BIG UPDATE FOR 1.12!

Now you can reroll all the religions of all the countries in the world. I also added an option called "Free Willy" which will release and set all vassals of every nation free. :D

I got off my lazy butt and decided to update. Religious wars got a lot of love this time!

I added a religion randomizer. How cool is that? You can now play as a Nahuatl Portugal and sacrifice all your neighboors to the angry gods, or you can be a nordic swede and beat Russia into submission.

I have been doing a lot of beta testing on it, and I'm actually having a lot of fun. The different religions really change the dynamics of each region in very interesting ways.

The HRE tends to break down since a non-christian Emperor disables it. Would you like me to keep Austria Catholic for future versions?

UPDATE!!! Added a new CB: Religious War. You need to pick religious ideas and this CB will allow you to convert countries from other religious groups for 80% of the normal cost.

The triggered modifiers names are "CITY NAME_follow the tru faith". I have 3 times Aleppo with muslim (Otoman) side.

Hi Koro, i have a litlle error found on your mod. When i am Catholic or merchant no prob in the triggered modifiers but when i Muslim i have 3 times Aleppo for the same objectif name. When you look at what is needed to triggered it, the city name is Jerusalem and alendria to active it. I have tried to play only with your mod enable and triggers still read 3 times Aleppo. This is only with Muslim side. Can you fix it please? Great mod by the way.

That's a Vanilla CB. :) But do take a look at the code, they are quite easy to understand.

i completelty forgot to, one of the ideas, religious ideas or something like that, gives you a permanent CB against heathen neighbors, so thats kinda what i was thinking, anyway sorry for buggying you, take it easy

Haha, yeah, and it was not even my idea. Some guy asked how to do it, and after writing the simple code I decided to save it upload it, but it took me less than 2 minutes to write it. xD

That is beyond my current modding abilities. I have not added CBs to any of mods, so I'm not sure how the mechanics work. But I can tell you I learned most of what I know by reading these guys:

or maybe something like giving HRemperor the ability to wage war against member states if they wont convert. after this peace deal thing within the HRE all christian faiths are accepted and i would like be able to try and make the empire all united under one faith, if that is possible

anyway to add a CB, to say i am a catholic country and would like to declare war, on a protestant or reformed christian country, for that very reason, not being catholic, or vice versa, with any faith

Yeah, it's just adding one line. The problem is, when I update EU4 crashes and the mod won't upload. I tested all but southamerican nations in a 3 hour MP game and they worked fine, so the problem is not on my end...

If only paradox would fix old issues before adding new ones...

Shadow Dragon: I tested them all with Res Publica. Only the HRE one suffered a bit in functionality after the no non-european HRE mod, but it still works fine. Also, all my mods are compatible with each other so feel free to run more than one at the same time.

Gojira71798: I somehow missed your suggestion. It would break compatibility with all the big mods out there, so it's not on my plans. Anyhow, make a copy of the mod and copy defines.lua inside the "common" folder. Then use a text editor to change END_OF_CRUSADES = 1650 for whatever year you want them to end. Hope this helps!

Giffica: It's -2 to tolarence of true faith/heathens/heretics depending on who yo're fighting for. And about the second part, I'm not sure. Luther was very pro-jewish until he realized he couldn't convert them. Then he started preaching against them. But even so, you're right. On my last game I couldn't convert it back to Orthodox... I'll remove the catholic penalty on the next one.

Also, the only thing about Constan is that I feel Catholics shouldn't take a hit from it. Orthodox? Sure. Protestant and Reformed? Especailly not. They almost wanted the Ottomans to be aggressive towards Catholic Austria to further their own gains. Would it not make more sense to give them incentive to attack the ottomans (casus belli, bonuses) rather than giving negative hits? AI doesn't recognize those incentives. Only players. But a casus belli AI would recognize. Also, the bigger thing is that .3-4% less conversion is significant when converting a place like Kiev, Moscow, Wien or France. Also, realistically, when you attack the ottomans you release Byzantium and feed them back constan so it's free to get the city, but you sit with it FOREVER while it's Sunni. I couldn't ever convert it. It just wasnt POSSIBLE is the bigger issue. Even with Religious ideas.

The prestige hit is from going to war against heathens/heretics, is it not? Maybe I COMPLETELY misread that, but I thought it was +1% morale/discipline, and -2 (i think?) prestige per year? Granted, if you are winning you make well more than 2 prestige per year from winning battles, but still.

The religious mod should not lower your prestige, just increase unrest. The prestige hit is probably from succession wars, which in turn is necessary to prevent too many unions on Ausria and others.

I know the Constantinople hit will happen, I want to give incentive to catholics to defend it. If you lose it to Islam you lose a little, and if you convert it to Catholicism you gain a little and Islam gets a penalty, so it balances out in the long run. All things considered, Christians have much more to gain from this mod, since taking all the holy cities will give them a huge boost to their priests. Taking Mecca and Medina will give them a -1% priest hit too! But do feel free to suggest a better mechanic. :)

I'm really glad you're enjoying succession wars. It's really fun to see the big powers starting world wars to fight over a very small country.

Dynamic HRE is AWESOME. My poland game i joined, (which happens normally without the mod) and France as well.

Regarding succession wars. I loved the fact I was Poland, but my dynasty fell apart and I got a Habsburg (i was married to Austria). I kept my union over Lithuania. However, Austria also married france, and france got a habsburg. France married Aragon, England MArried Spain, Portugal Married norway. Norway was Integrated into Portugal, Spain was in a union for a few years under england, Aragon fell under my dynasty. I forced a union over France and Austria, and Portugal also fell under a union. (A tiny bohemia did as well). Denmark was the Russian dynasty as well. So it was very interesting and a more hisotrical way that marriages affected the game. Great job!

I also think the negative effect to Catholics for Constantinople being sieged should be removed. It's GOING TO HAPPEN, so I think it should at the last only affect other Orthodox religions. Not catholics. I played a poland game where even AFTER I TOOK IT, i couldn't convert it (I had 50% of hte world under my control at that point, including mecca). I also think the russan succession from the orthodox church should remove that negative effect from them.
I think the bonus for warrings heretics should be 3-4%, and morale should be 5-10% against heathens. 1% is insignificant.

For extra merch, when does that effect kick in? XD I got it randomly, not sure when or why, just wondering why.
