Hi oten jues. That's fine. I'm working on an update version but it will be released as a Mk Ii. Just working through the kinkd for the final radar guided target acquisition.

Hey I used a modified version of this in a build of mine, is it alright to upload? with credit ofc

Hi Mrtrex500. I'm working on the tweaks for the VALKRYIE (inlcuding a Medium Warhead) in the FENRIS build. In order to accommodate the warhead I had to change the configuration of the guidance and the shape. Once I'm happy with how everything is working there I'll be updating this base version.

add bombs to it

VALKRYIE IMPROVEMENT - Transition from Climb to Target Profile vastly improved

actually all the MWS-
B missiles and launchers are worth looking at if you want to develop weapons id see what their doing then innovate or see what they are up to as that team is killing it with missiles currently

let me throw this here for you too https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2537157332 this thing is incredible and very new, id talk to its creator too hed have some good insight too

I've tried that missile. The problem is that it is huge. There's no way I'd be able to mount 4 of those in tubes in a sub. :) Also it's jet powered and not rocket powered. It's more of a guided plane then a ballistic missile.
Klaus Klavier 13 Jul, 2021 @ 1:51pm
its not 100% perfect but the closer you make it engage radars the less likely its going to go off course and as with anything the larger the missile and the larger the target the better chance of a hit
ElfBossHogg  [author] 13 Jul, 2021 @ 1:49pm
Thanks, I'll try that one out.

I've grabbed a ton of different ones from the workshop and ran through tests where I planted a varying number of vehicles in a target area. When there is just one they usually works unless it finds a reward box along the way. With more vehicles in an area it's completely random what they will lock on particularly if the radar is being joustled due to course changes. With the addition of AI vehicles a chopper or boat popping in has added a new elements.

With the current release of radar, sonar, etc. there's no real good way to ensure you can keep locked on, or even lock on, to what you want to hit.

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2257796884 like this. its size and the fact it worked by heading to a gps point then turning on terminal guidance like 2-3km away made it almost always hit
Klaus Klavier 13 Jul, 2021 @ 1:40pm
i mean you could shove a nuclear rod in it and make it into something flammable and radioactive to add player damage on top of fire and impact damage and of you are worred about terminal guidance missing there is one thats older that works very well last i used it ill link it
ElfBossHogg  [author] 13 Jul, 2021 @ 1:35pm
Never planned for terminal guidance as I find it's literally "hit or miss or miss or miss". Unless you guide a missile directly in to your target there's no guarantees your radar won't lock on to another vehicle, a reward box, an AI helicopter that's flying under sea level or just about anything.

The VALKRYIE is a bigger accurate missile that is designed to hit stationary targets... it's a ballistic missile. Think Minuteman, Tomahawk and SCUD . It's a completely different family of ordinance than an AA missile (like a Sparrow) or AS (like a Hellfire). However it's also reprogrammable in flight so it does offer so flexibility. In that case the ability to hit a target (stationary or otherwise) will depend on the quality of the Remote Fire Controller (to provide updated GPS and target Altitude) and not on the ability of the missile to find a target.

When the Weapons DLC comes out I hope that it will be couple with something with a big AoE "Boom". :)

I didnt mean for it to hit air but with no terminal guidance a large ship can outrun it rather easy and no one makes stationary structures because those are all mission oriented thats all im trying to get at
ElfBossHogg  [author] 13 Jul, 2021 @ 12:59pm
Exactly. It's a ballistic missile. Not an interceptor.
Jungle Troll 13 Jul, 2021 @ 12:20pm
Lmao this thing is nothing like an AAMRAAM. its 3-4 times the size and it cant hit air targets
ElfBossHogg  [author] 3 Jul, 2021 @ 8:30pm
That's what it's currently designed for... big ship, building, relatively stationary structure. It's a bigger missile for bigger prey.

Right now it's strapped to a wagon carrier. However I really actually designed it be launched from vertical tubes on a sub... 4 tubes on a sub currently in the build phase. It's in the ballistic missile family: a rocket-propelled self-guided strategic-weapons system that follows a ballistic trajectory to deliver a payload from its launch site to a predetermined target.
Klaus Klavier 3 Jul, 2021 @ 7:07pm
I was comparing it to an amraam due to its hybrid nature where its guided to a target and then has active terminal guidance (pitbull) only reason I ask that is nothing anyone shoots at is stationary enough to take damage from this unless its an enormous freighter sitting still
ElfBossHogg  [author] 3 Jul, 2021 @ 6:57pm
It's not an AMRAAM though. It's a medium to long range missile akin to a Tomahawk which doesn't typically carry passive sensors. It's designed to carry a heavy payload to a destination with accuracy and detonate. An AMRAAM will close in on an air target *not ground) and impart a smaller shrapnel based explosion in order to try and knock a plane out of the sky.

The VALKYRIE is more like an Exocet at low Top Off or a Bunker Buster at high approach. High Accuracy, kill motors and hopefully big boom where you tell it to go. If you want it to be more active in searching, etc you can build that in to the Remote Fire Contoller which could host a huge radar or be slaved to a spotting laser. Those may have more power and better data then a small radar traveling at high speed.
Klaus Klavier 3 Jul, 2021 @ 2:52pm
I was hoping it would have some sort of terminal guidance so it acts like tre way an AAMRAAM would. it goes to a certain point then activates onboard radar and searches for a target after it hits that point
ElfBossHogg  [author] 3 Jul, 2021 @ 2:07pm
It's GPS guidance only right now. However you can retarget while it is in ifght by uploading new coordinates. The capabilities of the missile are then offloaded to the Remote Fjre Control Director which can be as simple or advanced as you want it.
Klaus Klavier 3 Jul, 2021 @ 1:37pm
so its just gps or does it have terminal guidance to ensure it hits?
