does nothing to RimFridge or Manager.
This mod allows your animals to eat food from adjacent squares in impenetrable storage like in the old days.
As a result, your animals can get food from a manager that is integrated with the wall refrigerator or fence. OK?
ryouta#503PogoLegend 4 Feb, 2023 @ 5:50am
@handsomegrape
Because several mods have the same problem.
Conflicts will occur if each one has a similar fix.
One common mod can reduce that conflict.
That is why this mod exists.
handsomegrape 4 Feb, 2023 @ 5:39am
Ok. Does this mod require the old one or does it replace it? It would be preferable to just have the one mod when it's just one or two item(s).
seeki  [author] 4 Feb, 2023 @ 5:21am
Mr. Eiten, the manger mod creator, has decided not to spend time fixing his mods because he has other things to do now.
So I made this fix mod and he welcomed my mod.
handsomegrape 4 Feb, 2023 @ 5:08am
So that's why the manger stopped working! Man, they just keep breaking this game. But isn't that manger a mod though, shouldn't that mod include this fix then? Seems like a better idea to ask them to become co-author and include the code in the mods themselves, rather than requiring an additional mod just for them to function.
