My idea would be to make a SV module for the ground assault as it can be retrofit with all the more powerfull turrets and having smaller block you can add a lot more to it.

The issue with this module is the turret choice as some ground POI have shields such as xenu fortress and you need laser turrets to disable the shield and more high power turrets to take out their big guns and retrofitting 2 larger turrets on top and squeezing the sentries on the bottom is a good idea.

The landing gears will not deploy, I think you can simply erase them, they are not needed.

@PJ-pete, Thanks for your good ideas. let me think of how to split the host hangar horizontally. In fact, I almost finished the SV and it is really slim design (3.5 m height), and will publish it today. I had to install some of the turrets and weapons to clear landing site and works on 4g planet as well.

An couple of ideas on parking, 1 - have one of the hangers split in 2 horizontally, bottom half for SV, top for HV. SV has a slim/low body cockpit on one side and goes to the bottom, HV on top... 2 - have a side by side connection, with either option you would stop just outside the docking bay, disconnect and park HV then the SV.

@PJ-pete, Thanks a lot for your great idea~, Actually I was thinking that too for Tarsis's HV lifter idea. so, I am making HV lifter SV with some more features:) Thanks for good idea. There are two issues I found from CV lifter prototype
1) I can unload HV to the main hall, but it takes time to move it to main hagar. also 3rd person view causes some sight blocking issues.
2) once unload HV, I have to repark CV, but if you forget then the system does not give you warning, which can cause serious problem. For SV, system does give the warning that "there is not docked ship."

just done a rethink, SV barge so the SV docks then the hover undocks from SV moves forward and docks to the Hostship CV, 2 ships in the same bay. Hope this makes sense.

How does a HV / SV combo sound, dock the HV onto or into a SV, Then use SV to shuttle back and forth between orbit and planet, save CV fuel.

@PJ-pete Thanks a lot for your comment :) I already have 6th one but did not publish yet - Factory Unit for producing Silicon, Iron, Copper from stones; something like 30,000 ingots for future usage.
Or dedicated to produce fuel or O2 tanks. So far I have not used it in my Project Eden 1.2 gaming, so did not published.

It would be great if you can share any good idea for additional module.

Thanks again for the comments. Your recommendation did make differences. I changed the Sentry Gun location to take out the ground troop as you suggested. Actually, I usually take out nearby ground troops and drones before attacking ground POI, then I can focus on the POI turrets.
Personally, I use this to disable POI's in Project Eden Scenario to get Zascosium Ore.
I also wanted miniguns and more cannon turrets, but would like to stick to the device limit (12 for miniguns+cannons), please feel free to modify as you want :)

OK, this is much better! I did move the rearmost sentry guns to the rear sides of the ship, and two others to the sides right in front of the strafing thrusters. This gives me better drone/ground troop coverage while having most of the cannons all shoot at only turrets.

I cleared out a Zirax missile base with 3 hailstorm and 3 icestorm defense POIs around it, only stopping to let the shield recharge twice. That's pretty decent.

Will need miniguns to penetrate shields though. I just don't want to sacrifice cannons for them.. :beeped:

I updated based on your suggestion and tested for L2~L4. I also changed the cockpit so that you can see lower angle through the window.

OK, so after using it a bit I have some recommendations. First remove any guns that are not ground combat capable. That will leave only cannons, miniguns, and sentry guns. Second, set it up so as many cannons and miniguns fire in the same direction as possible, preferable on the bottom of the CV. That will be the direction you attack with. The top only needs a minigun or 2 for drone defense. 4 to 6 sentries for ground troops.

If you have to mount a "combat bridge" sideways to get more guns on target, so be it. Toss out the warp drive, you have a carrier for that. Dump the food processor too.
