If you're looking to replicate this effect, it's quite simple to do so, it may even be possible with DHS, but I can't vouch for that.
If you are interested in the code part that takes care of that, check out the levelscript, it's pretty well documented.
Dragon's reach is silly but I can't wait to see an endless version of this mod
You can set the difficulty down to blaze through it and you'll see how long it actually is if you want to track your progress with higher difficulties.
>>Or perhaps a better question would be:
2) How long does it usually take to complete the mode?
FIGHT!
:-)
sorry for the wild goose chase! i'm still fairy new to the game - played through all the campaigns in a long binge then dived into writing my mod, which became an obsession - so thanks for getting me to actually get back to playing for a bit, had almost forgotten how satisfying that roundhouse kick is :-)
ooh, side scrolling fighter with weapons, and stealth kills, ooh i'm so gonna have to obsess over some of that lol :-)
ok - i'm way too excitable for an adult :-)
also, feel free to delete my comments about the blur since it actually is a feature and not a bug - for real (and how often is that phrase actually used sincerely :-))
anyway - kind of got the bit between my teeth now - gonna beat this level on expert! :-)
I can pin it to 0 but the normal DOF sharpens fast enough.
Maybe you're getting that confused with the blur/DOF effect that happens when you get hit and lose health/ko shield? Sadly this is not easily changeable through the level script (it doesn't accept it being pinned to zero and still blurs it) and would require a modified character script or altering the game config.
Of course that brings other issues with it, you'll be forced to play on this character script and it's another component to keep updated, backwards compatibility, ... you know the drill.
Since this is an actual game mechanic (blurring it out because you got hit) I'll keep it the way it is but add a note to the mod description on how to turn it off.
That way people wouldn't have to touch their settings, I'd just flat out disable DOF for the camera.
Yeah, Drizzt, I playedtested the map after altering the enemies on full difficulty to check if it was possible and I was grinding for 80 minutes straight and continuously decreasing the enemy strengh / hp amount to even get to the boss. So don't feel bad, it's really hard!
Btw, the score does not scale with the game speed or difficulty settings (didn't find a way to read that out of the current game instance) so theoretically it is easier to get a higher score on lower difficulty levels but for comparison always post with the played settings like you did :)
I didn't notice and blurry DOF effects (I have that disabled in the settings), but I'll take a look and try to fix it.
Thank you very much for the feedback!
also, teeny bit of feedback if that's ok - i noticed the camera does blurry depth of field stuff at points - i guess you probably know that already and it's a byproduct of something you needed to do to get the view as it is (or maybe it's focussing on the bodies as the camera moves across them?) - but if not then yeah, something the judges may be meanies about :-)
doesn't detract from the fun, since it comes back in focus quickly, but thought would be helpful yet annoying neighbour and point it out :-)
and thanks again for bringing the awesome! :-)
awesome - somewhere between that 50% and 100% difficulty lies my level :-)
and maybe, after i play legit for a bit, might have a go with my slo-mo mod and see how that goes (yes i have no shame about plugging my own mod - did it when i commented on Rabbotrix so is only fair :-P :-))
anyway - enough waffle from me - awesome level and i'd love to see what other magic you can weave (and i may try to use my entry level scripting brain to see if i can cast a spell or two)
thanks again and it's gonna be great competition! :-)
i have to admit i played on wimpy hardcore level (your description scared my little bunny rabbit socks off :-)) - but at that level i got 71354
gonna crank it up to expert and see what happens
but definitely an awesome level - tekken force mode was always my favourite bit of tekken 3 (and tekken in general) - always used Hwoarrang coz of those awesome kick combos! but it was always coz i loved the side scrolling fighters of the 80's and 90's, but tekken had the characters with the many moves and combos (instead of punching all the way through like in double dragon 2) - so it was the perfect fighter for me
and you captured it wonderfully
so thank you and congrats on making a wonderful piece of nostalgic digital artistry that is going to be involved in a great competition with the Rabbotrix - and now that you 2 have got me hooked with your two awesome mods i guess i'm gonna be playing all the entries! :-)
