I opened the right door at the beginning and got the key to the torch but there appears to be no more keys to collect in the right door, so how do I progress if I can't, am I hard locked, I think so?
I could use a little direction please I'm confused if I'm missing something or not.
The left room is full of tediousness, spiders that are impervious to jump attacks and respawn every few seconds, a very loong small walkway making you carry apples back and forth all while dropping them to kill the respawning spiders and then picking them back up (prey you're not dropping them off the ledge or you have to do it all over again!). Oh yeah and the second apple spawns in a completely different place while the first one despawns after one use, adding to the frustration.
The right room is cryptic as hell, to the point where many people thought it softlocked them. One key is hidden somewhere in the fog, you have to jump to it while barely seeing anything, the other is connected to a button that seemingly does nothing. Had to use a walkthrough for this one.
Very annoying, cryptic and tedious execution, but I see the potential and I hope the criticism can help you when designing future levels =)
Conclusion => shit
I don't understand it, I can't attack the spiders.
But the barrel that I needed to blow up suddenly disappeared after I unlocked the button, and now I can't get the key to finish it.
I guess you tried using level bits or something similar to track the player's progress so they wouldn't have to open locks and get torches again in case they died and had to restart the level.
Well, that is exactly the downfall here. As it turns out, if you pick up a hand-held torch but then die before you can take it back to the central room and light the big torch there... yeah, it won't respawn. You're stuck. Not even quitting the level fixes the problem because of the mentioned reasons.
I guess the fix would be as easy as making the pick-up torches only stop spawning after their job has been finished in the central room. Not sure if you wanna fix it, just thought I mention it.
Until then, I just won't be able to finish your level. At least not on this save file.
(Sorry, I don't like hearing bad news either, but this is a serious enough issue that it needed mentioning.)
