The base game had some issues, like skeletons without stats, or some animations not working properly.

Immortal Throne added a power spike but was blended fine into the whole game. Only on difficulty jumps (from final TQ to new act on new dif) was an issue not well solved.

I think the game was imbalanced since Ragnarok, the power spike was fine, but the problem comes from the gap between most pre-ragnarok gear and ragnarok one.

Atlantis is at the same power-level than Ragnarok, with the same issues. Came with LOTS of bugs, specially on itemization (missing affixes on gear).

Eternal Embers add yet another weird power spike in the form of some special items. The difficulty, again, is barely above Ragnarok or Atlantis.

I find the commentary on the mod's description and changelogs very insightful. What are your thoughts on how the old devs designed items vs new ones? New items are clearly overtuned but old items were generally less interesting alongside being poorly suited for the higher difficulties.

Do you prefer the state of the game's balance before AE?

Was Legendary much more difficult back then without so many powerful items and all the bonuses from the new DLCs, or has AE overtuned Legendary while not tweaking Epic enough?

Thanks.

If you replaced the Database.arz with the Itemization-quest.arz, the mod is now part of the core game, you can play like without mods, keep in mind you will need to restore game files if you ever play MP, or everyone else need to install the mod in the same way.
Darth ZarZax 3. aug. 2024 kl. 16:24
So sorry for spamming questions. So i replaced game's database with mod's database to make your mod pemanent. From now on do i need to go to start custom game to enable the mod or is it always on and i just press play titan quest?
Darth ZarZax 3. aug. 2024 kl. 5:04
Thank you!
ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 3. aug. 2024 kl. 4:56
Yeah, sure. Also TQ Vault will show the modded values at all times.
Darth ZarZax 3. aug. 2024 kl. 4:38
Could this be ''fixed'' by replacing Database.arz mentioned elsewhere in this comment section and making the changes permanent?
ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 3. aug. 2024 kl. 4:22
Nope, they will get their vanilla values, if an affix has 40% in the balance and 35% in vanilla, will go back to a lower value.
Darth ZarZax 3. aug. 2024 kl. 4:11
so in most cases when i move rebalanced items from your mod into TQVault, and then close the game and look at them in the vault they will keep the rebalanced values?
ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 3. aug. 2024 kl. 3:49
Well, there are a few instances I added a new affix and didn't reuse an existing one, like in a few fixes of certain uniques/MIs (needed to duplicate certain effects, in order to the skill to work), if it is a reused/altered affix, not much happens, just different values and possible different RNG outside of the mod. If it is a new affix used to bugfixing, the bugfix will not work and the item may lose the skill fixed entirely (but will regain it with the mod enabled). This may affect about 3-4 items overall, and didn't work properly in the first place so...
Darth ZarZax 3. aug. 2024 kl. 3:38
thanks for the answer, one more question. What happens to items when they are moved in and out of TQVault while this mod is active?
ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 2. aug. 2024 kl. 5:54
Seems Bug Fixes mod is also a bounce mod, I doubt you can use two bounce mods at once. This mod provably covers at least 60% of the bug fixes, I didn't mess with the latest expansion so those definitively are not covered.
Darth ZarZax 1. aug. 2024 kl. 21:30
Is Itemization Quest compatible with Bugfixes mod or should i just use only one of the two?
razmoudah 1. aug. 2024 kl. 5:34
And all of those little changes are why I exclusively play TQAE with your mod active, and since they weren't updating it anymore why I asked how to permanently apply the mod. I've got it done and it is making things go so much more smoothly, especially when I transfer items between characters.
ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 30. juli 2024 kl. 2:18
Oh, yeah, the Database.arz is name as Itemization-Quest.arz inside the suscription, you need to rename it to Database.arz in order to replace.

Yeah, it took me a while to sort all these changes together and a custom tool to re-compile the database with the changes. I summitted a the errors I found during my process to THQ using their ticketing system at the time, some of them were finally fixed, others just ignored. There are some weird things still there, and some fixes to be done.

Every change has a reason to exist, for example the resistance from -100 to -80 not to make the game easier, but to fight the change made that took the bleed and vitality resistances from 0 base to also go into negative values with higher difficulties.

Also, I wanted to fit all the new expansions into the item progression patterns from TQ + IQ, so they feel more natural.
razmoudah 30. juli 2024 kl. 0:24
Huh, as I went and did the file replacement I noticed that the name of the file in the Steam Workshop folder was different than the name in the main game folder. In the Steam Workshop it was named after the mod. I have no idea if this contributed to my problem with changing characters while the mod was active or not, but it is quite the oddity. It's probably tied to the map for the bounce mod needing to reference a database file and named into the custom quest in some manner. I can see the game being coded in such a way.
razmoudah 30. juli 2024 kl. 0:13
Thanks! I kept hoping that THQ Nordic would notice the wonderful work you did with this mod and try to at least turn the cleaned up affix entries into an official update, but they never did and now it looks like they're more focused on TQ2 than trying to fix the 'small' flaws still in TQ.

I'll make the backup, just in case I ever do play multiplayer, but I'll probably be trying to talk them into getting the mod and then doing the permanent affix as well with how much it improves the item drops.

The only thing a person needs to watch out for when using it is that a Worn Copper Knife ends up with a restricted sale value, so you can't sell them. Considering that's only a serious concern up to maybe the third hamlet (only because a few skeleton's in the ruins between the Spartan War Camp and that little hamlet might still drop them) this is such a small problem it isn't even truly worth fixing.
ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 29. juli 2024 kl. 7:31
@razmoudah Yeah, actually is pretty easy, you need to copy the Database.arz (60MB file) from the workshop suscription content, usually at:

%STEAM%\steamapps\workshop\content\475150\2359770187\itemization-quest\database\

To your database folder of the game, usually at:

%STEAM%\steamapps\common\Titan Quest Anniversary Edition\Database\

Where %STEAM% is your steam root directory. Keep in mind you want to restore the DDBB to play multiplayer unless everyone followed the same steps.

I love this mod and feel it greatly improves the entire game. My only problem is that if you return to the title menu after playing with it the effects go away, but if you go to the bounce mod again it crashes the game. Since it seems that TQ:AE is in it's final form (as the devs are now focused on TQ2, although I just learned about Grim Dark so that's going to be on my priority list now) is there any way to overwrite the main game files with the bounce mods files so that I can always have it in effect?

In another bounce mod that I've used the author of it mentions how to go and modify the base game values to effectively permanently add the effects to your game, which is why I'm hoping the same can be done with this one. At least, so long as that doesn't interfere with getting achievements.
ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 4. maj 2024 kl. 5:14
I halted the development of the mod quite a while ago, but is pretty much done. If something needs to be still reviewed would be all the latest DLC stuff. I didn't get into that.
kekkuli 10. apr. 2023 kl. 8:47
Is there any love for pets in this mod? I always felt like pets as whole could've used something more.
Akelasan 5. nov. 2022 kl. 12:10

ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 20. okt. 2022 kl. 11:38
I will be on it shortly.
Akelasan 20. okt. 2022 kl. 9:57
.... and now we should wait for update #6 integration? ..
[nice that tese official updates are coming, but it complicates life of mods]
Nowhereman 24. aug. 2022 kl. 16:06
Thank you for the update.
Akelasan 28. juli 2022 kl. 10:28

thanks for contribution to the game and support of the mod
ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 28. juli 2022 kl. 2:16
Update 4 is out? I was on holydays... :) That's a fairly big one, I will have to check lots of things to make it happen.
Akelasan 15. juli 2022 kl. 16:12
what about update #4?
Scylla 9. juni 2022 kl. 0:52
Thank you very much for your quick update now i can finally play again.
IndigoAK 8. juni 2022 kl. 18:52
Could also be that higher difficulties now drop more gold.
ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 8. juni 2022 kl. 17:10
I don't know, just compared with previous version and we have this new properties:

altGoldMonsterClassificationFactor,1.000000;3.000000;10.000000;50.000000,
altGoldDifficultyFactor,1.000000;2.000000;3.000000,

But I have no idea how it impacts the game... Maybe is the new electrum currency?
Akelasan 8. juni 2022 kl. 15:30
@ninakoru appreciate the update. Can i know the details of "New gold multiplier", or will it be obvious when i start the game?
Akelasan 8. juni 2022 kl. 15:20
@ Scylla same here. Its a must have basic level
Scylla 8. juni 2022 kl. 0:24
Great news, can't play the game without your mod. For me it's a must have.
Akelasan 7. juni 2022 kl. 15:41

ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 7. juni 2022 kl. 8:25

Akelasan 2. juni 2022 kl. 9:42
... can i expext an update to sync for newest base game changes ?...
ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 10. apr. 2022 kl. 18:15
Monster infrequent has a much higher drop rate, about 1% from most monsters, yeah, that's intended.
Adrift40 8. apr. 2022 kl. 23:37
monster inf drop more than green is this intended?
Nargil66 **********.com 20. feb. 2022 kl. 11:54
Oh, that would be perfect! Please PM me on the forum or Discord.
ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 20. feb. 2022 kl. 10:16
@Nargil66, sure, you can do that, the mod is the entire database, but I can send you the modified files.
Nargil66 **********.com 19. feb. 2022 kl. 23:45
Amazing job on healing this good old game... I haven't seen another mod that does it so in-depth.
Is Itemization Quest available for merging? I'd love to base my EG mod on your rejuvenated database. Do you allow it? You'll get full credits of course.
ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 30. jan. 2022 kl. 11:13
Sure, you're welcome.
Akelasan 30. jan. 2022 kl. 10:48
..thanks for the update!.i like the mod a lot, so good to play with it again ...
IndigoAK 8. dec. 2021 kl. 1:12
OK, thanks.
ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 8. dec. 2021 kl. 0:13
Bounce mods, AFAIK you need to do it every time you get into the character screen.
IndigoAK 7. dec. 2021 kl. 18:08
Do you have to "bounce" this custom map every session or can you just do it once and that's it?
wesikanderson12 25. nov. 2021 kl. 22:00
try merging this with itemus mod. lol, i wonder how that will turn out?
ninakoru  [ophavsmand] 24. nov. 2021 kl. 10:04
A few bugfixes? The commonalities are, both have LOTS of bugfixes, this one has way more in the monster department, this is more a in-depth tweak of many systems and items, his mod adds a few extra items and visuals but nothing big.
Ceroew 20. nov. 2021 kl. 11:47
how are the changes compared to AFBF? im usin both in tandem rn but want a second opinion before i continue further
