Nuclear Superiority

@daddler88 That's heavily dependent on the yield of the nuclear weapon, and the height of detonation. A 50 megaton nuclear weapon, the largest ever built, detonated over the center of Berlin at 13,000 feet would level buildings for roughly 25 miles, almost reaching neighboring Potsdam, and cause 3,048,520 fatalities; 83% of the city's population. People would experience 3rd degree burns across a 65-mile area surrounding the city.

One could bring up the fact that the Tsar Bomba never entered official service, but to that I would say: This is Civilization 5. We don't have giant death robots, X-COM squads, or Gandhi the Conqueror in real life either.

Good idea, but cities today are so big that it takes several nuclear explosions to cover a city, it takes more to wipe one out.
Berlin would need 4, Mexico City 11, Chongqing is as big as Austria = 80-140.
I think you have no idea of the sizes of cities today and the average damage potential of a nuclear weapon.

Great mod. Thanks for sharing. Good Luck with this and all your future endeavors.

Pair this with the damaging fallout mod and nuclear exchanges become a LOT more devastating.
Klonter77 von Planet77 1 Feb, 2018 @ 1:06am

Spy Boy 4 Mar, 2017 @ 12:59am
Could you write new price of nukes? I like this description, sorta, but I like to use a lot of nukes as well.
Emrule 5 Aug, 2016 @ 4:42am
everyone saying ghandi doesn't nuke - play the game.
in 3 out of 4 games I play I get nukes by him, if I don't kill him before nukes.
Bitemehard 6 Dec, 2015 @ 9:44am
Ghandi will fuck you up with this so quick. Its not even funny how fast he will.
Darth Jami 3 Dec, 2015 @ 6:30pm
Basically, Ghandi's base aggression in the original Civ games was set to 1 on a scale of 1-10. After researching democracy, the bot's aggression would decrease by two. Since computer counting doesn't take negatives into account naturally, Ghandi's aggression would instead be around 100 on a scale of 1-10. The devs considered it hilarious, and decided to keep the bug in the rest of the Civ games. Sorta like the origin of TF2's Spy.
CinnySuccubus 14 Nov, 2015 @ 4:22pm
the whole thing about ghandi being a warmonger comes from an earlier game, where his aggression was so low, that the value went the other way and was several orders of magnitude higher than anyone elses

or something like that anyway
SWatt_Officer 10 Nov, 2015 @ 11:48am
why does everyone think ghandi is a warmonger in civ? he never builds a big army or makes nukes
gredeniand 9 Nov, 2015 @ 7:59am
Ghandi loves this mod.
Grace of Thule 11 Aug, 2015 @ 10:12pm
@zdoney What the fuck are you talking about? Ghandi is a wuss. I've never seen him build nukes. I have never seen him build anything better than war elephants. He usually gets swallowed up by other civs around him before the industrial era. If he makes it to the atomic age, he just tries forming reseach agreements with everyone, denounces anyone who refuses, and suppliments my decisions in the World Congress...

...Seriously! That's all he does. Am I misssing anything here? As far as I can tell, he just builds atomic plants with any uranium he comes across. By and large, he's the most passive civ in my game.

Guy 17 Aug, 2014 @ 7:08am
is it strange that so many people have trouble with ghandi nuking people. i have never seen ghandi nuke anyone, but i have seen him back stab the shit out of his allies.
Calphoon 17 Aug, 2014 @ 12:59am

thebassetman 16 Aug, 2014 @ 2:00pm
could you make it so you can shoot down nukes, like add anti balistic missiles and let planes attack the bomber. Even an operation starwars project in the future era to let you counter nukes
DeltaEchoXray 16 Aug, 2014 @ 10:18am
loving the realism keep it up
Doc 16 Aug, 2014 @ 9:16am
Ghandi! NOOOOOO!
SirKyleJordan 16 Aug, 2014 @ 9:01am
Glad to see there are so many nuclear weapons experts here to critique the the game's realism.
Moros 15 Aug, 2014 @ 7:15pm
Orbital Ballistic Missile from Beyond the Future with this just wrecks some 'holes.
da bee 15 Aug, 2014 @ 3:48am

Spawn 15 Aug, 2014 @ 12:22am
Not bad
[ALL HAIL THE TINY SNEK GOD] 14 Aug, 2014 @ 1:19pm
Even if the Tsar bomb was an overcompensation it is undeniably the most powerful nuclear weapon know to man
villainoftime 14 Aug, 2014 @ 9:58am
Not bad, gave it a go
CasRa 14 Aug, 2014 @ 4:50am
TSAR bomb was unusuable as a weapon, just a great big expenisive over compensation by the russians...
Ronnie Glyndŵr 13 Aug, 2014 @ 3:06pm
could you add diffrent nuclear bombs even as simple as radiation bombs massive fallout heavy death rate in city and destructive most building in city and tile improvments destroyed and a bit of fallout
YourNextBoyfriend 13 Aug, 2014 @ 8:25am
still waiting for them to add the bomb that makes the american nuclear bomb look like a baby toy... Tsar Bomb
Tealtime 13 Aug, 2014 @ 4:03am
implying all nukes are equally powerful

tactical nukes are much less powerful than you seem to believe
Rickyjr=CMD_JR420 12 Aug, 2014 @ 7:31pm
Sounds ok so will subscrib and try it out.
SimulatedSim 11 Aug, 2014 @ 3:45pm
I have a mod donwloaded that allows the construction of orbital nuclear missiles. These are basicly Uber missiles that instantly destory a city and have a range of 24. Not sure what the exact mod is called but if you know of it. Does your mod affect that one as well?
I think it is still thought of by the game as a nuclear weapon but just extremely more powerful.
Does your mod broadly affect everything under nuclear weapon category or is it just the specific bomb and nuclear missile? if its the latter then I might not download this mod since it wouldn't work.
KFCs Low Prices 11 Aug, 2014 @ 2:00pm
bewhere of GANDI!!!!!
Mingos 10 Aug, 2014 @ 9:44am
IKR this mod rocks thanks vertani
TheHamster97 9 Aug, 2014 @ 4:52am
I just found my favourite mod
Vertani  [author] 7 Aug, 2014 @ 9:20am
Uranium costs are unchanged; only production costs are increased. If you want to test it to see how it plays, I recommend starting a game in the Atomic Era.
TheEsotericFox 6 Aug, 2014 @ 12:33am
So how much uranium will you need to build a nuckler missile and bomb when the mod is enabled?
Vertani  [author] 4 Aug, 2014 @ 12:24pm
Yes, it's compatible with basic Civ V, Gods & Kings, Brave New World, and most other mods as well.
Brandherre 3 Aug, 2014 @ 6:05pm
does this work with BNW?
