As I stated above feel free to modify whatever you need. If there are some files you need let me know and I can set up something to let you have the source files. I don't really play DayZ much anymore, haven't in years. I don't know how much things might have changed in the game files. I was actually surprised this still works lol.

Do you have a discord to reach you on dude? I was wondering if I could possibly do a modification to get the sheath to align with the nylon sheath so we can use it on our backpacks?

Config.cpp down near the bottom of the file in the class CfgAmmo section you modify the Health blood and shock values for each type of hit ( search for MeleeKatana line 472 and MeleeKatana_Heavy line 1374 ) the values are right under these at the top of the json structure in

@EscherTheMC Yes it's stated in the description my mods are free to all to modify and use however they please according to DayZ Eula rules for user created content for the game listed above, a little credit is always nice, Cheers

Also the Heavy Sprint Attack does Damage of 100 Health, 100 Blood, and 15 Shock

Range Short and Medium Strike or Light and Heavy are 1.8 the the Super Heavy Sprint attack is 3.7
Anyone is welcome to unpack inspect modify for their individual needs or repack for servers at their desire as long as you keep the attribution of the mods original page for the model designers etc. and any help or questions.

Damage : for all [ 70 health, 100 blood, 15 shock]
Range : for all [ 1.8 Default, 1.8 Heavy, 3.7 Sprint]
I originally intended to profile individual damage and melee modes for each for varying damage and ranges but life got busy haven't had the time to do anything for dayz in a while i might revisit this in the near future. the Tachi was the original profile thus the reason for the large dmg and ranges the other two are currently just children of the Tachi through inherited classes so they all act like the tachi in melee combat

The sword alone is fine. It only inverts on the belt or Meleesling when you add the sheath.

@Glxlplk yeah can't speak to that, its not meant to attach to anything except the shoulder slot on a character, i tried belts, and things before but the sling being part of someone else's mod i can't put the time in right now to make things compatible, sorry. Too many variables with other mods to account for if i had more time i could possibly work it out. @Virus glad you like it, enjoy guys.

Great mod! However, if you use the sword and sheath with a melee sling it is upside down. :(

no bug that im aware of. so far i have only tried to attach the Katana it did not go on the MVS belt

@GARBAGEGIANT Not a problem, It's in the description just credit me in your server pack somewhere, or loading screen. @SumthinBurnin i think i tried to do that once before attaching to belt slots etc, but couldn't get the placement correct i later learned that for each item you attach to you have to make a new proxy model for positioning them, is there a bug or something ? .... Thanks for the praises everyone i haven't been able to work on things in a while, Real Life stuff has just kind of taking front seat for now. I will try and fix any bugs that come up but new features and such might have to wait a good while. Sorry, but glad you all are enjoying the mod :selike:

You can also of course play with the spawn tags, usage flags, or nominal values etc as any mod that adds weapons, clothing, guns, or other in game items to the loot tables

@Worms you have to manually edit your server mission file's types.xml, and if you want the cfgspawnabletypes.xml by appending the data in the respective files in the mod's root directory\Types\types.xml everything is in that file you just copy and then paste the two sections in to the correct files in your server mission folders making sure to leave the bottom closing </types> at the end of the file.

they are in the types.xml file at the top in the // comment section the sheaths are at the bottom
in the xml itself i will update soon and add them all to a classnames.txt

that is probably what happened to your server as well @Crackpot I published an update and it seems to have fixed the meta.cpp for me. Hope this helps guys, I am still learning.

Yeah the meta.cpp is set by steam workshop on download, so I am guessing because its the first upload it did not set it I will publish and update to fix this. This is a known issue with first time mods.

Hi there we have just tried to add your mod to our server and got the following message
[Error] Mod Error: the workshop id is 0, this normally means the author of mod has not updated the mod. Manually set the publishedid in @SLC Swords\meta.cpp to the workshop id or ask the author to update the mod.
Do you have any plans to update your mod please?

Yes it should work uses the suicide animation of the medieval sword stab in the stomach, and disembowel.

I tried it again and the server would not start so I removed it again. I even had to remove it from my computer so that I could log on to my server. Others could log on but not me while I had it subscribed. I can not find any crash logs concerning your mod but I hope this info can help you.

I know the key is there and it is signed, I am looking into it, I do have some errors I am working to fix now maybe could be related. I checked my download and the keys and types folder are there. double check the key is in the server keys ( not saying you haven't) maybe delete the key and then put it back from the mod source folder. Not sure what else to try at this point but I will update as soon as i fix these problems maybe that will fix it for you. If you are looking for conflicts only way I know is to setup a private server on your LAN or local PC and test this mod with each other mod you use. without RPT data and logs hard to say what is happening.

No it is not the only mod on my server and I have never been able to use your swords mod. I really would like to though. The fact that my server will not run is nothing to do with other mods anyway. If it were another mod the server would run but there might be conflicts. This is acting like it is not signed or no key included, at first I thought it was a private mod but kept watching hoping to use it later.

Crackpot is this the only mod on your serve?, are you sure its not another mod that has updated recently? I ran it just this morning with my test server and about 16 other mods no problems.
