But what kind of mod and your excuse you still haven't answered me. Besides I'm waiting for your answer. I tried your mission but frankly there are few German units. It seems to play a really basic map, I expected. Much more spectacular. I repeat, there are few German troops, I don't understand where the advantage of playing your mod lies.

There is at least one phase where there are no respawn options (I think it's 8 or 9?) you had just finished taking to top of the hill and were pushing back down to the beach on the far edge with destroyed houses on either side.

I like this very much because its long and there are more landing crafts than the original campaign

I have Increased the heights of the newly updated Net canopy's above gun emplacements and removed the second mission objective on the starting phase of the landing's ( now only one)

overall cool but there are phases where you literally cannot spawn as allies and i refuse to belive its intended

As it was on D Day - - US troops now sadly spend a lot more time getting off the landing beach.

Sea Wall on beach now reduced in height due to changes in wall prop dimensions.
Sherman D-D tanks now back on beach during landings.
New unit starting location map updated in screen shots: - - - showing starting positions for Landing craft and German unit starting positions in strong points.

VERSION 8.0 UPDATED:5/02/2025

Changes:

Some units types and some unit locations have added or changed due to newly acquired WW2 location information, pictures and maps on WN 72 and WN 73.

WN 72 and WN 73 resistance sites reworked to reflect this information.
Anti Tank wall correctly located and added at WN 72.
LCA (Landing Craft Assault) now join LCVP (Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel) landing on the beaches.
Normandy DD Sherman tanks have replaced normal Sherman tanks.
Removed lots of redundant props, terrain landscape props and fix many prop clipping issues.
Introduced US Rangers later in the battle advancing through WN73 and down towards WN72.

When at WN 72 - - - - WATCH OUT ! ! ! for US Rangers coming down from WN 73 location.

How to get faster FPS:
Load the mission then - - Exit back to main menu and restart mission ( will now load in much faster),
Then select single mission ( reduce max units if required ).
Then click on large Gray reverse arrow - - - now the selection arrows will come up for available landing craft.

This is due to a large amount of props to load.

When at WN 72 - - - - WATCH OUT for US Rangers coming down from WN 73

@ Salmon Sashimi- worse for who? on omaha and utah beach Americans had over 6600dead and wounded in 24 hours. by the end of the normandy operation on July 1 the US had 30,000 dead and wounded a little over 3 weeks. Iwo the US sustained around the same amount dead and wounded of close to 30k but in a 5 week period. So, who was it worse for? to me worse is subjective at best and the numbers lost were nearly identical in the battles with the exception of normandy being almost 2 weeks shorter with the same number of men lost as Iwo. to me it sounds like it sucks for both battles. besides how do u label anything combat related as worse? in my personal experience combat sucked and was difficult and any firefight i was in or ambush i was caught it was just as bad as the one 2 days prior.

FLOATING DECAL EXPLOSION TEXTURES above the terrain ISSUE:

Only seen when first starting Easy Red 2 and selecting a custom terrain mission.
Exit the mission back to main menu and then restart mission, Decals are then correctly placed.

Changes to beach landings:
Added an extra start phase ( as landing craft were heading back to ships and not returning with more troops).
Changed beach mission objective locations, time and capture radius - - - this results in US troops spending a lot more time on the beach and re-grouping ( as per history) before they head up the Bluff to attack the German strong point.

Floating textures seen floating 3 meters above the terrain are DECALS : Mud road 1, small explosion and large explosion decals that have not been correctly located on the terrain.
Seems to be random, it may or may not happen when you first load Easy Red 2.
If it happens - Exit the mission back to main menu and then restart mission, Decals are then correctly placed and works OK for me.
Not sure why this has started to happen, possibly a memory loading / prop location issue.
The in-game Editor now has a similar problem with mud road decals on map disappearing on first load, but reappearing correctly after re-loading.
This Mission started development in early 2022 so could be an issue with old props

Hi, the current Version should now display 7.0 and the floating items in the air were explosion and mud road decals. I have noticed this happening a week or so ago and i just restarted the battle then all was OK ( maybe memory load issue).
I have not seen it happen over the last few days, so I hope the issue may has been solved.

I have made major adjustments to many prop position's and due to the welcomed AI path finding updates, i have now made some changes to German and American units and spawn positions.

There are terrain details above the ground, looks like ground textures covering something invisible in a boulder type formation all over the beach.

Hi, many thanks for reporting this nebelwerfer issue, the culprit was indeed the sandbags in front of the battery which has now been removed, this will now allow the battery to fire lower onto the beach.
I have played the nebelwerfer battery and now seems to be working fine.

question or bug tho- the 2 neblewerfers seem to be killing themselves quite often - is there anyway that can be fixed? it seems they get 1-2 volleys out and then kill themselves with a barrage.

the culprit seems to be the sandbags directly in front of the nebelwerfer battery - when the team tries to adjust their aim too low - they will always kill themselves with friendly fire

I Have been on Omaha beach and on the other beaches and have visited the rest of Normandy over numerous years and i am a historian of these locations.
I have been modding maps for many years that accurately represent what it was like on the day that certain events happened in WW2.

HI, HAVE UPDATED THE LANDING BEACH: 6TH SEPTEMBER 2024

Changed locations of some beach props and terrain props.
Relocated landing ships and some landing craft for a longer run into beach.
No more props can now be added to this map as the maximum number allowed has been reached.

Holy Shit, I mean no hate at all towards the devs, in fact I love them. That aside, this is the best/ most acurate/ best populated (with objects i mean) map in the entire game, including all community made levels and dev made. How?? You should be working with the devs

If you enjoyed playing “OMAHA BEACH” – YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN THE FOLLOWING:

D-Day – Sword Beach:
You will need to Subscribe and download the “test sword” map and then subscribe to one of the following 4 missions currently available for the Sword Beach landings in order:
V1 - is No. 4 Commando
V2 - is 2nd East Yorks
V3 – is 1st SSB Commandos
V4 – is 1st Suffolk Regiment

This Normandy map is to scale and is historically and geographically correct for 1944, as are the location of the towns and all the German strong points.

Nice to see a proper version of the Omaha - Pt. Du Hoc region of beachhead. So sick of the "geographically censored for balance" versions that are more suitable for Juno.

Yeah i was gonna say the same thing. The scaling is way off on this mod and way too easy to reach the enemy line. Went back to the original and realised the pacing of it is much better. Game developers know what they're doing.

What do you mean? The developer at least based it off what the beach actually looks like. This is some arcadey Saving Private Ryan version that's nothing like the real Omaha Beach

This version of Normandy is significantly better than the developers. Its actually the best map in the game. You got the scale right. Developer needed way more troops, way more clutter, smoke, obstacles, bombardments, etc. The only problem is this is the new standard, I have now seen what the game can be. Which means my options on maps for replayability are limited now. I was enjoying the game for what it was. But your map showed me it can actually be GOOD, not just OK This one map outdoes the entire Normandy DLC....I hope to see many more from you and I hope the developer copies you some and brings better quality maps.

I feel like the tanks are a bit to much sometimes considering the ai now get off of guns and dont get back on, making the landings a lot more easier than when i first played this map.

Sword Beach : No4 commando mission - - My aim with this mission and future ones is to show what actually happened to a certain Allied units on D-Day, so the player can relive what it was like to have been on SWORD BEACH on that day, the map of Normandy is to scale and historically and geographically correct for 1944.
