Hello. I've been testing various issues with odyssey and I found out that Maru (and Miho, for that matter) mod scenario for some reason does not generate odyssey asteroid map layer.

When used together with the Guards For Me mod, an error occurs after loading a save file.
Creating a dev save and loading it results in red error messages.

That likely happens when you’re using a mod that makes hats invisible. The setting in the Maru mod that hides the hair when that specific hat is worn gets applied simultaneously, which is probably why you’re seeing that.

I recommend using AB’s Head Apparel Tweaker, which was made with extra options specifically for race mods that implement hair as an addon.:momocat:

글쎄용... 만들고 싶기는 한데 작업량이 너무 많아서 저도 제가 만들게 될 지는 잘 모르겠네요.
당장 지금 마루 바디가 좀 더 디테일한 성장 단계를 보여주고 싶어가지고 어린이->성인 사이에 청소년 바디까지 따로 추가해뒀거든요. 그래서 만약 남자를 만들면 단순히 기존 장비의 남자 버전 텍스쳐를 그리는 것도 문제지만, 남자 청소년 바디와 거기에 맞는 텍스쳐도 추가해야 하고, 그럼 추후에 컨텐츠 업데이트로 장비 하나를 추가할 때마다 작업량이 네배가 되는거라 아직은 좀 고민중입니다:sleepyjill:

I did update the Itemformchange code to a new version myself, but the original code itself was something I received from the creator of the Moyo mod. So, I think it would be better for you to get permission from them first.

If you get their permission, then you’ll have no problem using it.:momocat:

I found that Cloth Maru Caravan hat also has the problem with the space helmet before. Other maru helmets also might have this problem but so far only found this.

I'm now working on Paniel 1.6 temp version, and i need help for finding an 1.6 compactible Itemformchange.dll. I see maru have one using in 1.6 assemblies. Did you recomplie this and can i take use for paniel too?

Ah, I see. So it’s a conflict with a facial animation mod. I haven’t used that particular one myself, so I wasn’t aware of this, but I’ll definitely check it out.

I was able to reproduce the issue with the following mods enabled,
Harmony, NL Facial Animation - WIP, NL Facial Animation - Experimentals, NL Realistic Body, Humanoid Alien Races, Maru Race, Maru Facial Animation Continued, Character Editor.

The body part "marulike/Heads/Female_MRhead" does not change the head type.
If you put on a space helmet, then the body part "marulike/ApparelP/Helmet/MR_SpaceheadA" does change the head that is underneath the space helmet, but as soon as you take off the helmet it's back to the original head that does not change.

Additionally if I go into the game and use the styling station to look at the HAR body parts the graphics for the heads are all invisible. But the graphics for all the space heads show up.

Only one maru head type ever shows, no matter what you set the head to in body part section.0-22 are all the same Maru head. But if you wear the space helmet you can see the heads changing as your try 0-22 under the "MR_SpaceheadA" body part. There's no error log, but I can try removing all my other mods to see if there's any conflict. One moment.

Hmm, I just did a quick check, but I can’t seem to reproduce the error on my end. It’s likely a mod conflict.

If you could copy your error log (a HugsLib log is best) or your full mod list and post it here or in the bug report thread, I’ll take a look when I have time.:lilimsob:

@VAMV Oh, I think I see the problem... The option to change the head "Female_MRhead" doesn't currently seem to do anything. When changing that value nothing happens. But if I put on a space helmet and change "MR_SpaceheadA" it does change the head underneath while wearing the helmet. I think that there might be a bug with showing different heads when not wearing the helmet.

To improve the quality of the graphics, Maru’s head and hair are implemented using the HAR’s built-in addon system, which works a bit differently from the vanilla mechanism. Therefore, to change facial features, you need to edit the “addon” graphics, not the head itself.

You can do this by clicking the hat-shaped icon in a character editor mod, or an easier way is to use the Styling Station (from the Ideology DLC), switch to the HAR tab, and make changes there.

As for the mismatch between the preview images and the in-game graphics—you’re right, they don’t match. The previews are from the very first release of the mod and were never updated. I drew them before I got better at drawing and ended up redoing all the art because I wasn’t happy with it. To be honest, I haven’t gotten around to updating the images out of laziness, but I’ve been thinking I should probably get them replaced soon.:seriousboss:

It looks like that was an error caused by a reference to obsolete code. I’m not entirely sure why it was still there, but I’ve removed it now. Thanks for the report!:lilimsob:

Regarding the compatibility with the mods you mentioned, I will look into them positively. However, please understand that compatibility patches for different body types or apparel mods require a significant amount of work for the benefit they bring, so they may be a lower priority compared to new content updates.:momoshroom:

What is the difference between Maru Pointy Eye and Maru Normal Eye? I don't see a difference whenever I swap between them. I can't quite replicate the faces I see in the preview image either. It seems like there is no mouth like the second pawn in the preview image has or brow / eye combination that looks like the 3rd.

Alright, I’ve updated the helmet so that the face is visible when worn.
However, I find it strange that it’s not being included in the default policy even though I’ve added the ‘Spacefarer’ tag. I’ll fix it as soon as I figure out the cause.:momoshroom:

When wearing the spacesuit in this mod, the face is not visible. Is this intentional? Removing all hats and hair related mods causes the same error.

I'm not sure if this is only my problem but the Maru Space Helmet is invisible when worn to me. So any Maru that equip it turns bald lol. They also dont auto equip both Helmet and Spacesuit when you allow it on spacefarer settings for some reason.

Regarding the Hediff_SymbioticInfectionBase error:
The Hediff_SymbioticInfectionBase is a core hediff located in the main Maru folder. It follows the standard vanilla structure, so if it’s failing to load, a mod conflict is the most likely cause.
About the blank hair textures:
To allow for a wider range of expression, Maru hairstyles are managed as a separate addon, unlike vanilla hairs. You can change them using the Styling Station.
On the request for Facial Animation compatibility:
A ‘Continued’ version of the facial animation compatibility patch already exists. Please look for that one.
