I just had a creature nope out of existence upon attempting to use its attack. Seems to just be that specific attack, but I figured I'd bring it up:

It's a really weird thing I can't figure out. I messed around with the wind up time or the attack distance but I just can't get it. I just took all the code from the other mod and I don't fully understand it.

Don't know if intentional but flyers cancel their ranged attacks if you're further than like 2 blocks away from them, even if the attack has enough range to get to you.

In addition, the power of special attacks in general seem to be all over the place in terms of what monsters have which abilities. You can end up with hulking night-monsters that poke you with stun zaps, or small fries that spit up globs of flames that linger on the ground, or dragonbirds with an unimpressive acid spit, or docile passives that pack a massive exploding ice-orb attack.
To keep the threat level of monster types more in-line with their intended toughness, do you think it might be possible to put all the more modest attacks in their own pool for use when generating a planet's smaller monsters and birds, while the planet's larger monsters and stratosphere birds receive their abilities from a seperate pool containing the more powerful and complex attacks?

It doesn't do that to me. Weird.
Also, some of the special attacks feel overpowered. Specifically, the 'short-range bubble spray' attack and its other-element counterparts. They can one-shot a player the same tier as the monster in a single barrage. Trying to explore a planet you're supposedly equipped for but is teeming with a species that can instantly send you back to your ship ain't fun (unless it's the Erchius Ghost :P). Those attacks could definitely use a nerf.

Like non aggressive daytime monsters? It shouldn't but I can check if there is something altering the spawn rate.

I'd say any monster who can *only* deal touch damage should keep touch damage (I.E. those hiding rock dudes, those cyclopic ghost dudes).

How do you feel about the flying monsters still having touch damage? Sometimes it's they only way they can do it.

I made progress on touch damage and still displaying attack power. I also think I got the unused chomp attack to work ok.

Is touch damage still removed? In your 9/08 update note you say "I should probably revert to the previous version for now." If you did revert, can you release a separate mod for removing touch damage? No other mod out there does it :Snowman: There WAS one that did it, but it broke with the bounty update :papyrus:
Having played both ways, I've observed that Starbound's monster touch damage really restricts the game's combat, as it mandates a methodical playstyle focused on positioning, spacing, and retreating :steamfacepalm: However, removing monster touch damage enables players to explore & develop a wider variety of more dynamic combat techniques, and more viably build their character around their favorite ways to play :dale_snowman:

hey man me and my friends are playing with this mod everyday, we are doing permadeath runs and this mod is really helpful bcz we can kind of tell what attacks the monster might have access to depending on how they look, rather than seeing a monster with no legs and a ice cream cone body that shoots out rockets that one shots you or sum
