Thanks for testing.

Nice map! I didn't need to go through the final fizzler or press the final button . I just leapt across with the cube .

Good except for the side throw, :steamhappy:figured the rest out

I tend to leave at least two or three ways to solve my puzzles so long as they don't allow the player to skip major portions of it. I released this one so long ago I don't remember what the intended solution is anymore.

Thanks for testing.

Very nice short puzzle, Andi. I still can't believe how long it took me to understand I needed to toss the cube during the fling between faith plates. I see by Brave's comments I didn't solve it the intended way, but I'm still happy as a clam.

Thanks

You should have posted a warning: Normal Rules Do Not Apply. I liked the use of the Faith Plate to reach the pedestal button.

I'm GLaD you liked it.
Chelliste 22 Mar, 2015 @ 9:55pm
A couple things here were so outside-the-box that I thought I was exploiting when I did them, but it turns out that's what the author intended. I love puzzles like that.

I also like doing things in mid-flight (as long as I can try over and over!) but I confess I didn't think I could accomplish the cube toss. I'm pretty bad at that even when I'm standing still. That's why I thought it was an exploit when I pulled it off.
Andi  [author] 5 Nov, 2014 @ 9:05am
If I remember right, It's in the hallway leading from the exit to the main body of the test. The standard cube must be sitting on the cube button to open the door.
kimist108 4 Nov, 2014 @ 6:56pm
Where is the companion cube? Is it in the high up enclosed room with the laser lights on the floor?
The Sojourner 5 Sep, 2014 @ 2:33am
No problem; I've made my fair share of counterintuitive tests :P
Andi  [author] 2 Sep, 2014 @ 12:45pm
I knew this was going to be a problem for some players but I was so far into it design wise I couldn't figue out another sotuion, sorry about that.
The Sojourner 1 Sep, 2014 @ 2:04am
One of the few I couldn't solve because of the cube throwing, which I don't like due to its resemblance to speedrunning/glitch techniques.
Talisac 22 Aug, 2014 @ 2:45am
Nice design, nice puzzle, thumbs up!

At my first try, I 've bring sphere into middle room, used blue gel on it and thrown it into the glass bridge.. But tell your blue-sphere to stay quiet into that button! :(

If you can have a look and a feedback to one of my maps.. (Franken to the rescue, Cycle or a coop one), that would be nice!

I liked the jump in the end! Cool map!

I realized that I replied to your request on my own workshop item. Whoops!

This was a challenge for me at first. I could see what needed to be done, but I could NOT figure out how to do it. The cube flinging was a nice touch. I still can't figure out how you made the panel shut when I walked into the chamber on the right--is that a Hammer thing? In any case, once I figured it out, everything fell into place. Very satisfying!
Andi  [author] 13 May, 2014 @ 4:37pm
Thank you very much.
Brave 13 May, 2014 @ 3:24pm
Hi Andi, i'm not sure if UFS FrostGiant answer your question about the reflection gel, but this works for me!
Anytime you install or reinstall the Beemod always run your (Puzzle Maker Style Changer) first then click (Clean) style and ok, and open portal 2!
Launch your puzzlemaker and run the map and you'll se the reflection gel works in the puzzlemaker map, then you should be good to go then you can
chang the styles anytime you want or use Bee2 alpha application.
If you don't know where it is, look for it in portal 2 main directory and you'll find it there.
Andi  [author] 13 May, 2014 @ 9:25am
Thanks for playing, you solved it in the intended way.
Brave 11 May, 2014 @ 12:02pm
Fun map Andi!
What I did to solved, was put the cube on the grating at the goo already having my bounce gel in place in front of the cube button, and the acceleration gel behind the cube button, then I ran jump over the cube button onto the bounce gel and grab the solid cube to fling myself over to the exit!
Andi  [author] 11 May, 2014 @ 9:59am
Thanks for playing and thanks for the comments.

@Kizzycocoa Thanks for your candor and I appreciate your observations.
Kizzycocoa 11 May, 2014 @ 9:03am
I just found out how to start, with the faith plate. it needs a hell of a lot more hinting than it got! put lights or something around the entrance!

I also did the cube flinging. I personally do not like doing it. I won't deny, it worked smoothly, but I prefer to not have random chance play into the maps.

I had a lot of fiddly issues with the end, to. I decided to reenable the bounce gel before I went, but realised I neede the cube. I repositioned it to the opening of the backup door, and realised there was a fizzler. so then I realised I could jump with the cube. personally, I think that should be refined down. that's not figuring stuff out, that's just adding hurdles, and while both seem similar, it's these ones, the ones that promote the "I'm stupid" feel over the "oh THAT'S how", which should be avoided.

overall, once I found out how to start, a very nice puzzle. my only gripes were the cube tossing and what you needed to do to get the cube across, with no other options
ZAEROS 11 May, 2014 @ 3:19am
I used the Faith plate to access the 2 high buttons instead of portal jumping. Did not know throwing while flinging was possible but worked first time! Biggest problem was not avoiding the cube button on final leap but got there eventually.Enjoyed, Thank you.

i See What You Did With The GLaD ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Kizzycocoa 10 May, 2014 @ 4:25pm
Well, I have no portal able surfaces in reach aside from the floor and mid-walls in the main room, I have access to a place that bounces me across the room and back with no portal able walls, and the other has a laser thing and a faith plate in a cage. There is nothing online, no gel, no cubes, no spheres and the map has clearly changed since release.

What do :u
Andi  [author] 10 May, 2014 @ 1:30pm
Kizzycocoa, look everywhere. It is solvable.
Kizzycocoa 10 May, 2014 @ 1:08pm
Complete non-starter for me. I cannot reach the buttons, nor do anything else. in other videos posted before, a strip of portalable wall is shown at the top of the chamber. they must have since been removed, because I do not see them at all. I am stuck with no possible solution.
Andi  [author] 10 May, 2014 @ 12:26pm
Thanks for playing, I'm happy to hear you lilked it.
GBMusicMaster 10 May, 2014 @ 12:06pm
Very nicely done. I have a question--how did you build it so that the panel closes when you look back through the faith plate area?

Thumbs ups Andi, like the change how you have to use the faithplate more than once. Simple but fun chamber.
| \_/ () 8 May, 2014 @ 10:21pm
I thought I solved it the unintended way because of the cube throwing and the jumping over the button but after I watched the video I found out that everything in my playthrough is fine. And... actually I've got nothing else to say. Thumbs up!
Andi  [author] 8 May, 2014 @ 2:41am
That's impressive. Change made.

@Fatso How can that be done?
Troodon 7 May, 2014 @ 1:34pm
Loved it Andi! I'm sorry that I did not review it before you published the test, but I think that this test was great! Thank You! =]
Fatso 7 May, 2014 @ 12:57pm
Hey Andi this chamber can be solved with just the cube and bounce gel may need to make fix.
Requiemsoul 7 May, 2014 @ 12:13pm
easy, very funny and enjoyable map. I was thinking to get the sphere. Well done, Andi.
Traveler807 7 May, 2014 @ 10:11am
I thought that cube move would be much more difficult than it turned out to be. I tried to cheat in a similar way to Honest_Cake but didnt succeed. I did think of another exploit that involved painting the ball, but I think thats only possible in theory. Would require a lot of luck and ninja reflexes too:) Thumbs up from me, very entertaining

Great chamber! Lots of fun!
Took me a bit to realize I needed to side-throw the cube, but I felt pretty awesome when I did. :) I did what I think was the intended solution, using all the different elements to the puzzle, but I did find a shortcut. You can skip the Propulsion gel/sphere/faith plate by flinging to get to the button for the cube, activating the Repulsion gel, then flinging onto the gel with the cube. The fling is a little tricky, having to go around the cube button, but it is possible. Other than that, nice and fun test.
Skyferret 6 May, 2014 @ 3:27pm
I didn't think I'd be able to toss that cube into the main chamber while flying from the faith plate, but I actually did it on the first try. The puzzle may be pretty straight forward, but I'd say the logic behind it accommodates it just right.
stormsend 6 May, 2014 @ 3:03pm
The execution may not be too difficult but I struggled for a while to figure out how to do it. I did enjoy playing. The map looks great. I looked for the cc but to no avail. Thank you and I'll see ya round the workshop.
Andi  [author] 6 May, 2014 @ 2:08pm
Thanks for playing. That is the intended solution. Don't try to change your flight path, just softly toss the cube to the left.
