Please separate these! I love the more saturated spy arms and medic arms, but the heavy and soldier look worse (in my opinion) so please make it so I can say yes to some and no to others. This looks nice though

Spy's coat shouldn't use the fabric texture. It's confirmed to be made of silk according to the comics.

Oh, sorry I was referring to weapon LOD's, I meant texture qualities. Sorry, my bad. When it comes to the spies unironed sleeves, I'd like to compare this to the 'one glove sniper' fix. In case you do not know, sniper in promotional material has only 1 glove, but in game, he has 2 gloves. Even if that fix makes it more accurate, it doesn't look the best in my subjective opinion.

Spies Sleeves are unironed in third person too (as seen with the normal map). Also idk where this idea of “viewmodel LODs” came from because they never had that and it would make sense to give it to them since they're always up close to your face lmao.

Like most of it, however the fact that spies sleeves are unironed is actually painful to see. Also, do make sure there are LOD's.

@Flashyface I believe there was a mod on Gamebanana that fixed the Huntsman issue alongside fixing the viewmodel arms. Only issue is that I don't think the original creator is going to upload it to the workshop. So it still is a possibility for someone else to do it.

@AzureWoof huntsman is mirrored for whatever reason (its anims are left handed which is bizarre) but only valve can change that though

Since this pack seemingly has a high chance of getting added, you should consider adding a fix for Sniper's viewmodel arms as well. I haven't seen anyone upload a proper fix for them on the workshop yet, so this might be a golden opportunity.

Sniper's viewmodel inconsistencies are probably one of the most obvious visual issues in the game, and I'd love for them to finally be fixed.


Here's the current issues with Sniper's viewmodel arms:

Sniper's viewmodel arms have two gloves and no watch. Sniper's world model has one glove and a watch on the same arm that the glove is on, while the other hand has no glove at all.

If you try fixing it to make his viewmodels look more like his world model, you'll notice pretty quickly that the current Huntsman animations in the game mirror the Sniper's arms for some reason. So the glove will show up on the wrong hand. You'd have to fix that as well to get it working properly.

@Venom "The Cigar" Snake - Dude I really don't think it's that deep, I think it's more likely that Spy's arms were just never updated to his final colors much like how he still uses his beta portrait (especially given he's the only class with such a massive disparity in color and pattern from third to first person)

I don't really like all these changes. I actually always liked the Spy viewmodels being the more muted color, and the stripes being much more prevalent as well. Like @Stogie said, the viewmodels were designed to look nice in their utilization. They were designed to look good in first person, and the muted colors help you focus on recognizing the colors of your surroundings. The bright colors of the third person models grab your attention much more and were designed with less detail in mind.

If you want this kind of consistency, cl_first_person_uses_world_model is actually fun to play with as it sports many more animations in comparison to the viewmodels. You can see your character walk, gesture, jump, crouch, and even the cosmetics they wear. I feel like the viewmodels look good and these consistency "issues" are intentional design, whereas something like Scout's blu team pants actually were unintentional.

The saturation and roughness changes are lovely, but I'm not such a fan of intentionally simplifying details. Things like higher-detailed cuffs and suit patterns WOULD be a part of the game's character models if such a thing had been feasible at the time.

I much prefer the viewmodels look nice, instead of adhering to their lower-poly character model counterparts.

I don't know if the Soldier BLU arms are really accurate. The BLU version for Soldier has a color similar to BLU Medic's Lab Coat. It's not the same blue like the rest of the mercs.

Reminds me of my younger days when I was obsessed TF2 and updating vanilla stuff with mods.
(By GAWD, I hate those days looking back, sometimes...)

But these and the Improved SM/TC look neat, and the odds of these making it in would be cool since they seem to be going HOG WILD with Workshop submissions

some of the "overdetailed" viewmodels are probably just more detailed cause they're not under the limitations of the overworld models (soldier's cuffs and spy's suit stripes), but i will agree i was always weirded out by soldier's pink hands in the viewmodel
