Someone got mad that Holiday Headcase costs 34.85 keys and decided to make cheap replica of it.

It doesn't feel uninspired.

This feels uninspired. Ignoring the glaring similarity to the Holiday Headcase, the concept for this can be boiled down to "Present on head". However, for a box with a bow, it is well modeled.

Discipline is a word I have been touting in my last few critiques, and here is an example I think requires my point to be hammered in.

When making items for the game, you need to make them for the sake of the characters AND the people who play the game, rather than for simplistic personal reasons.

Having the discipline to use your skills to make what everyone will like instead of what only you will like will make the difference between items being added and not being added from your collection.

The team members who made this item have brimming amounts of talent, but it is wasted on things like this when it is not properly focused on what the game needs rather than what they want.

I hope some of your better items get in, but not this one. This one is disappointing.

Elf cosmetics are the Ferrari of tf2

Seriously, making stuff just for the sake of making it is perfectly valid. Heck, I want to get into weapon creation despite knowing we'll never get new weapons in a million years, it's just fun to do.
Not everything needs to go on the workshop and if you truly want to make ridiculously festive cosmetics by all means go for it if it's posted somewhere else with no intention of getting into the game. Artstation, DeviantArt, Instagram, there's probably even some niche on YouTube for something like this.

Considering plenty of creators say that they make stuff "for themselves" I think that's a perfectly reasonable proposition...

If any creator wants to make cosmetics like this, for some reason (which really brings into question why they would even be interested in a game like TF2 in the first place since items like this have rarely ever been prevalent and quite simply don’t suit the game), then you can post them on the community forums. If you do this, then nobody will have a problem with it, since we all know that it won’t be added to the game.

Aside from the usual obvious failings this cosmetic has (no loadout potential, all class despite fitting none of the classes, overly holiday themed, etc) the concept has already been executed and exists in game in the form of the holiday head case, as many other people have pointed out. Just like most other holiday cosmetics, it is never worn, and I wasn’t even aware of its existence until I saw one for sale on scrap.tf.

The intent behind this cosmetic is obviously to piss people off, as you proved by saying that you weren’t sorry that you uploaded it: not only is this a wasted effort that accomplishes nothing, but it goes against the entire purpose of the workshop.

It's easy to forget that the holiday headcase exists because literally nobody uses it.

i want to say it looks better than the holiday headcase. to which you people in the comments forget that cosmetic exists. pretty much they got a present on their head. i'd have it cause it would look good with the cosmetic of festive flip-thwomps. makes you look like a deadly present overall.

People got aware of these kind of garbage cosmetics because that godawful 2021 smissmas case, that was the tipping point for most people (the WORST performing case, mind you), not because of a tf2 youtuber, but considering you don't even mention him by name, and how some creators huff each other's farts in the comments of the types os cosmetics, I think it's pretty safe to assume that zesty, monkey and whoever criticizes this stuff, lives absolutely rent free in your heads.

Shameful, really, you all definitely got talent, but it's hindered by inflated egos, prides, stubbornness and an unwillingness to ACTUALLY listen to constructive criticism.

Why bother even making this? What point are you trying to prove? At this point its not even about the artstyle. Like, can you honestly say that you'd use this in a loadout? Just a reminder: TF2’s artstyle has been dead since Gun Mettle Update. You should’ve noticed by now that ever since then valve has added cosmetics that don’t fit tf2 whatsoever and people only complain about it current day just cus some readhead said so. Please use your brains lol

This fucking sucks. Silly kind of art breaking cosmetics only work if they're kind of rare. Like the Holiday Headcase, which is a very similar cosmetic. And knowing Valve, they'll make this merc grade if it was added.
