This ship is like a swiss army knife with one exeption: It's much more deadly than a swiss army knife. Some creators are looking for design, others focus in survivability, usability, upgradeability, transport or exploration. Hands down this ship has everything and is designed to fit all roles at it fit all those roles without any disadvantage. As an example i like to point your attention towards the different bridges for different purposes. Everything is in place, where it should be. It's so perfect you'd like to cry.
If you're looking for THE swiss army knife who punches Zirax and Progenitors right in the face while keeping a soft smile look no further. You have found it. If you don't download this ship and use it in Empyrion ... well ... you will never know what real fun is.
Negative points about this ship:
i looked around, i was searching, over and over. There is none, simple as that.

This one has much bigger hangar so you can continuously use that HV. The full upgraded version is quite powerful which requires around 8 mil CPU power with full heavy turrets. Though, it will require much more fuels :)
The Demon was too slow/sluggish, and the new tank is quite nimble and stronger/better equipped to boot.
The basic idea is actually the same as your idea of plasma turrets. 24 plasma turret on upper side and remove all the laser turrets & replace cannon turrets with missile turrets. Nonetheless, this would be giving up planetary battle.
Then, use artillery cannons to aim core location. I was lucky to hit the core in the movie and finished tovera in around 10 minutes. Usually it takes more than 15 minutes but not more than 30 minutes using SEEKER XE modified version :) I tuned new ship and now it takes max 15 minutes, usually 10 minutes for quantum hunting:)
I guess you would already know, but my recommendation for this gamer is
1) Get a good HV tanks (JRandall's HVs are the best) and explore ground POI. It is very speedy and great fun too.
2) Find 10 core systems and open ancient portal to go to explore ancient tech, which involves incredible POIs.
3) For drilling, at least I drill expensive OREs like platinum, gold for trade.
I will try to capture how to kill TOVERA with SEEKER later once I could make it less than 45 minutes. I am close to it :)
So far I've taken on and looted many battle carriers with zero hull dmg.
Once i save up the ammo, i know that i could defeat a dread with the seeker... but it will just take a long time for me right now, probably 2 hours from start to done looting.
And I'm still working on where exactly to sell the loot to pay for the ammo/pentaxid/power, A certain pirate base or something; there's a lot of different poi' for me to learn.
Now, I could mine for it.... but I'm trying to self sustain off of pirating. my Ship is Named the Black Pearl after all.
My favorite ship is actually this SEEKER XE rather than any other monster that I created because it is more fun to challenge myself to improve my gaming skill rather than relying on unfairly super tools. There are so many good things to explore and challenges to overcome.
I even found a way to defeat TOVERA with this SEEKER XE, which was challenging but self-rewarding result rather than using unlimited plasma turrets :)
The last point is now Quantum is right next to core. so if you use Ambassador XTS, you would not be able to get the Quantum easily, which is actually my struggle now. Killing dreadnought is not actually an issue...
So, you have 24 device limit for each type of turrets in RE although Anvil or most of the server does not have device limit, which I really do not like and which is why I do not play Anvil. If you break the device limit, most effective CV killer would be a CV with 24 Artillery Cannons with 100~200 plasma turrets, which is not really playing game. Too easy.
If you keep device limit, the maximum plasma turrets would be 24 normal plasma + 12 heavy plasma, which are actually strong enough to kill any CV. Though, 24 normal plasma does not give you enough fire power to kill dreadnought.
I tested full heavy turret version within device limit for the tovera-hunter and killed dreadnought in 5 minutes.... It is up to you to decide whether you keep the device limit or not.
Right now i'm, debating on whether to remove all missile turrets and replace with Plasma, and Lasers. Per this post

For battlecarrier battle, If you can aim the core accurately, you can destroy the core with 3~4 Artillery Cannon fire - simultaneous explosion of 12 Artillery Shells is extremely powerful. I usually aim the core as soon as the shield is off. It only takes 4~5 minutes to finish battle at most. you need to aim a little bit ahead of the battle carrier considering its speed and the distance.
Regarding the signal, I was going to use it for lighting purpose, but did not use it and forgot to remove it... so please ignore that one :)
some shots of your ship, battle carrier gave LOTS of valuable components, but i really like the shots of the ship charging overnight at the blue giant. Also use any of them if you want.
Also, thanks for sharing generator setting result. I have not thought about it :)
also Loving the ship, very powerful, the 12 manual arty really devastate stuff, have all turrets set to target generators only, works great leaves lots to be salvaged.
For me, the main reason to get Heavy Turrets is to hunt TOVERA-class dreadnaught to get quantum (they have two quantums). It is much easier to lower dedicated TOVERA shield. Also, if you hunt TOVERA, you would get heavy turrets as well.. so personally I do not search for upgrade kits..
Anyway, you are right. Unless you want to do PvP, you would not need heavy turrets in a server without CPU limit.
Regarding battle, I would say battle against Battlecarrier should be fairly straight forward if you can do spiral evasive maneuver, but I would not recommend to hunt them because you would not get any valuable stuff from them.
New TOVERA class dreadnaught has lots of valuable stuff to salvage, but I would not recommend to use this ship to hunt dreadnaughts unless you know how to hunt it. For me, it costed me four SEEKER full version to figure out how to defeat dreadnaughts.
I figured out how to dodge most of the bullets, where the shield is, where the core is, where the guided missiles coming from, what would be the most effective angle to lower shield kind of stuff.
The biggest challenge to hunt dreadnaught is special dreadnaught shield
also, how does this ship fair against Battlecarriers and dreadnaughts? i have the resources to build it FINALLY, but am curious before i spend them as im still relatively space poor. Basically is it a good combat ship?
New TOVERA is quite powerful so if you make small mistake then you may end up losing quite huge portion of your ship. From RE 1.4 update, especially Ammunition Storage seems to be easily exploding and blow huge portion of your ship, which requires careful interior design. At least the chain-explosion bug seems to be fixed, so I could test without issues.
If war ship is too powerful, then TOVERA is heavily damaged and there is nothing left... no heavy turrets nor quantum... In short, it is tricky and challenging, which is why it is fun to build :)
