you have to fix every junction manually, sometimes converting to point mode helps, at other times you have to redo the junction completely

oh alright my bad how do i fix this then
muxi  [author] 15 Aug, 2023 @ 7:16am
this is with every pre 1.9 savegame and also with the standard tracks from the game, that's not a mod issue
Class 455/8 14 Aug, 2023 @ 1:45pm
huh maybe its just the 1.9 update well its just i went on a save which was entirally this and every single junction was broken, i can send a screenshot if you want

What do you mean with broken? In my savegame the mod is working fine. Some junctions broke due to the 1.9 update, but this has nothing to do with the mod itself, but with the way, how nodes are working.

@Muxi I have found out how you can prevent the road layout going over the tracks of tram track mods: In the built version you should ONLY define the "base" of the road, NOT all three layers. Then the road is only pasted in the lowest layer (base) and the rails of your and other track mods go just over them! Meanwhile the road still looks like a road and works like a road.

My solution was:

base=textures/base.png
sleepers=@stock/common/empty.png
rails=@stock/common/empty.png

for all the built ones and

base=textures/base_bp.png
sleepers=textures/base_bp.png
rails=@stock/common/empty.png

for the blueprints...

I messed around with sidelines, it gets a bit ugly, when it gets to junctions, but I try to do a workaround.

Also, one succession for users: When you want to parent-attach these roads, the best value for the distance is 3.75 m apart. Not the normal 5m, that produces a gap. And yes, on main roads you will want to use two road "tracks", so that the busses can pass each other ;)

There is just one problem with this road tracks. When I for example want to build a Tram Track... they are layered UNDER your road. I don't know why, but your roads are always the dominant layer. Even when you for example put a combined road-tram-track at a crossing and pass a normal road crossing it... the normal road deletes visually the tram tracks where they meet.

I have a question, aesthetically: Would it be possible to also provide a version of your "tracks" with side lines? Because then you could really build realistic looking roads with it :D. At least the 50, 70, 100, 130 and Autobahn version (30 km/h normally don't have side lines)

Also because you are great with your mods, a future succession:
- Playroad (only 10 km/h) and cobblestone road (20 km/h) ;)
