I love this mod. The challenge of setting the sun to die in 3-5 years and having to set up a colony deep in the mountains with hydroponics in order to barely cling on in a harsh world. Its amazing.

Hi ! I love the mod, thanks for it ! I noticed something a bit annoying : the climate change event deletes any geological feature or point of interest that was on the map before. It seems weird that a mountain circus or an underground bunker storage would disappear with the cold.
I also go to a place marked as a temperate forest with poplar tree grove on the equatorial part of the planet, and there wasn't a single standing tree (temperature were around -3°C).
Could you look into what is causing these, please ? It is a bit damageable with Odyssey as it sucks the fun out of moving around the map

I love the events here, they really add to the stories your colonies can produce. But some events feel a bit over-tuned, or way too extreme for their relative frequency. Climate change (warming/cooling) in particular feel insanely intense in comparison to VEE, and while I thematically love the death of the sun, in practice I think having it be an event that can end (however unlikely it might be) would make for a bit more of an enjoyable experience.

The latter might be a bit harder to manage (or far more unrealistic and outside the scope of changes), but maybe there could be a slider for "climate change intensity" that affects the temperature equilibrium that climate change moves towards? E.g. instead of +/-80C for the equilibrium, you could set it to +/-10C, 20C, et cetera. That way, you only get the Frostpunk-esque freezes or searing planet-wide deserts after successive climate change events.

@SKETCH If you have Vanilla Events Expanded installed, the Allowed Incidents settings show up under its settings instead.

hey the allowed incidents tab is empty when i bring it up,nothing shows in that menu is there some way of making it show? and for context it has not shown up at all since putting it in, any help would be awesome thank you :)

you could add a dormant nuke activation event so the planet turns into fallout mid run

Would appreciate a way to set a limit on how cold it can get under certain events like Ice age or death of the star events :)

GOOD GOD I GOT HIT WITH ICE AGE FROM VAN-EVENTS EXPANDED AND CLIMATE CHANGE AROUND 6 MONTHS APART

THEN ONE WORRYSOME MINING DAY MY
FUCKING SUN STARTED DYING
SO NOW I HAVE 3 COLD CLIMATE RELATED EVENTS THAT WILL LIKELY LAST 4 YEARS OR MORE

BOY AM I GLAD I LIVE IN SPACE CAUSE THE SURFACE TEMPATURE IS -274C

I have to agree with every one else. having to deal with 100C temps is a bit much.(Plus i pretty much only get mech raids)
Bringing the vent down to do 40C increments at most instead of 80C might be better.

Hi i like the events a lot. I was wondering if it might be possible for us to get settings to edit the likely hood of such events and to limit how long some events go for like global warming/ ice age. If not I was wondering if we could see the numbers behind the scenes a bit to know likely hood and how long things can last.

My Boreal Forest got turned into a blazing uninhabitable desert with a 80 degree temperature change... wtf

Started a new game - got climate change again. This time it went to 80+ degrees - thankfully I live not in a desert. Very cool seeing the world transform but really 80+ degrees? I feel like even 50 or 60 degrees would be tough - my energy budget was going to coolers.
Finally got myself gravtech - assembled a ship and blasted for the alluring Sky Lands above me to escape the fire hellhole the world become :D

Hmm... I got climate change. Said it was aiming for -80. I saved the game when it had reached ~-20 and quit for the day. Got back to playing next day and notice after some time temperature is no longer sinking. Does not say climate change anywhere. Most of the world is an iceball. Will it ever thaw or did the event get broken on save?

I found this mod on discord and forgot where I saw it. I tried searching "Event" in the workshop and went through all 14 pages but could not find this. Then I checked discord and found it again. If you are able to update the keywords to find the mod in the workshop it might help with visibility.

But I am excited to start playing with this.

I understand this mod won't get 1.6 any time soon, but I'd like to continue my 1.5 campaign. What can I do? By description, the mod cannot be removed. Can I doctor the save in some way?

As I understand and see, the fact that the planet itself is changing due to climate change is, without a dispute, the best mechanics. But the question is - if glaciers melt due to global warming, what will happen to the colonists if they live on a glacier?

1.6 completely changed the logic of the map. In order to fully update the mod, you actually need to write it from scratch. This is not a priority now
