damn, i'm not used to old game modding
The reason I put this message there is because a game update did weird things to the way merchant inventory data was stored in the mod files and I had to change that. Since this doesn't affect characters, it shouldn't require a remake of characters.
Yes, this is sadly the way it works with -any- Spellforce1 mod, not just this one. Unless a Sf1 mod only changes textures, all changes of a mod are stored in a singular file called GameData.cff. The way a character works (XP requirements, attributes requirements) is stored there, too. Since you import a character from one campaign into the other, it must be the same GameData.cff for both.
Maybe my other mod, the one that only introduces items, works without making a new character before import since it doesn't change how characters work but only adds items.
1) You must play on the public test version of the game, you can enable it by going into the beta menu of the game
2) Download this mod
3) Launch the game from your steam library but select the mod launcher to open and not the actual game. Note you may need to do this from properties -> general -> launch options.
4) Select my mod and click "apply", the mod launcher will freeze for a moment and after that the mod is applied
Therefore I think the mod works as intended but I have added you as a steam friend to try and figure this one out individually.
only the traders in the first campaing are affected, all other sell your stuff, including the free game ones.
ive tried with all three traders in greyfell, always starting with nedime, then krag, then ladavius, none had the items. Alwaays direcly after the start of the game (i just beelined for the traders with invincibility)
the attribute freedom and xp thing work fine too
so far ive tried (always couppled with creating a new character and deleting the old test): reinstalling the mod, disabling all other mods, reinstalling the game, running the game in compatability mode for win xp, running the mod launcher in compatability mode for win xp, deleting all config files, verifiying the game files, copying the mod in the mod folder of the base game, and reinstalling the mod numerous times.
all to no avail
i am completly out of ideas to get the mod running.
Ive now tried creating multiple more characters, none of which had the items at the vendors. i always tried with the three vendors in greyfell directly after the start of the game.
in my last few tries i had no mods but this active, so i dont think there is anything interfering with it.
all other parts of the mods work, the items are at the vendors in the free game mode.
i have only tried with the first campaing though.
Ive tried shifting around with the administrator mode, and reinstalled the mod multiple times and i honestly dont know what to do now.
are there ways of obtaining the items with console commands or "update" the vendors inventory?
ive had some issues running the mod
ive looked into the inventory of all the mentioned merchants but cant find any new items. only some glitched out daggers with the effect "heal disease" on them.
do you know what im doing wrong and is there a list of the added items?
You can't use characters that were created before you applied the mod. The mod changes the main information file that the game uses (GameData.cff) which also stores (some) character information. Trying to load a character that relies on vanilla GameData.cff will cause crashes. This is also why premade character for SotP will not work with this mod. I also do not know how to change that with a mod, so I can't solve that.
If you apply the mod first and then create a char it will work. I just tested it for the first campaign -- the traders have the corresponding items, I don't see why that wouldn't be the case for other campaigns.
However, if you create the character first and then the mod, the merchants of all campaigns will remain vanilla because they are saved per character / campaign save file individually.
tl;dr mod first, then char creation, premade chars never work
I can create the char and then activate the mod, but see then no change on the 1st trader. Did not try in regards to experience etc. Would the rest of the mod work if I active it after creating the char?
Or do you have any idea how to solve the issue regarding sotp premade character usage?

1. Make sure that you play the game on the newest beta version called "publictest". You know that you are on publictest-version if the game has [publictest] at the end of its name in your library.
2. Download the mod and wait for the download to finish.
3. Start the game from your Steam library and select and start the mod launcher. You will find a Steam Workshop entry on the left, select it and apply it using the apply-button at the bottom of the interface.
The launcher will freeze for a moment, afterwards the mod is applied. Sorry for late response =)
P.S. I already have a beta testing mode and I see the stats of my warriors and enemy mobs. Plus, I have a subscription for those mods that exist in the Workshop. But I can't figure out how to use them in this launcher.
Please redownload and reapply the mod, everyone! "Old" characters should still be fully compatible as nothing was actually changed data wise.
I can't find these maps on any website, but I have them myself. If you accept my friend request I can send them to you via discord. Same goes for everyone who wants these maps, just add me.
Merging mods is an incredibly time consuming thing to do in SF1 because everything is assigned individual IDs that you have to change and allocate differently if both mods edit the same category of things, f. ex. equipment like weapons and armor. It would take weeks of looking at text files and merge the individual code lines together so that it may work. Since I offer a mod version of this mod that exclusively contains -new- items and -additional- inventory added to merchants (the original version of my mod) it should be much easier for other workshop authors to take my files (I will supply them on demand) and merge them into their mod than me merging their complex edits into my files.
However, you can always play with multiple mods that do not edit the same category of things. A mod that f. ex. exclusively edits units (without giving them new items) should work fine alongside this mod.
@DerBrocken Ich habe mir den Military Reforms mod mal angeschaut und so wie ich das sehe, nimmt der auch Veränderungen an Waffen und Ausrüstung vor bzw. löscht und fügt neue hinzu. In soweit kann ich Military Reforms nicht einfach an meinen mod anhängen. Ohnehin bräuchte ich die einzelnen Dateien des mods vom Autor und nicht nur die workshop-Dateien. Es müsste einfacher sein, wenn der Autor von Military Reforms einfach meine Dateien nimmt und diese zu seinen Sachen hinzufügt. Ich stelle meine Dateien gerne anderen moddern zur Verfügung.
ich hab jetzt nochmal alles gelöscht bis hin zu steam und alles was ich gefunden hab was irgendwie zum spiel gehört und neu installiert und jetzt geht alles :-))))))))))

also der Ordner ist genau da so wie du es beschrieben hast hab jetzt das spiel neu installiert
aber es funktioniert immer noch nicht im mod launcher wird kein mod angezeigt :-(
kann mir wer helfen ich seh bei mir keinen mod im mod launcher ich hab schonalles versucht neu installation mods raus wieder rein ???
like 3 stat instead of 2 and 10 status instead of 5
