not sure exactly how far in i am but i love this map to death. i always liked the combin fights in alyx but they were always so easy and there was never any major challenge. this map has rectified that because HOLY this is hard compared to regular Alyx. that being said, hella fun, map design is great too

Level design was quite impressive (levels looked natural), combat encounters were fair with the amount of enemies and cover available. All around quite pleasant experience playing through this map. Very surprisingly good production for a "first map", better than many other maps. Great work, and thank you!

Great map! One I enjoyed the most! The rooms are varied, the combats are well paced, and the part in the parking lot is awesome... especially the barrel that gave me that "holy shit! it worked!" moment. Thanks for your work!

Overall, the performance was heavy. (Ryzen3900X RTX2080)
The frame rate dropped, especially in the brain drum terminal.
But the combat with the Combine was fun and thrilling! Great combat!
I didn't notice the cannon at the end, so I hid behind a car and took out the suppressor with just my pistol XD

I am enjoying this mod so much!
I am stuck though :( At that place in between 2 train tracks with 2 small rooms. According to a walk-through I am supposed to shoot a small piece of electronics at the top of the side of one of those train track shields. Right here actually: https://youtu.be/rNkxwMxL230?t=868
I can't do it though. I noticed that the one in the video had sparks, which kind of gave it away. But mine doesn't have any. I have shot it multiple times to no avail :(

Loved It ! Just difficult enough. Battles kept it interesting and not a breeze through. Had combat challenges requiring saves to make it. Interesting map and assets, designed well. Would love more intensive and explosive battle with the cannon, maybe a hoard to obliterate (its just fun). Give us more, cant wait for more of your work! THANKS no one should miss it!

So much fun. I really liked the pacing and focus on combat, it was nice to start out with resin instead of having to scavenge for it. I liked the city at the start with citizens walking around too.

Ran into a couple of small issues:
1. I missed the pistol on my first playthrough and had to restart the level to get it since there's no way to go back up the elevator
2. Loading a save file seemed to crash the game

played this on hard as always. Was a great map. More difficult than most of the other mods I played. I appreciate that I had just enough ammo to kill the enemy. I had to play several times just cause I kept getting my ass kicked but I love that. Absolutely recommend and the author did an amazing job with this.

Quite possibly. However, I've been playing nothing but Half-life Alyx custom maps for 3 months now and I have not encountered this issue before. I do not use any extraneous mods with the custom maps. I'll see if the bug replicates elsewhere.

Sorry to hear that, but I don't think that's my map fault. I've seen players load saves fine. Unless Valve gave some update to Half-Life: Alyx, I think your SteamVR might be a bit funky.

Save files will not load after player death. The game times out at the blank terrain debris screen. Also locks up SteamVR system menu access when trying to escape out of this buggy hang-up. Have to close SteamVr manually at PC.

And because the difficult is WAY amped up, this happened a lot for me. Spent more time reloading SteamVR and the game than I did playing the map. Gave up at the mounted turret.

Just played this again and it was as much if not even more fun after letting it rest for a month. Great combat, Good flow where you have to do just the right amount of thinking and I love the canon in the garage basement. I can't wait to see your next creation should you decide to put in the effort.

It was at the very end, instead of spawning in front of the credit it was below the world with the credits at a distance. I used locomotion the whole time so no teleport.

Great map! Loved the combat!

My dumb ass completely missed the door to the room with the shotgun, and thought I'd run out of ammo well into the underground xD Luckily I remembered I was allowed to backtrack, so ultimately had a great time!

This is insanely good. Like wow, in the post credit scene I actually said "holy shit that was fun!" Really good pacing and environment building. I swear the whole level felt so realistic and I think its because of your attention to little details with props and the spectacular lighting. The scenery felt so rich and so intricate- I absolutely loved it. Your usage of events (like flanks/surprise zombies) and overall zombie behavior was fantastic, which only added to how immersive the level felt. The parking garage section blew me away- no other video game could make me feel so immersed! That grenade launcher finale was some of the most engaging combat I've had in Alyx, it really felt like I was fighting for my life lol. So good and will absolutely be playing this map again. Kudos, as I have played many custom maps but this still stands out to me as one of the best.

Really great work! Up there with some of the best community maps I've played. Couple nitpicks worth considering:
-A bunch of doors are set to one-way, presumably for realism, but it just makes for an annoying player experience, which is why even Valve almost never uses them
-The added final step on the toner puzzle is great. Where I got lost is that I had no idea I'd powered a toner port in the first place. Could do with some more visual feedback when you finish the control panel and/or have that fight interrupt the process of activating the control panel, so you don't rotate the brain wheels until after the fight is over
-All your zombies are set to have the headcrab survive, which ruins the idea behind them. A good rule of thumb is to have 30% of them survive

Apart from that, really great! Plays a bit on the hard side (easy feels like normal, normal like hard, etc.) but great sense of pressure throughout. Absolutely loved the barrel on ramp beat - played out exactly as I'd hoped <3

Oh, and thanks for the tip about getting that one barrier down by the train tracks. It is rare that a 2-step shutdown for a force field is used in the way you did.
I had a fun time with this level, and appreciate the opportunity to play. It was nice to see the shout out to the Eagle One team for how they helped; they make some pretty gosh darn good stuff themselves.

- The underground garage combat was fun-frikking-tastic. It kept me on my toes, kept me watching me health and ammo (because I suck at playing), and had great pacing throughout. There was even a single occurrence to where enemies sprung up behind me, causing me to do 180 degree physical turn to rain down a righteous hail of bullets in their general direction.

Even better was the combat in firing the 'howitzer/artillery' with the mini-force field. A lot of firing both high and low, and taking care for not turning in one direction too much so that the force field is not protecting me. And to have that one Combine Soldier pop out from behind the metal doors/barrier while I was firing the howitzer....fun times, indeed.
