@Dereck Delta What? The Strong Blood gene does give benefits, not negatives. It's the Inbred gene that gives negatives. For example, gen 1 Strong blood:

@城璐龍 It is still so hard for me to understand what you're saying, maybe use AI to translate? I have no idea what you mean by "the other run away". You're trying to romance two blood related pawns, but one of them "runs away"? What does that mean? Are you maybe trying to say that it doesn't work as in you cannot romance them? If so, can you provide more details, like what are your mod settings, colony ideology, which pair you're trying to romance etc? I also don't understand ""Discovering a disturbing behavior " -20Feeling 25day dissipate." and it has nothing to do with my mod, so if you're seeing this error message then i'd recommend you disable other mods and try again with just mine, as whatever that means, it is probably coming from another mod or mod conflict of some kind.

@Rubaedo It’s random. In Fixed Gene Inheritance mode, or in the first generation of Generational mode, there’s a 10% chance. When a pawn becomes pregnant, a roll determines if the baby has the Inbred gene (10%). If not, a second roll is made for the Strong Blood gene (also 10%). If neither succeeds, the baby is born normal.

If one gene is disabled, only a single roll is made. For example, if Inbred is disabled, then each pregnancy triggers just one roll for Strong Blood (10%).

In Generational mode, the chances of Inbred increase with each generation (e.g. 40% by the second generation). If that fails, a separate roll for Strong Blood (still fixed at 10%) occurs.

@Sarus also can you specify what your mod settings are, what ideology your pawns have (any kinship preference?), and do you see any errors/warnings in debug log? also what other gene-related mods do you play with?

@Sarus This is very weird, i'll need more details to begin to troubleshoot this. What kind of pawn is pawn 1 (vs pawn 2), what relationship specifically does not trigger a gene and which one does? does the romance work regardless? and are you tracking the generations correctly? (note that a couple just needs to be 2nd incest generation to get a gen3 kid, it doesn't need to have a gene themselves, so that might look like it skipped a generation but in fact it did not).

Its just weird for me, its like some pawns are just outright excluded/ignored
Like pawn 1 will not trigger a inbred or strong blood in any descendents at all (repeated testing, clearing hediff), but it can happen for pawn 2, ugh im terrible at putting stuff into words so it makes sense T^T
In short? For some the characters no matter the relation tier, its as if they are unrelated, but for others it works, but then it seems to skip a Gen, like one of them with Gen1 skipped gen2 and had a gen3 kid

@Cubile Oddity Alright, i just updated the mod with a patch for this, i don't use that mod but i installed it and did a quick test and it seems to work. If you could test it yourself though and let me know if it works on your end too it'd be appreciated. Thanks for your idea!

late getting around to testing it, but its finally working now, or something changed and now their positions in load order became Hurr! -shrug-
That and/or it might have a issue with Big and Smalls multiple offspring/litter offspring genes, and/or early maturity

But anyways, ty for this mod :)

@grumble314 no i didn't raise it, that behavior is strange. I just tested it on my end with a 16yo daughter and father lovers and they went to share the same bed just fine. Did you make sure that their ideo allows it? could be some kind of weird mod conflict perhaps? i suggest trying it out without other mods, and ensuring their ideo has Free physical love precept. Also check the debug log for any potential error logs.

Just curious the game allows lovers at 16 did you leave it at this or raise it? I ask as a daughter initiated the relationship but even though they were lovers they wouldn't sleep in the same bed.

I don't even know why i bother replying to these trolls, i guess i'm just used to trying to be a good person always but from today onwards i'm gonna remove/ignore comments that are disrespectful to me. @idontcare At end of day id just stop responding to people complaining all the time like criticism fine but it legit your mod at end of day and it's pretty cool way it is if people don't want to use it or want it changed people can make diff mod. There not to many mods like this only other one I can think of is rjw from lovers lab which way worse and changes a bunch of other stuff lol. I'm still surprised this wasn't base game cause you can do a lot of other stuff on rimworld.

But I think it comes down to one of those things where if people don't like concept of mod or have issue with it they don't need to use it and can skip it. If people have actual issues with mod like bugs or improvement would respond to that. But feel like people trolling.

It's a good mod the way it is and thanks for making it.

@Alma_S I don't know if it's rational or not, it's just what i think. Yes you are probably "blood related to yourself". But loving yourself via fantasy duplication has nothing to do with my mod (which is grounded in real life incest and its destigmatization). If anything it should be that modder the one to enable romance between their "duplicates", if they want to. As they are the one making up that concept and everything related to it. Did you ask them? (and did they reply?). If they were to reply with "no because it could be perceived as incest ewww" though, even if i disagree with it being incest at all, you bet im patching it just out of spite :steammocking:

@Alma_S If the relation is "duplicate" (not actual family relation label like brother/sister to simulate twins for example) then it does make sense and my mod doesn't patch that since it's not real blood family. It's a copy of a single pawn. So unfortunately I don't think my mod should support romancing a clone of oneself as that is unrelated to my mod regardless of whether that mod calls it "incest" or not (it's not).

the mod adds multiple pawn relations all labeled "duplicate" but with varying degree of opinion offsets and romance chance factors. the pawn relations also has incest opinion offset and inbred chance that i reckon did not get patched by your mod. i was unable to force romance duplicates together in the social tab

@Sarus I just ran tests in v1.5 recently fixed which all passed, and manually created sibling lovers to try go for baby and see how long it takes me for baby to get a bloodline gene if at all, and i got inbred on attempt 3.

(logs: [ACI] actualStrongBloodChance: 0.1, actualInbredChance: 0.1, strongBloodRoll: 0.7284127, inbredRoll: 0.009348433, getsStrongBlood: False, getsInbred: True).
Settings with all enabled and generational gene inheritance as well.

So I think it is likely a mod conflict? or just extreme bad luck, but it would have to be so extreme if you had over 12 births that i lean towards a mod conflict. Can you share your mod list and/or could you try without other gene-related mods?

Ok i figured it out, i updated the .dll just now but you guys may need to remove any existing settings of my mod. So basically, here are the steps for everyone on 1.5:

1. go to C:\Users\[YOUR_USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Config and delete all .xml files that contain" ACI" (ACIMod, etc) or "AllowConsensualIncest"
2. do not run game yet. Resubscribe to the mod for clean install first
3. now run game and enable the mod. After restart, when you go to mod settings, you should see them just fine

Note: i don't know the exact directory path for mac/linux users or users who didn't install to the default folders, so use that as windows reference only.

I want to thank you for your mod. My Thargarian Empire rely on it ;) Im still on 1.5, lot of my mods didnt get updated, and your last update didnt work out for me sadly.

@SuperTechDragon and @IDAZIZ Fair points, i guess it is hard for me to understand personally since i've never played the game with more than idk, 20-30 mods at a time, i'm the kind of player who mostly installs QoL mods and that's about it, but clearly lots of people have way more mods. Also, i underestimated how important my mod is apparently for a few players, which obviously makes me happy and thankful. Hopefully this update will allow everyone to have a good gaming time with my mod.

Ok guys i *think* i have a working 1.5 version now, my tests are broken on 1.5 for a reason i cant figure out yet but i did manual testing for a bit and no errors / no issues as far as i could see, so i am not sure if all my mod features are working but please do let me know if you encounter any issues in 1.5. I ended up going for a conditional approach to fix it instead of this complicated folder versioning that i was struggling to make work, but it is the first time i try it so i am also unsure whether it works as expected. But i guess for now this should unblock the people who are still on 1.5.
