Can't get either version to work in Oldrim, after following directions. Might be a follower mod conflict, but honestly my situation is so necro that I'm upvoting this anyway, for all the effort that went into it.

Can Ben be killed in battle yes or no.
skinnytecboy  [author] 13 Jun, 2015 @ 3:30am
Yes.. the Big quest is still going ahead, but it takes a very long time.. At present I'm working upon Mharphin V2
GoddessCynthia 12 Jun, 2015 @ 8:26am
I meant the quest mod he's apart of.I wanted to know if your still working on the quest mod itself or if it's already uploaded to the nexus

Are you still working on the mod or is it somewhere on the nexus?
skinnytecboy  [author] 20 Apr, 2015 @ 2:28pm
@Trogdor Strange, quickloading always did the trick. The problem is to do with his SEQ file (we need this to make new npcs talk) sometimes not loading and by reloading an autosave generated while Ben is installed.. it normally works. With the nexus version, another thing you could try is re-generating his SEQ using Tes5edit. Trust me, it'll be worth it :)
Trogdor 20 Apr, 2015 @ 2:14pm
@skinnytecboy What do you mean a by quick reload? I tried quicksaving/quickloading and it didn't seem to help.
skinnytecboy  [author] 20 Apr, 2015 @ 12:53pm
@Trogdor For the Nexus version.. sometimes a quick reload was required in order to initiate his SEQ file.
Akinoken 8 Apr, 2015 @ 8:38pm
OH. MY. GOSH!!! Shut up and take my subscription! XD
Trogdor 28 Mar, 2015 @ 1:44pm
I have the Nexus version but it doesn't seem to work. It's the second to last thing in my load order (Marphin is last). I go to the bard's college with a very old save (most of the vanilla content completed before I installed him), I talk to Benjamin and he has nothing to say; no greeting, no player dialogue options apart from options I get from other, unrelated mods. Marphin seems to work fine.
skinnytecboy  [author] 10 Jan, 2015 @ 2:48am
@Wolf600 That was just MxR messing around. He never did that.

This version is the light one. If you want the one featured in the video review, you'll need to download V2.2 from the Nexus.
Someoneimportant 9 Jan, 2015 @ 8:49pm
I saw a video where he started killing all the bards in the bards college does this still happen
Mithirael 2 Jan, 2015 @ 10:28pm
Teldryn Sero?
Zillasonic 14 Dec, 2014 @ 8:37pm
I was wrong. He just doesn't get along with Mr. Sero, the mercenary in Raven Rock (I forgot his first name).
Zillasonic 14 Dec, 2014 @ 8:05pm
Good ole' Ben isn't compatible with the Multiple Followers Lite mod (I can only have 1 follower, not the MFL's intended 7). Other than that, pretty good mod!
skinnytecboy  [author] 30 Sep, 2014 @ 1:05pm
Just to clarify, this is Ben Version 1. Fun but simplistic with 300+ lines of dialogue.

If you want Ben Version 2 (as featured by MxR) then you'll need to download from the nexus because the file exceeds the 100mb limit.

Thanks
skinnytecboy  [author] 15 Sep, 2014 @ 3:01am
I've updated Ben to feature a quest and 1300 lines of dialogue. There is no way that the update would fit here (shame). so if you're truly curious, head over to Nexus to download:

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53557/?

What's new in version two?

Over 1300 lines of annoying dialogue.
A Quest that is mind-bogglingly easy and yet hard.
30 books for Ben to read for you.
And Absolutely nothing worthwhile like New spells, shouts or equipment.

About Ben's Quest.

This isn't a quest as such, it doesn't require you to do any running around, battling monkeys or creeping around a darkened back passage. Quite simply its randomly triggered by certain insignificant actions. Your actions will eventually affect Ben's personality. There are 4 stages to him:

Jolly
Grumpy
Dark
Contented.

The quest will also unlock or remove certain book readings along the way.

In case anyone missed it in the above video selection, here's a sneak preview of the quest MOD (not this particular MOD): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwCQFBMFwCY

@lewi926 Thanks for your post matey. This is exactly the kind of feedback that really helps. Great stuff!

With regards to horse riding, I wouldn't have a clue how to add this function and I don't really have the time presently (unless it's a really easy thing to do). Currently I'm placing all my efforts in trying to finish the quest mod.

A few sneaky peaks here for the curious: https://www.youtube.com/user/skinnytecboy

ok so I took Ben out for a test drive with EFF (extensible followers framework). Most things seemed to work. He came in at lvl 47 same as my toon but I did not find a dialogue choice to lvl him . I havent lvled yet so we will see. All the other commands worked to make him essential , add items ( changed him to the vampire armor it seemed appropriate) and spells, set his residence, it also showed his stats and set him as a mage (which he did fairly well). He doesn't ride a horse tho so instant travel is a must and some of his speech is too low even with music and sound effects off. Thats a shame cause what you can hear is hilarious. All in all I'd say he worked out well with EFF. Now if I could just find a male toon as well put together thats younger and able to marry.
skinnytecboy  [author] 29 May, 2014 @ 9:09am
He's good at complaining,..oh and magic! Ben will level up with you. Not sure about UFO etc as I haven't tried it myself. Do me a favour and let me know if he is or isn't compatible.
Cheers
lewi926 28 May, 2014 @ 4:26pm
just currious what is he good at like stats and what lvl is he and does he level up with the player, and will he work with UFO or AFT....I like that he's male and has dialogue, a younger marrigable male toon would be a god send too
khazan99 8 May, 2014 @ 12:02pm
thanks! I'll check out the updated version later
skinnytecboy  [author] 8 May, 2014 @ 10:15am
P.S. I've added a little Trailer for Ben in the video section above.
skinnytecboy  [author] 8 May, 2014 @ 10:13am
@Khazan99 You were absolutely right my friend. Upon closer inspection I noticed that my BSA archive was missing a fair amount of Ben's audio (cough, look at floor with embarrassment). Well actually a bit more than just a few, more like 190 files. Well as I said in my description, I was not 100% confident with the BSA archive process. So thank you for reporting it to me.

I have updated this mod with all missing files, so hopefully there should be no more issues.

Thanks again
khazan99 7 May, 2014 @ 8:10pm
@skinnytecbot: selecting the "Ben, will you read to me?" option, I hear no audio for his response, "Ah, a lover of words". Then as he reads a random selection, I did have audio for the "Headmaster's Journal", but not for "Oh pointy bird..", "Argonian Account Book One", or "Immortal Blood"
khazan99 7 May, 2014 @ 7:59pm
@skinnytecboy: I'll check in-game in a few and let you know.
Cicerro 7 May, 2014 @ 6:09pm
So I went to the Bards college, level 5 hoping to find him (cause this looks great!) annnd hes not there. Splain it to me please?
skinnytecboy  [author] 7 May, 2014 @ 3:52pm
@Khazan99 Hmm, that's odd. Thanks for letting me know. Do you happen to know which book has the audio issues?
Nazbol Gang 7 May, 2014 @ 2:15pm
I like it!
khazan99 6 May, 2014 @ 6:42pm
The only issues I had thus far where indeed with certain portions of dialogue; specifically the dialogue that involves him reading to my character. After selecting the dialogue option asking him to read something, the subtitles appear just fine, but there is no audio.
heatherhorton64 6 May, 2014 @ 12:44pm
my turtle is called ben =) that is all.
skinnytecboy  [author] 5 May, 2014 @ 2:03am
@Magnificent Urchin. "Yes, it is I, LeClaire". Although this wasn't my original intent. I happen to work with a lot of people involved in drama with whom I thought it would be nice to showcase their voice talents. However, given how I work (a little bit here, a little bit there) I ended up voicing most of the NPCs myself. Ben kinda just stuck because he's fun to pretend to be. He's certainly my favourite creation. This is why I have offered him up as a follower whilst I continue to work upon the Actual Quest MOD. Mainly because I wanted to see if others would like a British comedy mod, but also because Ben quite simply makes me laugh
Urchin 4 May, 2014 @ 10:04pm
This is really clever. Great character.
Just wondering, did you do the voice for old Ben?
skinnytecboy  [author] 4 May, 2014 @ 1:55pm
Just to clarify, Ben can be found upstairs in the Bards College muttering abuse at the local residents. Ravenmount, thankyou for helping BillboyGaming.
P.S. Hang around the college to hear what he really thinks, get him in sightline of certain NPCs
Ravenmount 4 May, 2014 @ 12:01pm
BillBoyGaming: The description states he currently resides at the Bards College
Salty Boisture 4 May, 2014 @ 5:27am
where do i find him?
or does he just spawn with you
Fayde 2 May, 2014 @ 10:26pm
