Expanded Foodtank Cargo

A: Are you sure it's the cargo itself and not another mod? Does the game.log list the cargo as the cause (generally whatever error was the last or next to last in the log is the crash cause).

B: If it is the cargo, is it just the Waste Water cargo or do other cargoes from this mod cause it?

I don't have time to test myself as I have an event to go to soon, but report back with those answers and I'll look into it when I have time.

:1033:BIG UPDATE!:1033:
This post will be in two parts.

v9.0 of the mod is live supporting Missouri and making a host of changes. Read the changelog for full details, but the short of it is this:
- Added support for companies that the mod was missing from previous DLC and base game states. This will be an ongoing effort pending future additions/changes from SCS. Likely if other states get reworks like Cali did. Looking at you Nevada and Arizona
- Lots of new companies throughout the map supported, chiefly, a bunch of gas stations. I wasn't aware they were added as deliverable companies. Full list of all new companies supported in changelog.
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 5 May @ 10:20am
- Expanded Recycled and Waste Water cargo back to the Food and Fuel trailers to help availability and viability. Last change to them unless SCS adds new trailers those cargoes could be transported in.
- Further inflated cargo availability. Added Recycled and Waste Water cargoes to some warehouses. May or may not make sense, just trying to expand availability for these trailers while SCS is lacking. Might do the same for food items to non-food markets.
- Temporarily removed support for Flatbed & Dropdeck Container Loads mod, pending that mod getting updates. New cargo loading system broke it. Gdog is aware that mod is broken, it will get updated when he has time, don't bug him about it.

Add an edit button for mod comments, Steam. Seriously, it's 2025. WTF
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 29 Mar @ 1:41pm
Yeah, I figured that would be the case. This has models from an integrated/required mod called "Flatbed & Dropdeck Container Loads" that adds containers/sea-cans to the flatbed and dropdeck trailers, since that is a thing IRL (it's not common but it can and has been done). With the new cargo loading system for visual loads (flatbeds, dropdecks, lowboys), these models broke/are no longer compatible.

Sadly, I can't fix it unless the integrated mod gets an update. However, since it sounds like your game didn't crash, its no big worry as far as I can tell. You'll just have an empty, heavy trailer when taking those loads for now.
nothing_is_real 29 Mar @ 9:04am
@Sanguinem Luna i used this yesterday with a dry van & dropdeck trailers and had 1 issue with the dropdeck. the cargo market offered a load of apple juice which i thought was wierd but i tried it anyway. as expected it didn't show on the traler after loading. all other loads i tried worked though. hope this helps.
nothing_is_real 27 Mar @ 5:46pm
ok thx for the reply. i'll try the foodtank mod and see if it works. i'll let you know.
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 27 Mar @ 1:19pm
I honestly have no idea. In theory, it should for the most part. The integrated "Flatbed & Dropdeck Container Loads" mod may or may not have issues with the new cargo loading system. I haven't had time to test today and likely won't have time until tomorrow. But as far as the foodtank and "enclosed" loads go, they should, again in theory, be okay?
nothing_is_real 27 Mar @ 11:02am
will this work with 1.54 update? i disabled it for now but not sure if it will be problem. thx!

On a sidenote: The game is getting to a point where I'm not even sure anymore of what's new, what's old, what's been updated, etc. So if there are any mod authors out there that work with the company files, especially for cargo mods, and have a deeper understanding of the changes each update than I do, and who would like to offer some help, I would love some feedback. What companies did I miss? What companies got updated? The mod is not locked, feel free to open it up, take a look, see what companies I'm missing or what companies need updating and let me know.

This is about the only mod of mine that I care deeply enough to keep updated frequently, as the Foodtank still sorely lacks cargo/cargo availability, but of course, it's one of the more tedious to do so.

Users: I'm now uncertain about my choice to make the Recycled Water and Waste Water cargoes exclusive to Chemtank trailers. Would you like to see it return to Fueltank and/or Foodtank trailers? Let me know!

Small dev update: I'm aware Nebraska was announced as releasing May 16th, 2024. I've been in the 1.50 EB for a few weeks now. The mod seems to be fine. I've encountered no issues.

I can't promise a date for when this'll be updated for Nebraska, but I will try to get it done in a timely manner. As this is one of very few of my own mods I still run, chances are I'll update it "soonish" after Nebraska drops.

That being said, I'm still busy with my vol. FD. What I said Sep 30th, '23 still holds true, I'm still receiving/seeking training for roles I wish to fulfill in my VFD (you wouldn't believe the amount of time certain training takes). I'm also working more than I was in previous years.

So... It should still be expected that any new states may take upwards of a few months to update this mod for. I apologize in advance and ask y'all to please be patient. Thanks for your continued support guys. Peace be with you all and I'll see you out on the highways! :mashyourmotor:
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 17 Mar, 2024 @ 11:27am
Thank you! I might add more cargoes in the future. Those would likely be among any cargo that I might add.
HRai530 16 Mar, 2024 @ 7:21pm
Awesome mod! Really gives the food tanker variety! Wonder if you plan on adding Corn Oil, Palm Oil, Cottonseed Oil, and Corn Syrup in the future.
i0nStorm 25 Jan, 2024 @ 4:58pm
I just picked up another load of plums to check. Reefer indicator light was on as it should be. So the previous time when I had attempted to do it myself (for myself), was likely somehow related to the issue I'm having.
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 25 Jan, 2024 @ 1:35pm
My guess is probably a mod conflict messing with the Reefer somehow. Or, and this is less likely, but somehow a mod conflicting with the raw fruit cargoes in my mod. Not impossible but also not likely. Could also just be a game thing. Might be that the indicator light is determined to be on at random each time a load that would use it is "created" by the markets. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i0nStorm 25 Jan, 2024 @ 12:08pm
Cool. :D

But yeah, occasionally the indicator light seems to be hit or miss. I'm just not sure if my recent indicator light wasn't working because of issues I seem to be having or something else. Load of plums from Reno to McAllen, reefer on or trailer's gonna need a real good washing out. lol
DIGITALGATE 25 Jan, 2024 @ 11:08am
awesome
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 25 Jan, 2024 @ 9:19am
:1033: ATTENTION :1033:
Mod updated to 7.0. See Change Notes tab for full changelog. Notable changes:
* Updated some raw fruit cargoes to have the Reefer indicator light active in both Freight and Cargo Markets.
* Added a new raw fruit cargo: Grapes.

I don't know why SCS hasn't added Grapes as a vanilla cargo since we have a couple wineries already, but I've added it for now. I may add Oranges as well at some point in the future. Again, no idea why SCS hasn't added crops like that in general given their huge focus on farms recently.
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 25 Jan, 2024 @ 7:08am
I can try but I can't guarantee I'll have any better luck getting the indicator light to work. Most of the raw fruit cargoes are already able to be hauled in reefers and insulated box trailers.
i0nStorm 25 Jan, 2024 @ 4:22am
Ugh, wish I could (or knew how to) edit my posts...

When I said "didn't work" I actually meant the reefer indicator light didn't work, but I could haul plums (in this case) with my reefer at least.
i0nStorm 25 Jan, 2024 @ 4:14am
I've got a minor-ish request. I actually did try to do it locally, but it didn't work. I'm not sure if it's because I've recently been having some issues with a few local mods, or if it's something else.

But could you add, from def.scs:

- def/cargo/butter/ model_scs_box.sii

(It's actually available in a few cargos, butter is just closest to the top.)

To:

- def/cargo/cherries/
- .../cranberries/
- .../plums/

And really any others you might deem appropriate. It makes them reefer compatible (and should really be chilled), and ideally turns on the reefer indicator light.

I just figured since you've got them, why not at least ask..? ;)

Sweet, Thank you
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 19 Dec, 2023 @ 8:18pm
It shouldn't matter where it's loaded unless you're running Gdog900's Flatbed Container Loads mod. Then it should be loaded above that one. Otherwise, nah, it doesn't matter.
Abaddonxd 19 Dec, 2023 @ 4:50pm
Is there a position in a load order for this mod or does it not really respond to a load order?
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 1 Dec, 2023 @ 6:59pm
:1033: ATTENTION! :1033:
The mod has been updated for Kansas! Please see the Change Notes tab of the mod page for details.

I have not tested the update, so I am unsure of how much cargo availability has expanded within Kansas. When I updated for Oklahoma, I found that I still did not see much additional availability. I feel like that's due to how little Foodtank-capable companies there were, but I'm not 100% sure of that. Kansas may or may not be the same way.

If the mod doesn't seem to have updated on your guys' end, try either resubscribing to the mod, or restarting Steam.
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 31 Oct, 2023 @ 4:01am
If by third-party you mean trailer mods, I'm not sure. If they, for whatever reason, use SCS' trailer body types, then maybe? But I'm going to hazard a guess and say most don't, so probably not. And I do not plan or intend to support any.

The mod has finally been updated for Oklahoma! Please see the Change Notes tab of the mod page for details.

If the mod doesn't seem to have updated on your guys' end, try either resubscribing to the mod, or restarting Steam.

Apologies that this took so long to update. There's a couple reasons for this, mostly that I've kinda been in a modding funk. I just haven't had the motivation to work much on maintaining my mods. I've also been fairly busy with my IRL life as a Volunteer Firefighter, getting training needed for the roles I'm looking to fulfill within my fire department, etc.

It should be expected in the future that any new states may take upwards of a few months to update this mod for. I apologize in advance and simply ask y'all to please be patient. Thanks for your continued support guys. Peace be with you all and keep trucking on! :mashyourmotor:

@Sanguinem Luna Thank you, I sure will. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you too friend.
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 17 Dec, 2022 @ 2:17pm
You're welcome. Thank you for checking out the mod, by the way. I hope you enjoy(ed) it well. Have a merry holiday and Happy New Year!
FunGaming44 17 Dec, 2022 @ 1:59pm
@Sanguinem Luna Thanks for the detailed answer, I agree they need to work on other things like cargo etc. instead of just adding new maps.
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 17 Dec, 2022 @ 8:23am
I've given thought to making a Fueltank cargo mod a few months ago, but I don't know what I could add for cargo. My knowledge of those cargoes is essentially non-existent & it seems SCS added whatever cargo I already had in mind. Chem cargo same as Fuel.

I have a pretty good idea of livestock cargo to add (basically every livestock cargo IRL that would go into the trailer that SCS didn't add), but like already mentioned, this Foodtank cargo mod was more work than I anticipated to maintain.

In the future I may get tired of SCS ignoring cargo for some of the owned trailers & eventually do it if no-one else does. But I would lean towards that happening when they eventually, or get close to, finishing the Lower 48. B/c if they haven't addressed it by then, they probably never will... sigh I love SCS, they're my #1 favorite developer but Goddamn, they really need to work more on the core feature of the game. 2/2

Damn Steam's 1k character limit...
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 17 Dec, 2022 @ 8:22am
This mod should be independent from Flatbed & Dropdeck Container Loads, but I'm not 100% certain of that. From limited testing it worked okay, but I marked it as a requirement in the Workshop to be safe.

Container carriers have limited cargo availability in vanila ATS (though my mod adds more cargo to them), so that's partly why the Flatbed & Dropdeck Container Loads mod exists. Not to mention that containers can & have been hauled on flatbeds & dropdecks IRL. So it makes sense to have them available for those trailers in the game as well. Just simply adds more variety to the open-deck trailers.

Re. Livestock: Probably not. Maintaining just this cargo mod alone was more work than I anticipated & honestly, SCS should be the one to take care of their cargo availability... That's one of very few issues I have w/ SCS. They make a new ownable trailer then do jack all for cargo for them & take ages to add new cargoes...

Re. Fuel & Chemtanks: Same as Livestock.

1/2
FunGaming44 17 Dec, 2022 @ 5:16am
btw,. do you need the Flatbed & Dropdeck Container Loads mod ?? Because there are default ingame trailers that can do this that you can own are there not ???
FunGaming44 17 Dec, 2022 @ 5:12am
Can you do the same for livestock, there is hardly any cargo and when there is you have to be there most of the time within 5 minutes. Also some for Fuel would be great
Old Timer 16 Dec, 2022 @ 10:30am
Thank you!
Sanguinem Luna  [author] 16 Dec, 2022 @ 9:44am
I've updated the mod. See the Change Notes tab for full details, but here's a quick overview:
- Added support for applicable Texas companies.
- Artificially inflated cargo availability by adding Foodtank cargo into and out of air terminals and sea ports. (I found my cargo very rarely in Texas, so this is an attempt to solve this. Please tell me if y'all feel this is too unrealistic or bloats the cargo market to much and I will revert those changes.)
- Swapped the Recycled Water (Non-Potable) and Waste Water cargoes to the Chemtanker.

Enjoy!

Eventually, yes. Currently taking a break from modding as I'm kind of getting burned out.
MercilessFir 29 Nov, 2022 @ 6:39am
@Sanguinem Luna Will the mod be updated companies in Texas DLC?
