You are welding a drone carrier here, right? Do you then have autoamted scripts to park them again at the same position to then use bp to rearm them in case the drones were used up?

It is relatively simple: They have sensors on them and the PB program backs out if the arm senses a collision. It is also the reason why the welded ship is rotating and the direction is reversed if the rotor gets blocked for some time.

that the arms did not get stuck during the welding is the thing which amazes me most, very impressive
