Yo Papple2 are you gonna dust off those building gauntlets for SE2? I'd be interested to see what a unified grid system will do for your designs!

It is something indeed, I hope your dry design spell gets over soon, but ik how much of a pain that can be.

As for inspiration, have you ever heard of the Culture? Its quite hard to find the material unless you know the specific key-words on google images, but check this out, it might get you interested

Things have been busy for me lately irl. Combine that with a dry spell for design inspiration and I'm not playing much SE atm. I haven't stopped building entirely, but things have slowed down a lot.

@Asheram Ah, no worries. I try to do what I can, but I can definitely miss things, and WF2 upended a lot of long-standing practices with ship design.
As for refueling, hm, hadn't considered fueling it from that orientation. Actually I'm not sure why I didn't add a second connector on the opposite side from the airlock with a camera. Seems like that would be handy and I've done it before.

No, I reckon that was my mistake. I did some test runs with it and using it properly with proper angle on the hostiles it works excellently.
One thing I did find though was that it was a bit difficult to refuel when landed. Pondering removing one of the thrusters to install a connector (and camera) on the bottom.

@Asheram Thanks. Also regarding the armor issue, is there anything that seems particularly vulnerable? With my smaller ships I try to keep things less heavily armored, but if there is a glaring weakness, especially post WF2, I'd like to know about it.

Absolutely love your "upright" designs for your ships where so many go for the horizontal one. 10/10.
Edit: Though if I would make a complaint it's that it's a bit underarmored.

@silver.talon Thanks! Wish I could do the paint scheme a bit better, but I think its an overall improvement. Also that's an interesting modification, I hope it works well.

@Papple2 Hey man, I like this one! Its quite different with more weapons and a compact interior. I run weaponcore with just vanilla weapons and I snuck back in some side rocket lauchers. I also traded one of the H2 tanks for a large reactor for my shields mod to give some umph. The plan is to make a stealth platform for spotting targets for strike missions. I took out the main antennas just for this purpose, the laser antennia's are still there. She'll be quite the shadow. I excited for the next ship!

@reddtherage No problem, this is a fine place to reach out. Might be able to find me on discord as well, I'm in quite a few SE related servers. As for the ship suggestion, I probably won't do that for KDI. A custom railgun turret doesn't seem very practical for vanilla, at least not as much as the regular turrets. I would like to do something larger with RAS and the AWE modpack, but that might be a bit until weaponcore is sorted out.
I'm hoping to eventually get to some larger KDI ships again. It is taking some time though, as I'm trying to make sure I avoid issues with the new WF2 mechanics. Probably won't be hard to modify it with a custom railgun turret of your choosing though. I'll be trying to keep such things in mind.

so i was trying to figure out a way i could get a hold of you so i would not have to post my suggestion here. but i don't want to overstep...i was wondering is it posible for a expanse themed rail gun dreadnought/battleship for Knight mare Defense. something with rotating battleship cannons, like the UN Trueman class
