-Those tiles around the Great Australian Bite should be desert, as that's where the Nullabore (no trees) Plain is.
-Large portions what you made desert are in fact plains, scrublands and savannahs.
This map looks good apart from that. (FYI: Australia mainly exports in coal. Oil, not so much).

the answer is in the description
- change a fair bit of the desert area next to existing plains areas into plains. Might also need to check carefully on the NW desert. I'd recommend plains, or better add rivers there.
- Add Murray and Darling Rivers. And some lakes if you can.
- add lots of iron, horse, uranium, cattle and sheep resources. And lots of bananas in QLD.
- Move great barrier reef and atolls 1-2 tiles closer to shore so they can be utilized.
- List of actual LR's in Australia: cotton, citrus, gold, copper, crab, pearls (opals) and sugar to name a few.
- Add some jungle across northern Australia (NT and QLD). And maybe even 1-2 jungle tiles in Tasmania.
Other than that, it's great. Keep it up.
Love the idea of kangaroos.
Also resources Australia is an exporter to the US for Oil and Uranium, so you need to add in more of those, oil is off the coast slightly, Uranium is all through that desert. plus northern queensland is heavy with coal, and northern WA is heavy with all the ore types.
Good luck dude and again nice work so far
It would look a heap better if you had the major rivers and some random scattered ones throughout the north coast.
There's a bit to much desert. I've been to some of those places like the Simpson desert and they're closer to a plains than a desert such as you've represented.
Honestly I couldn't do much better though.
It does have Uluru, as well as The Great Barrier Reef.
@Tdgeorge2
I was thinking of putting up a 'huge' scale of it in the near future.
