Did you lower the chances for manhunter packs? I havent seen any since I installed this

fwiw I would be in favour of adding a module onto this to use the vanilla system but allow the settings to be configured. (for instance, making a higher % chance to infect, reducing the time before the infection takes hold, etc.) I think that'd allow a healthier middleground where Scaria is still a much larger threat than in the game vanilla, but not so big of a threat to let a single rabid dog get a few lucky bites and kill your entire colony over one afternoon.

It's definitely personal preference but I think just giving people the option to make the vanilla system more aggressive opens up a good middle ground. (for instance maybe it doesn't apply INSTANTLY, but it only takes like 3 hours for it to take hold. That'd still make the bites incredibly dangerous and top priority to deal with without letting one rabid dog destroy an entire colony with what is essentially a melee berserk psycast.)

Something I've noticed for which I will return to 1.5 with the pain of my soul is that the infected of scaria, whether they are wild men or certain xenotypes that I have of fungi, when they are on the map they do not move, they almost do not go out to look for the uninfected even if they are close, they are very lethargic and do not attack the shambler, in 1.5 even the shambler were infected by scaria they faced them, now my infected let themselves be killed by the shambler, I do not understand why these infected are not in constant movement because they do not seek to destroy walls, because they do not look for food, because they do not seek to finish off my settlers

It's done in a slightly different way. Rather than getting an infected wound which you can tend which can give you Scaria it just gives you scaria. It's a lot more brutal. It also lets you choose the percentage chance of this happening.

The practical answer is not much but it can snowball a lot quicker, usually you're not going to get basegame scaria _in_ combat. This will drive people berserk in the middle of combat. Better for some kinds of zombie playthrough for example. Potentially it might be worth adding a way to tweak that basegame percentage but if everyone is just happy with the basegame setup there won't be much point. Imo we're in a wait and see situation. It might be that we don't need to update to 1.7. But lets see what the community does with it all.
Rex705 20 Jul @ 4:31pm
So what is new and different in this mod now that it is base game?
riiswa  [author] 20 Jul @ 1:06pm
Thank you for the update @Taggerung
Taggerung  [author] 20 Jul @ 12:08pm
1.6 update live on Github. Steam only lets riiswa actually push the update to steam so for now you can grab from Steam
kingrevolucion12 15 Jul @ 4:19pm
En la 1.6 infectados por scaria se atacan entre si, la idea es q entre ellos no se determinen y ataquen a los sanos, te necesitamos, necesitamos tu actualizacion
nikkipuppy10 15 Jul @ 2:12pm
pretty sure all the 07s is because scaria infections are base game now. Congrats? Honestly idk if a modders dream is for their mod to become base game, or smth else entirely
VelxraTV 30 Jun @ 3:08pm

Question - is mental state permanent?
Queen 31 Dec, 2024 @ 7:08pm
Something i noticed is that when humans are infected, they don't bite. I think it would be cool to have other humans bite as well, since that's how the infection propagates.
dipldocus 17 Aug, 2024 @ 4:41pm
100% and this turns into a rimworld rabies virus
Darian Stephens 7 Aug, 2024 @ 4:05am
Could this be made to not affect androids from VRE - Androids?
I sent some out thinking they'd be safe, since no organic material to infect, but even though the didn't get the infection, they still went berserk from bites.
VelxraTV 23 Jul, 2024 @ 2:34pm
thanks for the update
riiswa  [author] 23 Jul, 2024 @ 2:11pm
Finally updated to 1.5, thanks to @Taggerung!

Doomchibi 8 May, 2024 @ 4:32pm
Would this need an update for 1.5?
femoral2 25 Feb, 2024 @ 11:44am
so much fun with this mod, I highly recommend it
Doomchibi 1 Nov, 2023 @ 9:41pm
Also to add- I asked the author of the Silence! mod but figured I'd ask here too, would it be possible to make a pawn unable to bite when wearing either a scold's bridle or gag, possibly also if they are wearing some full face armor (maybe just stuff made of metal or wood)? I was thinking it would be interesting to down and imprison a pawn (or just trapping them in a room if imprisoning isn't possible...) that was infected with scaria and have the ability to prevent them from biting when they wake up? Maybe have mouth coverings degrade faster if they have scaria?
Doomchibi 1 Nov, 2023 @ 9:29pm
Is the infection spread to full-blown scaria instantly or does it start off as an initial "infected" bite and have to reach full severity before the creature actually has scaria and goes berserk?
Gerewoatle 19 Oct, 2023 @ 9:09am
@CTH2004: It does effect humans, and you can adjust the chance of infection in the settings. Speaking from experience, it makes manhunters very, very scary.
CTH2004 19 Oct, 2023 @ 8:48am
Yikes...

Does this effect humans?
If not, it should (perhaps toggleable)

Rabies.. nice
Bam4000 31 Jan, 2022 @ 11:26pm
Will it infect humans?
RayBloodyPurchase 11 Aug, 2021 @ 2:47pm
I personally think 75% was too high and turned it down to 25% after facing a couple manhunters. Overall though love the extra challenge.
Rocky Bukkake 2 Aug, 2021 @ 9:50pm
1.2 version?
Endymion 30 Jul, 2021 @ 8:30am
If only scaria made animals attack other animals, then it could be a true plague
riiswa  [author] 29 Jul, 2021 @ 4:02am
@Mr Porter yes but only by bite.
Comrade Corwin 28 Jul, 2021 @ 8:51pm
Are we trying to make scaria a zombie plague?
Symeon 28 Jul, 2021 @ 5:34pm
Can the infection spread from pawn to pawn?
riiswa  [author] 28 Jul, 2021 @ 2:12pm
Very good idea! I will think about it ;) @Burgerpants
Cybermaster99 28 Jul, 2021 @ 1:18pm
Ah yes, 28 Weeks Later. Any plans on having an event of infected people roaming into your colony?
budisourdog 28 Jul, 2021 @ 4:47am
Ah yes, another justification for the trenches, landmines, punji sticks, plasteel bunkers, RP40 Emplacements and chlorine gas / napalm automortar "defenses" we just installed.
riiswa  [author] 27 Jul, 2021 @ 2:28am
Both 😆
Gray Sanddragon 27 Jul, 2021 @ 1:51am
i will check it of course.. but do the bites only cause the berserk mental break or does it cause Scaria health condition too?
PetLoverSpy 25 Jul, 2021 @ 1:22pm
Thank you!
