This is why I use (and even at some point fixed) some of the mods FU blatantly stole from, so I can have their cool features without making my pack incompatible with 90% of the workshop

i agree FU changes to much about starbound if the FU modpack was module and you could pick what you want from the pack would be good but its not and dev has been questionable lol

@Oмεяυıп Tried viewing the descriptions of "rage" on Hisuian Zoroark through Race traits viewer and it tells nothing, other than the occasional lack of description ingame, using the document works well when hunting for answers

Have you tried using the Race Traits viewer (item or quickbar option) and hovering over specific traits?
They aren't explained in the CC, as that would be too much text. You can find info on the traits on the doc as well, listed in the description!

Some races have unique racial traits (Rage,Avid explorer) and when trying to look through race traits stats ingame its hard to find a description of what they do exactly, am i missing something or do i just have to know what they do, other than that its a nice mod to keep everything fresh and exciting

It'll tell you in-game in the Race Traits viewer, or on the spreadsheet, but:
"This edited version of the vanilla swimboost doesn't have the character jumping several feet upwards at once when swimming."
It's a personal preference thing that a mod author requested a long time ago.

IMO, racial trait mods work best if they don't include any negatives, since that usually screws with balancing a lot more often than positives do, which keeps me from using this mod.

I used to use a trait mod that kept the stat buffs simple with few/no negatives, but I can't find it anymore.
It was super simple, like 20% better jump height and fall resist for Avians, 10% less damage taken by Glitch, humans got, like, a 1% boost to all stats, Florans got a damage buff, Hylotl got water breathing, that kind of thing. Nothing too major, no decreased stats.

If I wasn't a brainlet I'd remake the mod myself, but the most I ever did was a tiny QoL mod years ago that even a toddler probably could've done. Something about coding just slips right off my smooth brain.

@Zernoc To add onto what Omeruin said, you can disable FU's racial stats via SAIL. It's per-character. You can also disable Race Trait's race traits via the Race Trait's race traits "Race Traits Viewer" viewer for viewing racial traits for your race. These are both per-character

This might have been asked a while ago, but how exactly does this mod interact with FU? You did say it was compatible, but how do the racial traits from this and from FU work? do they both apply? If yes, is it additive or multiplicative?

For instance, Avali have +40% ice resist and -40% fire resist from both FU and this mod. Would that end up being +/-80% or +/-64% resist?

Not really a bug, more like an oversight? I'm working on an update right now, and a surprising amount of races have incorrect/not matching stats. Very upsetting!

Checking in over here now that I have the chance to look at the race traits spreadsheet!
I noticed that "Underwater Breathing" wasn't present for Octolings; it's possible that I missed that in my form, but that's definitely something they should have. Everything else looks correct so far, thanks for your hard work + I'm looking forward to the update that includes all of my mod's races :)

I was wondering if the protogen race redux mod is currently being worked on or already implemented? Because I opened my race traits viewer on a new protogen character I made with that mod installed and it says it doesn't have support, and I saw a collection that had supported races and the protogen race redux mod was in there

Sure, sure. It’s a race collection with encounters. I was already aware of that when i read the collections linked to it.
But it IS a collection you put together and you linked it to the race traits supported collection which can lead people to believe it’s supported by race traits…which was my point.
As i said before, not a big deal i already made my own support for the mod anyways. Good day.

Uhhh... No? That's a totally different collection... That collection is about race mods with ENCOUNTERS (dungeons). It's linked to a few other collections of mine in case people are interested in race mods that have "actual content" outside of the CC. That race is not a part of "Race Traits: Supported Races" Collection DIRECTLY nor listed on the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet is the more "official" way of seeing which races have support, too.

Yeah, i wasn't asking for you to. The USCM armour has a whopping 99 defense but it's balanced by its slow effect.

I was wondering, though has someone ever thought of making a damage resistance cap mod ?
Not something like armor rescla,e just a cap that prevents you from going above 90 or 95.
