I always post the previous versions of mods in the #old_versions channel.
Once you have it you can just put it in your ConanSandbox\Mods folder (to find it fast right-click the game in steam, Manage -> Browse local files).
Then make a copy of your modlist.txt file in that folder (so you can restore it later)
Finally, open the original modlist.txt with notepad and find the line referring to this mod and simply delete the path in front of it, so that the line only has the file name Simple_Minimap.pak.
Save the file and close it.
This way the game will look for the file that is in the same folder as the modlist.txt and find the older version. Once your server admin updates, simply delete your modlist.txt and put back the copy you made earlier.
Or do you mean your server admin still didn't update to the latest one? That I have no control over, but the previous version is available for download in the discord and you can manually replace it and join your server in the meantime.
That simply means the server needs an update. Sometimes server hosts cache mod files on their end since they have a lot of servers requesting the same file, which means they don't always detect updates. Some panels have buttons allowing you to delete the cache or you can make a ticket and ask them to do so manually. (Gportal is notorious for doing this and often not seeing mod updates for days)
Bottom line, you need to contact your server admin if it's not you and ask them to update the mod on the server to the latest version. The minimap didn't even have updates in the last 2 days, so even the slowest hosts should see the new version by now, which means this is most likely on your server admin :)
A setting I'm missing?
If white boxes, then that was covered in the patch-notes.. basically the colored pin icons were removed from the mod, because now all markers can be colored.
So anyone who placed those icons will see a white box instead, they can simply right-click it and Edit and pick a different icon.
I see what you did there.
And the settings are quite available if you spend more than 5 seconds actually reading the description above OR even watching the attached tutorial video instead of acting like an entitled asshat :) Good luck!
Anyway, thank you so much for making & sharing this awesome piece of QoL improvement. Saves a ton of clicking to and fro with the darned regular big map. Shoulda be in vanilla game, maybe as a toggleable feature for hardcore servers. But in vanilla nonetheless.
Cheers & Mod On!
You'll see that in the Mods folder on the server, there actually won't be a corresponding .pak file and that your server log at the beginning will tell you the mod file doesn't exist.
So you need to upload your local copy from your steam library, rename it to the mod ID.pak cuz.. gportal.. and that should sort it out.
It simply means the mods loaded on the server.. and the mods loaded on your game client: do not match, that's all... there is nothing else to it. And no, there are no "false-positives" if it tells you they don't match.. they really don't match.
In order to connect to a modded server the players need to have the same version of mods loaded in the same order as the server does.
For several days now gportal's mod manager is having an issue where the mod files are not actually installed on the server, despite their panel showing you that it is.
Since they don't actually exist and thus can't be loaded.. players will have a mismatch error, because they DO have the mod, unlike the server.
TLDR: The issue is with G-Portal, I highly recommend you switch providers and you'll never have issues like this again.
Anyway, I don't have direct download links to the current versions, but you can just use the one from your client.
Right-click the game in steam: Manage -> Browse local files, this will open the installation folder, go up 4 folders to the "steamapps" folder, then go to "workshop\content\440900\2898150544\" and it will be there.
You can just manually upload it to your server with FTP
