This is sad to hear, but hope you'll be able to come back to this at some point! Good luck!)

Hi MACEDONIA IS GREEK, unfortunately at the moment it looks like I'm going to be stuck under other projects before I can come back to this mod. If you know anyone that would like to continue development, please get them in touch and I'll be glad to transfer all the work files I have if they want to continue the project!

will you update this mod?
Slav 5. okt. 2021 kl. 15:16
This would be great! My personal preference in such mods is flavor (both gameplay impacting, and not). Stuff like events/modifiers/decisions for capturing cities, allying with certain nations, being at war with someone, etc. Different paths in focuses allowing you pick as many different options as possible.

Things like custom models - I personally play with camera pretty high up, so I rarely see those.

But as I said, this is all personal preference, and you focus on what you enjoy doing most! Have fun working on it :)

Hi Slav. If I had time, I'd love to return to this mod. Maybe soon in the coming months I'll update it if I get a chance! It's nice to see people are still enjoying it. What would you like to see added? Thanks for the comment!
Slav 1. okt. 2021 kl. 11:53
Hey Alfie, I did enjoy playing this mod quite a bit, and would be happy to see it continue. While current Greek focus tree does indeed add Byzantium, it is quite different from what you did, so it does make sense in my head to continue development of your vision.

Ultimately though this is up to you, if you wish to continue or not. Best of luck to you anyways!

Hope I am writing this not too late, and you'll see this comment :)

keep working on this mod

Update for anyone reading this, the mod has essentially been made redundant by the addition of DLC from HOI that adds Byzantium as a playable formable nation. Whilst I'm now in the position to return to working on this mod, I'm unsure as to whether it'd be useful, as HOI (In my headcanon) saw this mod and stole my idea (I am joking, obviously). If you guys are overly keen to see more work on this mod, drop a comment letting me know, and if it gets enough support, I'll get cracking on working on it again. Thanks!

Hi CrunchyVegetables,

I've been working on this mod a while now and it's not dead, I'm just busy with University work and I'm also working on an extremely exciting collaboration mod that'll be coming in the next 6 months or so. For now, progress on updates for the mod and changes is on hold, but when I get the chance I'm slowly making additions and changes to the mod in my free time so that when I feel it's ready for a new update it'll get one.

is this mod dead?
elbaf 16. nov. 2020 kl. 5:26
could you update please? ivr got error when i try to run this mod
RandomEdits 22. okt. 2020 kl. 6:42
Can you make it so that when you form byzantine through the new Greece focus tree that this nation would replace it?
Vari 5. okt. 2020 kl. 11:38
It seems that Byzantine doesn't have a claim or core on Zara when it conquers Yugoslavia, Only Greece has claim on Dodecanese, and could we have a claim on Cyprus on later updates?
Slav 2. okt. 2020 kl. 8:08
Oh, and another bug report (since I don't see a dedicated forum for it), and one is an actual bug - if Turkey accepts return of istambul, when you declare war later, same event about capturing Istambul and ending the war would fire immidiately (as if you declared war for just Istambul). Luckily, war does not end, so this bug is not too critical, but it did give me a scare :)

Sounds good, it would be great if you can share what you have so far! I usually tend to wait till the full release, but after playing the mod, I am quite excited to check out even a bit now!

No need to find excises, it was a pretty small issue I noticed, and most people would probably not even read the decision description :)

Good luck with your other mod! This one is perfectly playable right now, and the biggest thing I could think of it could need is additional flavour (like more events for different situations Purple Phoenix might find itself in). But it is still better than most of the new mods I've played

Thanks Slav,
It was called "Shadows in the Darkness" but unfortunately has not been released yet. If you are interested I can send you excerpts from the parts I have completed so far?

Issues with history might be apparent in some of the writing, I spent a lot of time writing text late at night so I wouldn't be surprised if there are some mistakes here and there! Progress on updating this mod to add in more new and exciting features is still going on, but is slowed significantly because I am currently working on a total conversion mod which will be roughly the size of the TNO Mod! Once the project is completed I'll make sure to iron out any issues like that.

Thanks for the feedback!

Oh, and what's the name of the book that you mentioned you wrote? I love Roman and Byzantine history, so I will definitely consider getting a book based on a modern revival of those good old empires :)
Slav 29. sep. 2020 kl. 7:22
Thanks for the mod! I love mods making small countries semi-op (like, give them powerful enough buffs to make playing them viable, but still able to fail), plus quite a bit of flavour. One tiny-tiny thing I noticed though was, the description for the Recore the New Capital decision - it stated the Byzantion/Constantinople/Istambul was controlled by Turks for thousands of years, which is not true, it was "only" hundreds, since 15th century (and even hundreds since the fourth crusade, where it fell from Byzantine/Roman hands for the first time). Just letting out a nitpicking self for a bit :)

Nice mod. But theres should be an ability to core Crimea
Alfred the Greatest  [ophavsmand] 27. aug. 2020 kl. 7:07
Hi CringeTrap,

It sounds like the issue you are having is a compatibility issue with the mod. Try checking the following:

- Your HOI4 is updated to the most recent update (Sometimes games can bug and not automatically update when a patch is released, so try using the "Check for updates" option in the game's library properties).
- Another mod is incompatible with this one (Sometimes modders edit core files of the game which another mod needs to use, I haven't edited core files apart from a few lines to fix errors with the vanilla game, so try only using one mod at a time).
- It's a cache issue (Rarely, the steam software fails to load in certain sections of mods for some reason, I've had the issue before on Kaiserreich, so try just restarting the game).

Hopefully this helped! If nothing changes after you try these things, send me a DM and I'll try to find out the specifics of what's going wrong so I can fix the game for you.

Have a great day!

I started HOI4 with the mod enabled but nothing is changed and even when trying to use the console for ''event'' byzantium.1 and that failed

Thanks for the feedback so far guys, even if it just says "It was fun", every comment helps me update and change the mod so that its the best possible experience for you to play. Here's my thoughts:

- Generals and field marshals are easily done, it's just a matter of finding suitable portraits for them, so finding apt ones might take me a bit especially if you play late game and want loads of unique ones.

- Unfortunately, the issue with custom-made equipment and units such as the Titan-1 Maneater is that the core code that I'd need to make the icons appear on-map is not yet available, so when the next game update is released I'll check to see if the code I need to edit is available, and I'll get on it.

- The mod is actually based on a book I wrote a year or so back, so adding lore and detail on the origin of the mod is an absolute can-do.

Hope you're having fun!

Many thanks,
A.J., Mod Producer

Not badly made, sadly just another power fantasy mod.
Озрен Солдатовић 26. aug. 2020 kl. 5:28
Hey it's me again. Can you add generals and field marshals? And also the Titan tanks dont have a field icon. Had a blast!! :steamhappy:
Anintus 26. aug. 2020 kl. 5:20
Could you add more events, and like the lore behind why he is able to take over Greece in the first place
Had blast playing this though, awesome mod
