Before Ideology came out, I needed to use the SeedsPlease mod to get seeds for trees to grow them, but now with the Guaranlan tree and its pods, I can reverse engineer those mechanics instead to simplify all the code and make it easier for the subscribers. My old PC wouldn't let me code C# but hopefully this one will.
Out of game, I'm dealing with serious stuff right now that's only been getting worse instead of better, so I don't have time to keep working on the next update, no matter how much I hate saying that.
and im left with the ghost table on the cursor but when i click to place nothing happens>
i'm also on 1.3 with lots of other mods, any suggestions?
What's there now: The original trees, which won't spawn, the walls that glow if you make it with tiberium, and some domesticated event trees that you can't get the seeds for.
I'm making it so you can get the seeds next, so you can cut down an anima or garuanlen, get special wood, and turn that into a seed to grow a domesticated version.
If it does work, let me know. I'm still trying to get this POS PC to let me build C#.
Good news: I finished physical therapy and have use of my left arm again! Yay for typing speed!
Good news: My old computer crapped out, which is where all my code and art was for this mod.
Bad news: My 10 year old computer was better than this brand new piece of crud is, even after I upgraded it.
Good news: Jecrell updated his own Cults, and Sarg Bjornsen updated Alpha Animals!

Good thing I did frequent updates. I'm going to redownload the mod, and make new art, and also have been thinking of redesign direction. There's a thing I want to do, but I want subscriber opinions first before I even pretend to bother.
Rainbeau's mod makes random wild versions of vanilla plants and some trees. He quit modding, but his mods still work thanks to fans. Do you guys want me to include his trees, too? The fruit trees will do something the other tree types don't, but I won't say what.
I guess I'll just try to figure everything else out in the meantime. You do your best to get better before retuning to the mod.
I've been having issues in RL both medically and with my PC, and I'm trying to get all that sorted out so I can work on this more. Once I do, I'll update everyone like I was doing before.
Once this new PC is set up and I get help again to make sure I set it up right, I'll be able to address this. It's number 2 on my list of 'dang it just get this to work already'.
* oh no I jinxed myself probably
Yeah it's mostly about designing so it's balanced right now. Like, I don't think anyone wants "POOF YOU HAVE 50 ANIMA GRASS!" stuff. So I have to redesign the balance effect.
Can’t wait to see what comes. 🥳
Basically I have to remove my mod from my mod, and start from scratch since there were so many updates to the source mods, 1.3 update, and DLC coming out. It'll be slower development going forward, but it will have far less potential of throwing errors, and shouldn't require any dependencies or DLCs.
Thanks in advance for any info. Would love to know if I can use this mod or have to let it go, because it tickles my curiosity.
Also I learned something odd. Without editing any of my code at all, I unhooked both DLC. The guaranlen seed couldn't be sown. With the DLC active, it could. So I have to figure out something...
My plan is to make the Guaranlen and Anima trees go off "Needs" and not Meditation in the same way the DLC does, so having the DLCs is a good idea and enhances everything, but isn't necessary. This is going to require a lot of planning on my part before I can start to write more code.
But worry not. Once I figure that out, I'm planning on rapid development.
I really hate Ideology, and was hoping that it would do certain things that it doesn't do. As it stands now, I have to fix how bad the 1.3 and DLC are so I can continue to playtest my mod. Let's hope I can learn the C# as fast as possible!
Also as I'm working more on this (I am!) I can already see that there's a good chance it can use, but not require Royalty.
It requires Seeds Please due to me not having figured out how to reverse-engineer her code to make trees unable to be planted or even show up in the growing list unless you have a seed, which is important for the story progression I'm working into the mod.
The next update I have done, but I want to add a bit to it before I upload. So far runs with no errors! It changes the tiberium crystals so random ruin walls aren't made out of them upon new city spawn. If a city has them still standing, they can be deconstructed for the crystals without issue.
The tiberium-only walls and doors glow. I'm going to wait to upload until I get the tiberium floor tiles working right.
