Its Complete! Unit Overhaul 4.7 now has a complete 2021 map that features researched military formations in their real world locations for every country. Hundreds of 2021 map fixes and updates(GCR Mod Map). Enhanced AI, thousands of new units and hundreds of new unit images, multi-domain warfare, improved economy, multiplayer tested...a complete overhaul to SRU. Moving onto scenarios next!

The ai struggles to cross oceans, but, if its own forces are attacked, it will react (eventually) by placing units in transports at ports and send them off to the nearest friendly port where the action is taking place.

Before this mod, an example of a war between Russia and the US would see no real interaction. With this mod, the US has bases all over, its carrier groups are in their mission locations, and the Russians have several bases around the world, one in Cuba. So the ai is actively patrolling and has target pathing destinations to get its units more involved.

To assist with this problem, we have added over a hundred foreign bases for dozens of countries.

In addition every known carrier or short deck carrier will start off with its appropriate carrier wing. For the most part that wing of aircraft will stick to the carrier. If one of those aircraft are damaged it will path to the nearest airfield to repair. So an improvement yes, but not a full fix.

#cofigabo, if the carriers are in theater, planes that are carrier capable will utilize them. But yeah, that was an engine thing.

Small question as i remember it was a problem in the past in SRU : is the ai is able to manage planes from carriers in this mod or it is not possible due to engine limitation ?

Updated to Unit Overhaul 4.6. Every country in Asia is now complete. Other updates in this version. Complete (optional) overhaul, by Squiidy, for every unit to have more realistic build times. This, along with starting unit experience, provides great value to your available starting units. This also will reduce late game lag from all the units the AI would otherwise build up over time. Squiidy was also able to do some work on the AIParams file to help countries that have nuclear weapon tech, to not just build nuclear weapons. Sgt Scuba created a Shahed 136 drone model that is used for several other drones that have a similar design. Iran’s Northern Fleet was added to contest the Caspian Sea. And finally, dozens of more units were added along with several from “Twilight of Empires” a Sea Power mod by Goldleader108. These units are fictional 80’s era naval assets that give several countries more interesting options. Check the change log for a full list

Updated to Unit Overhaul 4.5. Every country in South America, Central America, Mexico, the Cartels, and the Caribbean have complete military structures with approximate placement and experience levels.

A couple of events for the cartels to keep them interesting and ongoing.

Paramilitary units have been redone and are more mobile with different images.

Rework of the US Navy structure.

Added several more new units and a new Typhoon 6x6 MRAP image from Sgt. Scuba.

Updated to Unit Overhaul 4.4. All of Europe now has complete military structures and placement. Many new units to include a whole new domain of warfare, PSYOP units. Also some more additions to drone warfare, to include Clandestine Drone Container Trucks as seen in the Ukraine conflict and Clandestine Drone Control Teams as seen deployed by the Israelis in Iran. The Chinese Jiutian SS AUV drone air carrier for saturation attacks, the new Multi-Domain Effects recon battalions, plus more.

Unit Overhaul 4.3 is out! India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Emirates Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Rojava, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Oman, Yemen, SPC Yemen, and Bahrain Military Structure and Starting Positions are now included.

Other updates in this version. The US’s recently announced F-22D Super Raptor and F-55 were added along with several updates of many 5th and 6th Gen Fighters. The Golden Dome ABMSAT can be researched, and North Korea gets their AEGIS Choe Hyon Destroyer. FPV Drone Units were added in addition to the larger FPV drone variants. A short India/Pakistan war was added in the events file.

Unit Overhaul 4.3 should be coming out this weekend. Military structures and placements for India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Emirate of Afghanistan, and the rest of the Middle East will be included. Also the F-55, the F-22 Super Raptor, and the Golden Dome ABMSAT system along with some other units and updates.

arakan94, yeah there were some pretty significant changes, everything from an updated tech tree, certain technology upgrades that provide certain bonus, image formats, to the new squared unit values, its a big tangled knot of some 20plus thousands strands of string.

NuclearSkullGabbyNuclearSkull, thank you for your comment and support. Regrettably there were several changes from SRU to SR2030 to allow a solid port. I have been looking at SR2030 more closely lately, and am getting closer to maybe start thinking about starting over with SR2030.

arakan94, Thank you for your comments! Some day I hope to port over. Would need some help though, there is a lot that would need to be adjusted and tested. If you know anyone that would like to help out send them my way.

In the mean time, I guess the best I can offer is to look at SRU with this mod as a different play style from the norm. I like to look at it as more of an old school turn based game like Gary Grisby's War in the East kind of mindset as far as complexity and depth. I play on slow to normal and pause often to micromanage almost every aspect from my economy to giving individual orders to almost every unit.

One question though - what can I do to use this in SR2030? I have 3x the FPS, especially when zoomed out, and just can't bring myself to play SRU anymore :/

Updated to Unit Overhaul 4.2! Key updates in this version are the addition of Israel, Turkey, and Iran Military Structure and starting positions. Several new unit meshes from Sgt. Scuba. Many additional units for Israel, Turkey, and Iran. Finally, as renaming of the NGAD to F-47 along with several new Collaborative Combat Aircraft variants, plus more, check the change log!

Rift, check the individual Rules of Engagement and make sure Contact Options is set to Engage instead of Avoid, and lock the minister controls. If set to Default, they will default to Avoid. I have some screen shots to show both Yasen versions on my discord if you want.

I loaded up my Russia game, and tested it again myself. I declared war on Indonesia (closest to my units), parked them right next to some Indonesian escort, and watched all 12 of them die one by one without firing a single shot back (offloaded missiles so they wouldn't use any). Are you sure you tested the right Yasen? There's the "SSGN-885 Yasen" (Year 93), and then there's a more advanced version (Year 125), "SSGN-885MU Yasen-MU". The more advanced one is the derpy one, lol. I had them in a battlegroup (ctrl+9), minister locked from controlling them, default ROE. I still have some of the regular "SSGN-885 Yasen" (the Year 93 ones) subs, and they work just fine. :meepstarry:

Rift just tested this. They worked fine on my end, only thing I can think of is what were your rules of engagement set for the unit, and were they locked on minister control. Also were the units out of supply?

Hey, Tnarg. Was playing as Russia in the 2020 Global Crisis sandbox and declared war on China. Sent in a bunch of SSGN-885MU Yasen-MU's and they didn't attack any of the Chinese naval units. They fired off some missiles, but they just sat there getting murdered by their naval units without firing back at all. 95/95 range, but even just one hex away, they didn't do anything, lol.

Unit Overhaul 4.1 is out now! After speaking with the creator of “World War 3: Part I, Russia Invades the Baltics” I was inspired to create Single Player or Multiplayer a highly detailed and modeled lead up to WWIII based loosely on Flat Circle History’s amazing video! The Baltics Region Military Structure is now fully mapped. Other updates in this version include Finland and Sweden join NATO through events in 2023 and 2024. The new JH-36 and J-50 has prompted a review of all next generation fighters including the NGAD and FA-XX program. Many other additional Baltic region units. Plus more, check the change log.

Unit Overhaul 4.0 is out! Now with a complete Pacific Theater actual force structure for every country in the Pacific Theater. Other updates in this version include Trump will be in power again in 2025. Tons of new and unique elite forces for many of the Pacific Theater countries, an optional event folder with different levels of events depending on your play style. Many map updates including dozens of bases for the Pacific Theater countries.

The entire Pacific Theater is coming up soon. Full military formations for all of the major players in the Pacific Theater. Events for either a calm Pacific Theater or a complete hot bed of expansion. This theater offers some very interesting surprises and every country is very unique in its defense organization.

You shold be able to subscribe to them all the same time. So if you want to play a modern map one day you can, play a 1936 map another you can. Make sure to follow the install instructions for each mod. The WWII Unit Overhaul Mod has all of the units from Unit Overhaul, and updates many files and the map so that modern units are not showing up.

Working on Japans military structure and am planning an event between Russia/Japan and China Japan if Ukraine and Taiwan are successful campaigns.

Australia is a small military but will be crucial in some events along with Canada, so look forward to all of these military structures being implemented in the next update!

Going to focus on Isreal and Iran in the following update and some of the major middle east players.

Almost done with the Pacific Theater update for Unit Overhaul. It was dard to find information on North Korea, but I have poured through hundreds of pages of various documents to piece together a pretty formidable North Korean army structure and placed formations on the map. #4 in size and strength in the world.

South Koreas orbats and formations have also been completed along with some updates on the map with the DMZ and various defensive structure.

These can be found on DesTrykes maps. An event is also included with a likely invasion plan that follows North Korea battle plans.

It is possible; however, it is requires a ton of work to go through every orbat of every country to align nicely so that 80s tech units are not being built in 49. We do have a full 1936 conversion for Unit Overhaul with the Unit Overhaul WWII, the 80s and On Mod incorporates the Unit Overhaul, and of course a continuous update on the various 2021 map. I could show you how to do it and would give you full credit on the work, but again, you are looking at about a 4 to 6 months of time at a minimum to revamp a '49 map.

I do have an alternative Axis victory, alternative "Man in the High Castle" type map on my back burner, but that is down the road.

Is it possible to make a patch for this mod so its usable in cold war since there is alot modern units without tech requirements and AI recruits 80s units in 49 also 80% of the world has french tanks and sherman fireflies. Please please please make a patch for cold war.

Updated to Unit Overhaul 3.9! Added UK, Chinese, and Taiwan Military force structures! Want give a shout out to Toothless Shark for his help on a Russian/Ukraine Invasion Event and a Chinese/Taiwan Naval Invasion Event! Use this mod and DesTrykes GC Rebalance mod for a highly realistic 2021 world. Updated all short range drones that do not require an air field to work more effectively in the field on the front lines where they should be! Many more units, map updates and many other updates. Next update will include China's military's force structure...(Huge Military!!!!) and Taiwan's military force structure! You can game out a "What If" China/Taiwan Scenario with one of the most accurate military force structures out there! Also, we have been working with Toothless Shark to create some invasion events for China/Taiwan and the Russia/Ukraine invasion. The 2021 Sandbox world is taking on a more realistic, this is the way it is, this is what may happen turn of events. Many field implemented drones have got a rework to work more accurately at a field level. And as always, several more units!

Updated to Unit Overhaul 3.8. Gary Grigsby War in the East fans, you can now multiplay or single play one of the most detailed modern day Russian/Ukraine War with actual military formations from these countries. Brigades, Divisions, Corps, Armies, Air Armies... have all been researched and placed in approximate real time locations. In addition to Ukraine and Russian military structure, the US, Germany, and France are also complete. Poland, Italy, and the UK to come in the next update followed by China, NK, and SK. Updated to Unit Overhaul 3.7. Major feature of this release include the introduction of actual military force structures of the US and Russia. All Countries with Carriers and Helicopter Carriers have air wings assigned, so hopefully no more carriers wandering around the map without aircraft. Several more updated orbats bringing the total to 160. Many fixes and updates and of course many new new units, to include the much talked about CL-1201 Aircraft Aircraft Carrier. For WWII sandbox it is best to use the WWII unit overhaul mod. That has specially made orbats and .cvp files included to address your issue with modern equipment showing up in WWII.
