I tested it now, it can takeoff without any issue. But I see that its max speed is now 183 kph, it was 207 kph when I last updated it in March.
You need to gain enough speed on runway before beginning to leave it. It's small WW1 plane with realistic engine power (80HP).
- Vehicle & fuel weight and engine power are adjusted to realistic level.
- Updated SPECIFICATIONS section in the description.
- Fixed exhaust problem caused by the change on catalytic converter.
- Added weapons
- Battery indicator replaced with ammo count indicator
- Removed neutral prop pitch behavior on ground when parking brake on
If you allow engine to run at very high RPM on ground then disable parking brake, it can takeoff instantly.
You need to turn engine off after enabling parking brake. Because parking brake reduces propeller pitch (collective) to help stop. The mass of the plane is so low, it requires very little grip on the wheels to avoid propeller strike on takeoff. So, parking brake becomes ineffective to stop the plane with little wheel grip. As a result of reduced prop pitch, RPM goes high when parking brake enabled on ground. There is usually not enough space for extra complexity to solve every problem in these super small planes.

@Blob14,
I have plans for WW1 era Italian plane.
@ziemniak22pl,
Maybe in the future. Currently I chose to make WW1 planes because Stormworks air drag is too high. So it's more realistic to fly slower WW1 planes rather than faster WW2 planes.
It's on my list but don't know when.
