I liked the concept of this one but the signature move was really fiddly: https://i.imgur.com/Kkl3LYS.jpeg

Nice chamber. Had to come back a second time before I 'got it'.
nock 17 apr, 2018 @ 6:27
Nice job. I have seen a different way to solve it, which seems like is more intended after playing the Advanced version.

Awesome mate! Yourself are well on the ranks of Ben77, Azorae and Mevious, must say. :steamhappy:

Great puzzle. Went down the wrong route for a while, but then saw the light :)
K7 Avenger 10 jan, 2018 @ 6:27
Very nice chamber. Clever use of the piston. I did get stuck in the ceiling when I pushed myself up with the lightbridge to walk over to the exit, so I had you use noclip there.

Pure logic ! Thanks for creating

nice little trick with the cubes. really fun map!
tu7650x 6 dec, 2015 @ 16:37
Excellent work BSNSS, the smoking, shorting monster cube was a nice touch. Both original and a fun surprise. Loved it. On my first attempt I somehow got stuck in the ceiling after "light bridge climbing" to the height required to cross over to the exit.
zwan33 16 nov, 2015 @ 13:50
Great puzzle! There were some glitches with the laser cube, which starts to turn slightly on its own while the other cube is lifted to breakt its path.

A solution on YouTube would be appreciated. Looks like my experience is the same as Steveo's. Portal 2 may have been updated and changed a behavior needed in this puzzle.
Petutski 17 okt, 2015 @ 19:33
Great map with tricky logic! Thanks!
Steveo 25 feb, 2015 @ 9:40
I can't do it..... RecktorRocks your method does not work for me, I can't get portals where you did. Really frustrating, just like srs bsnss last map I tried... can't do it.
piotr_mil 30 jun, 2014 @ 22:14
Based on Simplicity, and as a result pretty simple. Too bad one cannot carry the cube through the other end of the chamber.
lfairban 4 jun, 2014 @ 13:19
Not too hard, fun though.
GraveNoX 24 maj, 2014 @ 17:26
Amazing idea!
dire.fcs 28 mar, 2014 @ 6:40
Great map!

You did better than you think you did. I enjoyed it.
ZAEROS 5 mar, 2014 @ 5:00
Good fun map, Not too easy but enjoyed a lot, Thank you.
gooberspace 8 feb, 2014 @ 10:55
that was sooooooooooo satisfying
Rector 7 feb, 2014 @ 16:16
Mmm nice puzzle but I didn't use some of the mechanics.
Here's my playthrough:

Thumbs up! Thanks for mapping!
Cheers! :)

Wow! That was great. I love how a new challenge came up every step. The visuals were very nicely done, also. Keep up the good work!
LPChip 5 feb, 2014 @ 13:00
Wow, this is a really nice map. Looks great, nice puzzle too. I did cheat a bit in the end though. I couldn't see how else to solve it, but maybe it was designed to be solved like this.

Here's my blindrun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Otd4z4UcTDk
Equinox FR 4 feb, 2014 @ 15:42
Great, thumbs up, thanks for the map.
Andi 3 feb, 2014 @ 12:38
Great chamber. It had me stumped for awhile. Thumbs up.

Would you like to try my latest?

Very nice! It was easy but fun, thanks for creating!
Mitch McWiggins 3 feb, 2014 @ 9:31
I hadn't read XLR8br's comment until now. Yes, that's what I did. The franken didn't always drop in the same place; took three tries.
srs bsnss  [skapare] 3 feb, 2014 @ 1:12
@| \_/ () In due course, my friend. I'm working on one at the moment, though I can't estimate when it'll be done.

@stormsend Most people posted a video *because* they didn't use the lift, actually.

@XLR8br @Mitch McWiggins Hmm, it shouldn't be possible to solve it any other way. That cube dropper solution is actually really clever though, I'll note that down. Mitch, did you use the same method?
Mitch McWiggins 2 feb, 2014 @ 22:05
Wow, the design and puzzle difficulty are great, like your other maps. Love these brain teasers. I didn't need the piston platform lift to solve it. Fun, thanks. Here's my latest if you get a chance. http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=223838777
XLR8br 2 feb, 2014 @ 13:38
Not yet. It's possible to position laser beam under franken cube dropper and then fizzle franken cube.
stormsend 2 feb, 2014 @ 13:01
It was a fun map. Made me do a lot of thinking. Watched several videos. Am I the only one to use the lift in the solution. Real nice looking chamber. Great job. Thanks.
Twenty Four 2 feb, 2014 @ 11:47
I love your maps! you actually have to figure something out. my brain cells thank you.
| \_/ () 2 feb, 2014 @ 7:37
AWESOME! as always. I still want to play another one of your art therapy styled puzzles...please...
srs bsnss  [skapare] 2 feb, 2014 @ 5:44
V2 is now up, and hopefully will resolve any lift-skipping solutions.
josepezdj 1 feb, 2014 @ 3:09
Another great map! But I think I didn't do completely as intended, since I never used the lift...

Solution

Thanks for creating!

Cheers!

CamStudio is freeware, Fraps isn't.
wildgoosespeeder 31 jan, 2014 @ 22:21
Fraps isn't free but it has the best results as long as you have a decent computer. CamStudio is a close second, although I do have some framerate issues. I'd say any computer past 2009 with NVIDIA GeForce, GT or GTX series prefered (not sure with ATI/AMD graphics) and at least a dual-core CPU at 2Ghz+ will get you decent results with Fraps, at least running Portal 2 in 640x480 resolution, which I compress with Windows Movie Maker 2.6 that is Vista/7/8 compatible (highest resolution that WMM2.6 can do is 480p mode). Getting the latest Windows Live Movie Maker will allow for HD output. Windows Movie Makers are all freeware.
srs bsnss  [skapare] 31 jan, 2014 @ 21:47
@wildgoosespeeder I think that's a good idea. I record demos for some maps, but they're a bit cumbersome. I don't know any good (and free) recording software though, any ideas?
wildgoosespeeder 31 jan, 2014 @ 13:14
I think I did similar to Gemarakup to get to the exit by jumping and shooting a portal mid-jump to redirect the light bridge and get a little higher. It is a nifty trick but to me feels borderline cheating even though it is not.

One thing I noticed about your maps is that you don't give us a solution video how to solve it. It isn't only useful to help stumped people solve the tests but it is useful to compare a player's complete playthrough with your intended solution. That is how I judge if it felt like I found something unintentionally. Without a solution video, I am only guessing if I solved it unintentionally. I know you have 200+ maps but do it for the more recent stuff.
Sejievan 31 jan, 2014 @ 4:23
Very Nice =D, loved the design is very cool to look and the puzzle is very enjoyable, also, can you give some tips in puzzle design? (on how to come up with good puzzles) i'm trying to improve my skills and some tips would be very helpful
Prototype 31 jan, 2014 @ 2:24
My blindrun I also didn't use the lift.
Iggy 30 jan, 2014 @ 22:01
I think you have some effect trigger sitting just below the cube dropper that could use a tweak, because when I hold the cube up to it the thing spits up an effect and it gets released from my grip. Just thought you should know.
🍪 Anna 30 jan, 2014 @ 19:02
Awesome map! You got me thinking for a while; only to come up with a nice ingenious solution! Absolute recommend!
HMW 30 jan, 2014 @ 7:29
I like it when you can go anywhere in a map and there are plenty of white walls, and it's still a puzzle. Good job!
Stuntmanmyke 29 jan, 2014 @ 11:24
Good one ! Loved the ideas and broken Franken !
Gemarakup 29 jan, 2014 @ 9:21
I don't think it's a problem. I just think it wasn't used in the game. The sixence DLC uses bridge lifting, except that they move portals up with the controller .
srs bsnss  [skapare] 29 jan, 2014 @ 8:22
@Gemarakup As much as I wish it didn't have to be, bridge jumping is part of the intended solution .
Gemarakup 29 jan, 2014 @ 7:22
This is good! I felt like I found an unintended solution lifting myself with the bridge helped me .
