@Seanarchy maybe turn large asteroids off/on before creating the world.

Появилась необходимость в астероидах 350х350х350 (сделай пожалуйсто нечто подобное)

They need like large asteroids with gravity in the game, the problem is it might make the game lag like crazy
Clay___ 20 Jul, 2014 @ 5:46pm
Uraninate?
Whiterabbit 19 Jul, 2014 @ 6:55pm
When you say it's made by overlapping multiple asteroids, once they are overlapped are they still separate or do they get merged? Like if you overlap two pieces of ore, does it get replaced with one, or do they both still exist there? I assume that's what you mean by material overlapping, they both still exist?

@ret7army: You could copy the voxelmap (.vox) files and voxelmap entries from the sector file (.sbs) and paste them into an existing folder/file. Review the SEToolbox thread and KSW modding forum for additional help and details on the group move and import functions.

@CrazyMonkey3: I've added a link to the SEToolbox forum thread in the description.

@Nate: The moon is solid, and is made of of multiple spherical asteriods overlapping each other. Not the most efficient way of doing it, and there is some material clipping. See my workshop for other moon constructions.
Emil Muzz  [author] 19 Jul, 2014 @ 1:22pm
@Exothermite: Keep an eye on the workshop, I'll see what I can do and post a version with embedded gravity.

@Retarded: Review the SEToolbox thread for details on how to set materials in an asteroid. (Tip: To set multiple ore types, you must use the Generate Asteroid Field function.)

@Life: The models were imported using SEToolbox (link in description); then the positions of each sphere were changed manually in the sector (sbs) file to overlap them.

is it solid or have hollow pockets? im debating on getting the game and i was planning on taking a "moon" like this and having a yelling style faced mined on and in the mouth is where the grinders are so it could eat ships and meteors you toss in
cipher 18 Jul, 2014 @ 8:53pm
how do i get setoolbox
Whiterabbit 18 Jul, 2014 @ 4:51pm
ret7army lookup SEToolbox, you can place asteroids into any save/map.
ret7army 18 Jul, 2014 @ 12:29pm
Is there a way to *add* this to an existing game in progress?
DIAX 18 Jul, 2014 @ 11:55am
Someone should make a deathstar out of this. Hollow the whole thing out and make a base with a gravity cannon that fires solid rods of metal.

I Still Find It Annoying How SE Has No Orbit
Life 17 Jul, 2014 @ 7:08am
What program was used for this? How this is done?
RazerBandit 16 Jul, 2014 @ 6:34pm
i could use this to make a fighting map in space
Psylocine 16 Jul, 2014 @ 2:49pm
How to add materials in custom object asteroids? SEToolbox only allows me to choose inner and outer layer?
Fastmadcow 15 Jul, 2014 @ 8:47pm
I was going to use it for... Creative stuff, So I mean you know?
Emil Muzz  [author] 15 Jul, 2014 @ 2:56pm
@Exothermite: There are no gravity generators installed, the moon is solid stone/ore. While limited gravity would be possible, it would only last as long as the fuel in reactors powering gravity generators.
Fastmadcow 15 Jul, 2014 @ 10:40am
Does it have gravity?
Emil Muzz  [author] 14 Jul, 2014 @ 11:03pm
Check my workshop for an 'improved' version. By improved, the new version makes use of indivdual voxelmaps set in very close proximity to each other. This *may* give a slight performance gain, since there aren't 4-5 Voxelmaps taking up the same position in space.
Frog Spy 14 Jul, 2014 @ 8:46pm
very nice moon. Now time to drill a big hole in it :D
Abyzmi 14 Jul, 2014 @ 4:06pm
Now if only you could apply gravity...
Sektan 14 Jul, 2014 @ 7:12am
Hi, I do not think that this way is good. When I started making my planets, so I tried this as well. Because the materials are overlapped, it happens that the extraction occurs excessive number of bits. Sometimes it can be for large objects to make trouble/lags. And visually it does not look good at mining. It is possible that the smaller objects that would be better. A better way is to do a separate layer. Test to make this model with several separate layers. Each layer of one material. A test fluency games in mining, explosions and other things. Just try it. Maybe it is possible to reach better results.
TrueChaoS 14 Jul, 2014 @ 3:55am
This actually looks like it would make survival tolerable for me. Good job :3
Darkaiser 13 Jul, 2014 @ 6:26am
Very nice. Large enough to drive around on with some of the new moon buggy designs.
Zwanzibar 12 Jul, 2014 @ 6:24am
gonna try this for sure, either way, hats of to your hard work!
Emil Muzz  [author] 11 Jul, 2014 @ 9:47pm
@Zwanzibar: I haven't noticed anything too intense on my system (which isn't blazing fast).
For comparison, I can load the Asteroids scenario set to Large (7 Asteroids) in ~ 30 seconds and it's playable. This loads in approximately the same time and appears to have the same performance impact.

Zwanzibar 11 Jul, 2014 @ 6:27pm
wow nice job man, i dont mean this as and insult at all but is it playable? I mean lag and stuff?
