Guns float above tables when I use this. Id rather gag down a hot hunk of dogshit than use this mod again.

I wish I could, but this mod is many years old and there are far better alternatives. Try out sourcemod and you can use any of these 3 variations.

Replacing spawns with scripts has always been buggy so I'm not entirely sure there is a way to fix it without resorting to source mod. I actually quit using this myself long ago due to the limitations and moved to manually placing items with this plugin. https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=2008483

but there is one weird thing when you go in safehouse a you load into another chapter it spawns the meds twice soo u got 8 pills

Yes. But it's RNG. Whatever the game rolls is what gets placed. I added an extra chance for pill spawns.

Due to how the conversion script works, you are only able to hook into every spawn. Meaning all healing items would have to be completely randomized and never consistent. You may have an overload of medkits one run, and none at all the next.

A better, more consistent, although difficult and out of my scope of skill method would be to decompile all the maps, and manually replace healing items in hammer editor.

But I will do the 1st method if you really want it.

This is what I use for weapon spawns now. It's some work going around and placing down spawns manually on each map, but you have exact control over however you want the game to handle them. There's a cvar to make even guaranteed spawns be randomized. I believe silver also has plugins for medcabinets, gun cabinets and ammo packs / laser sights too.

yes i do use sourcemod plugins, several in fact. I've been looking for plugins to absolutely randomize the weapon spawns but to my surprised there weren't any plugins for that yet (as far as i can dig in the forums)

Oh and btw i tried campaign singleplayer just in case and its the same issue with the wall of red text in the console the split second the map starts, I really do have bad luck with vscripts.

I greatly appreciate your interest in this mod, but the sourcemod methods to do this are much better and bug free. Plus you can manually place weapon spawns per map without editing the map files.

It won't work on mutations, only local servers for the default gamemodes. But since it looks like you know what you're doing, you can copy the data from my scripts and add them to the mutations. It's been a long time since I've touched left 4 dead 2 scripts, I've moved to creation engine modding so my memory is fuzzy. But I'm pretty sure active challenge mode is required to put the director in mutation mode which would mean it's looking for all these script changes opposed to just the default setting.

The only thing that would interfere is if they edit the coop, realism and survival vscripts that this mod uses.

Yes it works for custom campaigns as the vscript checks directly for the weapon spawn itself. There aren't any commands, if you want to edit it you must decompile with gfscape and recompile with vpk.exe.

I'm not seeing a specific weapon pattern. No problems with any of the addons you listed. Later on I'm going to download those custom campaigns and check out the locations you gave me. I have a theory this may be happening for weapon spawns that are set to spawn a single individual weapon, the ammo bug happens and then that makes the weapon unable to be picked up since there was only a single reference in the spawn. If that turns out to be the case I can just not hook certain spawns that are known to cause issues. Most commonly we've seen places where hunting rifles spawn that were replaced tend to glitch the most. Should have either an answer or an update by Friday latest.

- Bots ignored the weapons. They're my easiest tell if a weapon is broken.
- I'm not quite sure if it counts for the director settings you're thinking of, but I was using Competitive-Bots+ Apocalypse Edition , which only affects the Infected spawns and behavior as far as I'm aware. At least in the add-ons menu, it doesn't warn me of any conflicts with True Weapon RNG. I'm also running Left 4 Bots , and it doesn't warn me of any conflicts either.

- No specific weapon or campaign. I've had it happen with an auto shotgun at the finale of Blood Tracks, two M16s in the first map of Back To School (in a shack by a bridge, after the first crescendo event, they replaced the fixed spawn Hunting Rifles on the mantlepiece), an Uzi in the second map of Cambalache, and just now, a Pump Shotgun at the starting room of Day Break.
- Playing single player, so probably counts as local server.

Sorry if it seems like a lot of questions but this will help me better look into it. I've seen this happen once with a chrome shotgun in the gun locker of dead center 1.

- Specific weapons that spawned you couldn't interact with?
- Specific campaign, chapter, and location?
- Local, modded dedicated, lan server?
- Did bots attempt to interact with the weapon?
- Are you running other gamemode / mutation / vscripts that use director settings?

New bug to report: sometimes, the game spawns "busted" weapons that you can't pick up at all. Only seen it happen with tier 2 guns so far.

The lack of reserve ammo is actually a cool effect if you're playing for fun on a lesser difficulty, makes ammo piles worth more and weapon pickups way less exploitable. I enjoy it.

After 2 days of testing and trying to individually hook only the spawn and only the weapon entity, I am unable to fix the issue with some weapons spawning without reserve ammo. This issue has been added to the known issues list and is just something that will have to be dealt with should you choose to use this. In positive light you could think of it as " Immersion " since it makes more sense to find a single weapon with only a clip versus 360 - 650 bullets.

Totally unrelated question, where did you get those outline colors for the guns and items? Look like really smooth colors.
