If you're really observant, you can tell the crisis with many ways, but all of those can be contributed to different things like unyelding tradition tree. Also decreased war exhaustion gain is given at only level 2.

@Winterbloom I think features like this were planned, I saw mentions of "crisis paths", one of which is deception. I assume the dlc got rushed and they didn't have enough time to finish all of the ideas they had with it.

oh, I mean the "This Empire has a Casus belli against us" Notficiation, I noticed it when I installed the mod and some ai picked the crisis ascension perk.

Crisis casus belli notification is only given to the crisis empire, other empries don't even have any "End Threat" casus bellis when someone becomes crisis, even at level 5
Crisis Aspirant is only given at level 5.

Really nice mod, though wouldn't the non crisis players be able to find out who picked it due to the casus belli notification? and through the "crisis aspirant" empire type
