Carry On Skyrim: Professor Benjamin Doon

Description
UPDATE: I have uploaded Version 2 here: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=496286289

Enjoy

He is cranky, senile and occasionally flatulent, but he may just be the follower you have been looking for. Say hello to Professor Benjamin Doon. Fully voiced with over 300 unique and annoying lines of dialogue

UPDATE: Ben has now been updated to Version 2 with a staggering 1300 lines of dialogue and a quest! Unfortunately, the update is far too large for Steam, so I'm afraid that if you're interested, you'll just have to head over to the Nexus to download: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53557/

Just to clarify, this is Ben Version 1. Fun but simplistic with 300+ lines of dialogue.

If you want Ben Version 2 (as featured by MxR) then you'll need to download from the nexus because the file exceeds the 100mb limit.

Failing that, version 1 is still a bit of fun, so please feel free to subscribe if you just fancy trying him out first.

WHO IS BENJAMIN DOON?

Benjamin is a somewhat bitter-sweet old story bard whom currently resides in the bards college. The only problem is, he hates them.

Aside from his dislike of people in general, he considers himself as "actually quite fun to be around". Think Oscar Wild meets Uncle Monty from Withnail & I, and you may just get him.

Ability: in a fight, Ben is fairly nifty for his age. Also, if you ask him nicely, he may read you the odd book or two. He may even tell you what he really thinks about certain persons...

Likes: pubs, idiots and a good book.

Hates, bards, idiots and you quite possibly.

WHAT IS CARRY ON SKYRIM?

Carry On Skyrim is a quest mod that I have been working on since September 2013. Ben is a character whom appears in Act 3 of the aforementioned mod, in which part of his function is to assist the hero by following at certain stages. The actual quest mod is currently two thirds complete.

Given that I am currently not close to completion, I thought it would be fun or at the very least fulfil the tiniest sense of achievement for me, if I offered Ben up as a good old fashioned follower whilst I continue to work on the quest. To be honest, with regards to his following ability, I got a little carried away, so I'm curious to see what all you lovely people think. Don't get me wrong, Ben is no Bhruce Hammar or Inigo, but he does perhaps offer a little light entertainment.

So please take him for a test spin and let me know what you think

Possible Issues:

To get old Ben onto steam I had to play around with his audio files in order to get them nicely compressed into a BSA file. There is always a chance that I may have done this incorrectly. If there are any issues with dialogue, please let me know. Your feedback is very important, so don't be shy!

Additional.

Please note that this MOD only adds the character of Benjamin Doon as a follower and is not the quest MOD. That said, it's still FUN!

Ben can be found upstairs in the Bard's College. Please have fun! (that after all is my intention)

Can't get either version to work in Oldrim, after following directions. Might be a follower mod conflict, but honestly my situation is so necro that I'm upvoting this anyway, for all the effort that went into it.

I meant the quest mod he's apart of.I wanted to know if your still working on the quest mod itself or if it's already uploaded to the nexus

Are you still working on the mod or is it somewhere on the nexus?

@Trogdor Strange, quickloading always did the trick. The problem is to do with his SEQ file (we need this to make new npcs talk) sometimes not loading and by reloading an autosave generated while Ben is installed.. it normally works. With the nexus version, another thing you could try is re-generating his SEQ using Tes5edit. Trust me, it'll be worth it :)

@skinnytecboy What do you mean a by quick reload? I tried quicksaving/quickloading and it didn't seem to help.

@Trogdor For the Nexus version.. sometimes a quick reload was required in order to initiate his SEQ file.
