Having the same problem, and I'm pretty sure everything should already be in English on account of it's the only language I can read. Having this issue with other mods for this game.

The same - mod pack downloads, and mod icon fails....
Ghuldarkar 22 Dec, 2015 @ 10:13pm
Mod Icon download error too here, unfortunately I have everything on english and no more special symbols apart from the standard ascii table, so i have no idea what is happening. As to other mods, I'm only running renaissance mod (and the water terraforming one that renaissance requires).

Good mod. I keep trying to kill him for the achievement but some random monsters always get him before I even meet him!

I have solved the problem which I wrote down below. Its was just my case, but I hope this might help the others who have same problem like mine.
Users who use "non-english" Steam ID could possibly have crush problems when downloading mods. I have changed the Steam ID to "King in the Red End" from Korean ID and it works properly now. This doesnt happen to all mods but very very few does.
Well, it was my first crush here xD.
So someone who has problem with downloading the mod, please chech your Steam ID first. And if it doesn't help, check steam installation root and your user name in pc.
Make them ALL ENGLISH. EVERYTHING!!

Oh, and thank you for reply Azrail. I see there is no problem with your creation. just my ID.

@King in the Red End First time I've heard about this problem. I have taken a look and can't seem to find nor reproduce the problem. Are you using any other mods? Have you checked to see if you might have any problems your end? I Can't fix a problem if I can't find it but if you can figure out whats gone wrong I should be able to solve it.

It seems there is some problem with downloading the icon of this mod. The auto subscribe download process always has an error when downloading the icon of this mod. is there anyway that I can get through with this problem?

Nice boosts.

yeah his stats looked abysmall for being a "you only get this at start"
Azrail  [author] 16 Aug, 2014 @ 1:19pm
@sva88 This wasn't so much aimed at the game mode as it was the difficulty. This makes playing normal and hard mode more possible as he would normally struggle horribly.
Dis-member 15 Aug, 2014 @ 3:47am
he is not that underpowered. you just don't want to play him in the exiled game mode
Xgaad 23 Jul, 2014 @ 3:18pm
good one, makes me want to try using this guy again
Azrail  [author] 28 Jun, 2014 @ 6:35pm
@Hobophobe Thats due to the range of the spells. Anything that has a range of 1 counts as a melee attack and that allows the target to retaliate.
Groglox 28 Jun, 2014 @ 8:52am
Is there any particular reason that Tel takes damage when he uses his breath abilities? Mages, etc don't take damage when they use ranged abilities. This makes him still seem really weak to me.
Chronoreaper 22 May, 2014 @ 2:49am
yea i got back ups of my mods ive made, and im a general modder just not a coding one though pray my diploma course teaches me that if ya wanna see my work look up the ratmen or demon factions those two are mine lol
Azrail  [author] 22 May, 2014 @ 2:46am
@Chronoreaper If you do try your hand at modding and at code writting I wish you luck, we need more good modders out there.
Some friendly advice, ALWAYS make backups, I've lost files to corruption before when modding and it's really frustrating when it happens.
Chronoreaper 22 May, 2014 @ 1:23am
thansk for the quick reply and honestly im staying away from the game code for the time being only time ill go near it is when introducing ingame models that dont exist yet, i might just do the starting lord perk instead cause i was refering to the capital park of Tal himself so instead of a city you get a big unit
Azrail  [author] 22 May, 2014 @ 1:21am
@Chronoreaper Yeah, thats why I had to buff his perks and not him directly. It is possible to create a great mage perk like his but you'd have to mess around with the coding outside of the in-game editor and that can cause all sorts of problems like corrupted files and the like if your not careful.

There are some mods already that make new great mage perks so it might be worth asking the author of one of them as I'm still a bit new to coding outside of editors but in theory all they would need to do is change the unit ID from tal kalessil to that of another units ID. The new unit would need to be marked as the capital but the code for that should be in tal kalessil's unit data so if the authors skilled enough he should be able to pull it off quite easily.

Should be easy if you know what your doing, I'm new to coding and I'd rather not risk uploading anything potentially harmful till I know what I'm doing.
Chronoreaper 22 May, 2014 @ 12:22am
can i ask a question since you managed to buff Tal up is it possible to create a great mage perk like his that works the same? cause dlc content doesnt exist properly in the editor
Azrail  [author] 20 May, 2014 @ 11:55pm
@Kistaro Yeah, thats something I've also noticed. Tried to fix it and I am currently working on a possible work around. However I think the main problem may be with the debuffs themselves hard coded only to apply onto a single target (still checking the code to make sure) so I'm gonna try a few things like writing new ones from scratch and seeing if that fixes anything but until then it is REALLY gonna bug me till I've fixed it.
Kistaro 20 May, 2014 @ 9:47pm
This makes playing as the Primordial Dragon much more enjoyable. Thank you for producing and uploading this mod. One question. Are the ability debuffs intended to be placed only upon the enemy that was attacked directly? I had intuitively expected the debuff to apply to every enemy caught in the line of effect, but it seems to be applying only to one at a time.
Mersadeon 20 May, 2014 @ 7:01am
This came at the perfect time - I just tried the Dragon Incarnation out and he was terribly weak.

(Won't help against the game ALWAYS spawning the Ice Queen right next to my first city, though -__-)
Azrail  [author] 19 May, 2014 @ 6:00pm
@KruhlSentru that way the idea. Wanted to make him stronger without making him overpowered. Only problem is he is literally the only unit you have until you capture a city so balancing him for each difficulty is extremely tricky. However I am happy with these small changes I made. Had to resist the urge to completely remake each and every one of his upgrade perks but I'm saving that for later once I decide what I'm going to do with him.
KruhlSentru 19 May, 2014 @ 10:46am
Nice work! I just started up a game yesterday with him to try him out, and was a bit disappointed with how weak he was. I think these upgrades will be a good benefit, giving him a little bit more survivability, and at least some combat abilities. To be honest, though, on impossible difficulty, I think he'd be better off as a sort of "hard to find" capitol instead of a combat unit, as he'd get dropped in one turn if the enemy had sufficient forces. Still, these smaller changes I think will make him more appropriate as a viable alternative, without any major imbalancing.
