is it a way to recycle/shred/smelt dead droids?

when i started the game with the runaway start. the pawn had android upgrade, but had the baseline species and still had hunger and mood. do i need to disable biotech?

@simonscott it resolved it for me but just for the newly build ones, the already build ones still get the red X :(

@simonscott Try other 3rd-party mod sorting programs such as RimSort since it has it's own texture converting technicalities of sorts. Just delete the old dds textures.

Unfortunately removing the dds files doesn't seem to have resolved the texture error

I think handling Androids as colonists is a serious flaw (unless this is a mod interaction or core limitation, then disregard this post).
I just had Battledroids take up space in the hospital prepared for other pawns and one BD exploded due to overheating and killed pawns that were in the hospital for a quest and other droids.
If the droids always explode upon death then a separate facility is needed for them. Hibernation pads don't work for this. However if a hibernated droid wouldn't explode upon death this would be a lot better, but they're not taken to those upon being downed upon damage.

Furthermore:
- droids can take colonists beds, this include hospital beds,
- droids are treated as colonists for Ideologion ritual purposes,
- probably other less obvious mechanical constraints.

That said The 2/3 above (with that one explosively obvious exception) is very useful.

The texture files exist with the correct names but as far as I can tell the .dds files in question are blank.

How does the texture error get fixed, looks absolutely grim in my run through but I'm not removing the mods, they are intrinsic to what I am doing. Any thoughts?

Hi everyone, the recent update has caused a texture error, which was triggered by the 'Android Expanded' mod and its related expansion mods. Please disable them.

ive just had the same bug too, although the game through up hundreds of missing texture errors at first, and now today, and after resubbing to everything its thrown up this mod on its own.
From what i can gather the unity engine has been updated slightly and now alot of modded textures are comming up as the wrong size, even though the whole thing worked fine thursday.

Minor Rimworld update came out today and the textures and icons for task, droid, and android prints broke. Not sure if related or just a coincidence.

Yeah that missing texture box is really annoying, the character editor to repalce the body to fix it is only temporary, it always comes back after reloading the save

@overlord44 @xadeel6 Only found out through a character editor, seems the missing texture is the male torso, changing the droids to female fixes them (though it replaces their heads with human ones as a result, for some reason)

@overlord44 I bet it's probably a bug that happened either from the devs of Rimworld or this mod making an update and there being bugs they haven't noticed yet.

I'm not sure what happened, this was working fine yesterday, but there is a red box replacing the droids' torsos. It's not happening to humans, and I disabled a couple other mods to try and fix the mod, but nothing changed it.

I use this mod all the time for the basic worker droid, would it be possible to add different body types for them-specifically hulk body i need atleast 10 of them working in my base all of them called george..... for science

The android printer makes an INTOLERABLE AWFUL sound. It's so bad that it isn't worth using.

Printing an android makes a constant rattling sound and it's the most annoying thing imaginable. Have to build my android facilities out in the boonies just so it doesn't annoy me, the player.

for anyone who cares: work droids and battle droids dont need sleep, but they'll still try to take a bed because they're pawns, they'll just only do so when they're injured.

ANDROIDS, even if given the drone mentality, are literally pawns and will do all the pawny things pawns do, including eat and sleep. ya dinguses.

for all of those wondering why these pawns are doing pawn stuff is because it was written in HAR as a pawn. probably some kind of tag to fix that. but that is why.

something strange i just noticed: with the new odyssey dlc, if you have an android printer on a gravship and it has loaded materials for an android, if you take off it leaves all the queue'd materials on the ground as your ship takes off.

it must be some kind of mod conflict, cause i do not get that issue. my droids don't sleep or throw parties or get inspirations. the only thing weird that they do is occasionally generate a notification that they want to change their style. The androids on the other hand do everything and thats intentional

After playing a bit with the BioTech "Mechanitor" - one thing i really like there is that the mechanoids there doesnt act as a Pawns - dunno if it would be possible to do something similiar with this mod in the future. Cause currently i had simple droids starting social parties, interacting with monoliths (Having nightmares about it lol) etc etc - dunno if it is some mod conflicts but ... yea... thats my one thorn with the mod - the base droids should be considered just "cans" while the later advanced Androids with proper upgrades should be a proper pawns.

I'm switching over from android mods (the descendant of Android Tiers is an ultra-balanced disappointment, this one will take a while to be remade) to custom xenotypes that I make as android-like as possible (emotionless, immune to disease / aging / infection / toxins, highly resistant to vacuum, inbuilt mechlink).

Godspeed, good mod maker, I'll use the simpler droids in this mod as early game labor and cannon fodder early on in my future "Androids" Only colony.

I can't recreate the wasp thing either, and the logs don't mention anything to do with this mod. seems to be an issue with the base alien race mod?

I cannot use the android printer, cant put anything into it, and cant start crafting. :(

After creating the android printer, clicking on 'start creating' does nothing :( No new androids for me.

it doesnt allow me to do any operation, neither does the droid even give me the option to put him to rest for operation, thats what bugs me. I'll say whether i can fix his arm or not
