@mesi I will upload a version for 1.6 soon. The issue stems from one of the methods being renamed in the new update.

This seems to basically work on 1.6, but is breaking the social tab in my migrated save. It gives these errors for every world ideoligeon:

@Coolchilion It was removed. The was has been redesigned to only add Natural meditation type with the precept. This was done due to a variety of concerns regarding implementation and design (should I make sure tribal characters are left with at least one meditation type, or just add artistic to them? Should spacer pawns have artistic focus removed to keep it exlusive with natural? etc.). I dedided to keep the mod as simple as it ought to have been from the start.

If you really want tribals to not have Natural focus in your game it can be done with a simple patch mod that removes requiredBackstory and incompatibleBackstory nodes from Artistic and Natural MeditationFocusDefs. Has the mod settings been removed? I wanted to disable innate natural meditation for tribals but I can't seem to find the setting

Hello.
This mod has not been working for me on 1.4.
When I check "initial tribal background for natural" (i.e. all tribals get natural), ALL pawns, even spacer ones with no tribal background, get the natural focus. This even happens in ideologions that don't have tree connection.
Is there something that I am missing, or is this a bug?

Hey, I want a functionality where anyone without bionics can use anima trees. But anyone with bionics cannot use anima trees. But I'm really crap at C#. Can I borrow your code for making this?

nice but it's really a pity that text ( for options ) is hard coded in the dll, it prevents any translation of the mod (even if there is almost nothing to translate ;) )

Though in case you actually ment it when you wrote meme, the mod doesn't change any memes, just the "Trees: Desired" Precept.

For some reason the mod do not work for me. But i do have a huge mod list. I get the mods settings under mod options. but the meme do not change.

@RedPine It would be as simple as modifying a two strings from "Trees_Desired" to whatever is the defName of the precept you want.

How hard would it be to modify your mod to give the Natural meditation type to the Skullspikes Desired precept, or to an entirely new precept? So far I haven't made anything more complicated than XML patches, and am curious as to how much work goes into .dll assemblies.

Well, Hastur, I do have the Ideology Expanded mod. There is actually a precept named "Psychic Focus" which actually has features like
1. heightened or lowered psychic sensitivity
2. meditation is "exquisite" (faster psyfocus gain + recreation)
3. faster psyfocus gain (overall)
4. leader: best psycaster (highest level of psycast is the leader)

It's really cool to make an ideology that does something like
"Collectivist + Psychic Focus + Tree Connection" to make something like a communal, psychic order that are one with nature (Anima Tree and Gauranlen Trees included).

This might be beyond the scope of this mod but it would be nice if there was a precept that desired having psy powers to go along with this, creating effectively a 'desire connection with anima tree' precept.

I have complex feelings about this mod, which is why I am hesitant to install it right now.
On one hand, it really, *really* sucks that your crashlanded (New Arrivals) faction plus anyone from a non-tribe won't ever, ever, ever be able to use the Anima Tree for Psylink. It's annoying because I recently don't bother with the Empire, and I would like my non-tribals to get Psylinks without sucking-up to the Empire or stealing the tech.

I do feel like any ideology that respects the trees should use the Anima Tree (especially if they are already psychically attached to the Guaranlen Trees). However, I don't want to lose the only real option with tribal starts for Psylinks if I decide not to have the one-and-only precept that allows it.

Maybe I'm not thinking properly with the balancing, but I have wanted to roleplay Cybernetic Druids one time only to find out that they like the Guaranlen Trees but can't do anything with the Anima Tree lol.

Would be nice if this also works with the Animist Ideoligion Structure. (That should honest be in vanilla..)

I also agree with the others that it could just be done for both the Precept and Tribals. An optional setting (or even a separate mod..) that just flicks that switch would be a perfect solution for all parties here :mhwgood:

If you want to play tribals that venerate Anima tree you can just give your ideology the Trees: Desired precept. As I pointed out in the description, this precept doesn't require tree connection meme so you can go for it with any meme combination for your tribal game. The only condition is that your tribe respects the trees. If they don't, the Anima doesn't respect them *shrug*.

I don't want to enable it for both to avoid this mod just making things easier. See Motivation paragraph.

+1 to this, would be weird to start a tribal run that doesn't venerate trees/nomad run that lost all access to psylink powers

Also, if I make ask, what exactly do you input to allow Meditation Types? I ask this because I am reviving a Mod that adds custom Backstories and I wanted them to allow Meditation too.

This is something I wanted ever since Ideology dropped. I'd gotten around it using mods to enable Natural meditation for everyone but I forget to turn it off after. This will just add a nice bit of QoL to my games. Thank you!
