I have no idea what's going on..
This mod is causing my game to crash.. no matter how much I try to isolate it, it crashes by just enabling it.

I tried it after unsubscribing to every other mod, checking my file integrity.. still caused my game to crash if I enabled it.

The crash logs suggest it's an issue with the mod itself, specifically line 70-71 (modmain.lua)
But fixing that only stopped it from crashing my game, all of the functionality seems to be busted, causing further crashes when I try to save/load presets..

I made a duplicate of the mod that I tried to fix, I got as far as being able to click the 'save' and 'load' buttons without crashing, but they didn't work-
After I gave up and deleted the duplicate mod and re-installed the original, it didn't crash on start-up, but it still crashed when trying to save a preset.

So to make this as absolutely clear as possible.

Go to world creation.
Enable the mods you want for the preset.
Click on "Synced"
Then start the world.
Wait for It to load the world then you can disconnect and that preset will be ready for ANY world you host.
Doesn't get simpler than that.

Okay so all you need to do Is set up your Synced mods and then start a hosted world, after Its done loading leave and BOOM the preset will be saved and you can do It again for another preset.
Idk what you tell ya that's easily wayyyyy better than having to turn off all your mods and then having to turn back on 100+ mods manually.

In the default mod screen as you have displayed in the last image, you can save the Client-side mod preset.. but you cannot save the Server-side preset..

Saving the presets I already set in the Server-side mods I already configured was my only reason for getting this mod.. am I really unable to save Server-side mod presets without doing it from a hosted world?
some mods that 30 people use is saved correctly and some famous doesnt so i don't understand how to use it :(

Can you specify which mods as well as how many mods are in this preset? As the previous messages said all mods should work, but I’m just curious so I can check for any eccentricities. I think someone mentioned earlier that they had problems with making presets that had nearly a 100+ mods, I don’t remember if they figured it out but that may still be an issue… I need to check that tho…

@OSLO: This mod makes presets, when you activate a preset It activates all the mods you Synced to that specific preset.
And yes you can have multiple presets at a time, just make sure you have the mods you want on and then press the "Sync" button and It'll Sync all the mods you currently have active to that preset.

I've been using this mod for a long time.
Never had that Issue once.
Try reinstalling the mod, that or Sync a couple of times to make sure Its really synced.
I use tons of different mods with this so I don't have to reactivate them a hundred different times, or have to remember different client presets I like to use.
I can assure you this mod 100% works just fine.

I tried add preset but some of my client mods enabled were not included.

If not all mods supported, there's no point to use this.

it should, we have a point in "work in progress" where we want to make that easier to do, but at the end of the day it's just gonna be dealing with that one file. There is a possibility that if people want to make a millions assets with a million mods each, we might have to change the way the presets are stored and move to a different file, however we'll let you know if that happens since it will probably break things. (might have to make a 2.0 mod!) if that happens we'll let you all know and ask about it...

sorry I didn't make it very obvious in the previous message that the presets are stored in the file called "mod_presets" WITHOUT any file extension. You can open it up if your curious how Klei's data dumper works, but just make sure not to tinker with it or you might break something... (Your computer will probably be transported to The Constant if you do :-)

yes @kitsune The way we currently have it set up is to store the mod presets in the Klei folder: C:\Users\username\Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether\254404980\client_save\mod_presets
You should be able to copy that file and paste it into the new client_save folder on a new computer with DST on it.

when i delete the game or format my pc every single setting i do goes away, can this be used to 1 click set up everything?

The problem if we remove mod configuration options is that people will no longer be able to store presets that preserve config options. We didn't know how often people use the config options, but we preferred to store them in case people use different configs from server to server. If we find a better way of dumping the info we should hopefully be able to keep the config, but we'll see. We'll take a look at setpersistentstring... sorry for the delay! Again I'm in college and I have a few other people who are having problems with mods and I also have programming assignments on top of everything

Can you improve the datadumper or remove modinfo.configurations_options or use io instead of TheSim.SetPersistentString to allow for more capacity of mods? Currently it can't store many mods. Or maybe it is because what Link-AM said.

If you take a look at the mod_presets file we create in the client_save folder, you could always add a section in your modmain that reads the file, do a table.insert, and then rewrite the file. But more importantly, you should be able to specify dependency mods in a field in mod_info. Check out how Gemcore based mods require other mods! It's pretty cool

It'd be nice if mods could come with their own presets, like if there was an easy way to extend this mod to provide one. I've been working on an overhaul mod that wants (but doesn't require) another mod but highly suggests it should be had.

This is a great mod but one issue - it does not work with any mods which do not have settings (the cog option). It's not a big deal for server mods - I just scroll through and re-enable anything that was missed before starting the server. However its a deal breaker for the client mods, so I still use the Batch Enable mod for client.

We never explicitly set any preset limits in the mod, so it's most likely an issue with the way we're compiling the presets into the preset file. One thing to keep in mind is that the more mods each preset has, the more config data the file has to store for each mod. (If you store a bunch of mods that each have a ton of config options and a ton of choices for each option, the file will become large VERY quickly.) Also, since we don't usually use that many mods, we never tested massive presets, so this behavior is new to us.... give us a bit to see what's happening.... again, college has started so you gotta give me some time :-)

there seems to be a mod limit in a preset about 64-65, my issue is that I have 100 mods needed to be preseted, is there no way to raise the limit?

You could always try to make presets include the “Mod Presets” mod every time. If it’s a problem we can always make a new configuration if you guys want!
