Woah, that was really cool !

And just like that I have completed every map of yours. I started playing in about 2014/2015 before moving onto other games. I would always come back to Portal 2 though for your puzzles. Ten years later and I am still playing Demon maps. They have given me countless hours of joy. I'm sure if I loaded into the first map on your logic puzzles collection, I would be stumped as if it were my first time playing. I can't wait to replay these maps for years to come. THANK YOU!:steamhappy::p2wheatley::p2turret::p2orange::p2cube::p2blue::p2aperture:

Very good puzzle. It took me a week or two to solve it

Blindrun
A nice break from the harder maps I’ve recently played. Incredibly unique concept though. As you’ll see in the video you can weave to the light bridge platform from the grates when you bounce and it’s not even that hard, so there is an exploit here but I challenged myself to do everything as intended. Or, at least, how I feel “intended” would be.

Difficulty: 5/10
Design: 9.5/10
Enjoyed: 7.75/10

Well, I didn't solve it exactly as intended, but still happy I reached the exit. Very nice challenge.
Gordon Freeman 16 Nov, 2023 @ 4:33am
Don't cover the area where the exit door is with blue gel. The game is getting softlocked. Even if you clean it, it doesn't fix, the remaining particles of the blue gel prevent the cube from coming exit spot

I saw @Andy T added it to their favourites, so I looked at the map, saw that I had already given it a  but hadn't left a comment, for some reason. Anyway, really enjoyable map to play, have another  After completing it, I a found an exploit, but I see that others have informed you. I hope you are putting your BA to good use :)

Done, this is a tough one, one wrong move and it takes ages to rollback to make the right move.

Very good use and re-use of a small number of elements, very enjoyable. Welcome back and congrats on your degree.

Nice chamber. I have a personal rule that, as soon as I realize i'm no longer having fun and the game has become a chore, I shut it down. So I probably got through a third of it, maybe? It's fantastic work, but this is not the life I want for myself.

how the hell do i do this?

Excellent. Thanks for creating.

Great puzzle, keep it up.

took me without exaggerating an entire hour to figure out, very well designed map, complex but with so few elements

Such a fun test. Seriously clever and super enjoyable. I love how it forces you to think of the light bridge as a wall rather than a bridge.

Nice map, thumbs up!

An excellent map. I was overthinking. Big Thumbs up, Demon.
Miami Mike 20 Nov, 2020 @ 4:20pm
I just replayed this and discovered something interesting: A couple of times I launched the cube to the exit door and then found that it wasn't there waiting for me. I finally realized that it was because I had accidentally gotten some repulsion gel on the exit door and it was bouncing the cube back into the goo. Then I realized what the dripping water ("cleansing gel") is for. It's to clean the gel off the door so that the cube will stay there!
lfairban 22 Oct, 2020 @ 12:28pm
Great puzzle, challenging but not overly difficult. The lightbridge usage is very cool even though I usually don't like bounce gel on bridges as I usually explore and reload a lot.

Congratulations on your graduation. BoA in English Literature, you better be real good or have a lot of rich uncles. Good Luck!
Jinx136 18 Oct, 2020 @ 12:36pm
The name "Shieldbearer" really matches the theme of this level- this was both stylish, and enjoyable to play!

The only negative-ish criticism that I would like to give is that there is a small corner next to the exit, and at first glance one may think there's a portalable surface behind it, which makes them plan ahead accordingly. I had to jump in there for the sake of exploration to figure out that this wasn't the case. Nothing major, but I'm saying it anyway in case you would like to know.

All the same, this level is a masterpiece, thanks for the effort you put into this level, and for the fun that I've had!

(PS: Congratulations on getting 500 followers, as well as graduating from University. I hope that all goes well for you in the future. :steamhappy:)
metadavid 10 Oct, 2020 @ 7:45pm
Well done with both: the army of 500 followers ;-) and your BA. I imagine you will be snapped up by any company with more than half a brain who needs a sharp-shooter to solve all their business/life puzzles for them :)
metadavid 10 Oct, 2020 @ 6:12pm
Great puzzle. Thanks for designing. Took me a while to work though that one.

Masterful.

Took awhile because of my small ape brain. Very fun and made me think.

I had so much fun playing this! Great job as always! Congrats on the 500 followers and about graduating - I'm half-way to graduating myself and this year I feel like I've accomplished nothing, so man I wish I was in your shoes so badly! It's nice knowing there's someone out there having similar interests and difficulties in life.

Congratulations on your degree! I remember my own (though nearly 3 decades ago) fondly--though for me I had to go on much farther in order to be able to do _anything_ in my field...the BS was just a nice piece of paper to hang on the wall.

Enjoyed the chamber. As others, I was able to avoid using the cube on the "floor-plate dropping" button. On my first run, I had managed to get some jump gel on a small portion of the standard floor which allowed me to just jump and place portals beneath the dropper. Completing the puzzle but never needing the button made me realize I had done it wrong and I looked here to the comments and solution. On a second run, I see what it is for and when needed, but was able to place the portals in the air during the faith plate/ bridge bounce--and if I can do it, it isn't that hard to do. Like Miami Mike, I never knew a gelled bridge was bouncy on both sides:winter2019happybulb:

Finally found time to play this puzzle, was pretty nice! Gg on graduating as well
SP2G50000 5 Aug, 2020 @ 11:21am
Great map Demon. I especially like at the beginning of the puzzle where I realized I didn't need the cube to get the bounce gel.
Miami Mike 4 Aug, 2020 @ 5:24pm
Awesome test! After 9 years of playing Portal 2, I learned something today: When you paint a light bridge with repulsion gel, it bounces from both sides.
jeffrey epstein 4 Aug, 2020 @ 9:36am
Nice map design, and versatile usage of the blue gel. Every move made felt to be pretty intentional, and I believe all game elements were used(except maybe the faith plate in the last room, although that may have been a failsafe for something that I didnt experience in the puzzle). Regardless, very nice chamber!
Leo 30 Jul, 2020 @ 2:14pm
A very interesting and creative map! Really good and novel use of elements and space. It felt refreshing and I always enjoy that. I don't know if it was intentional but when I flung the cube over to the exit area it landed directly on the exit button. That was pretty awesome.
Congrats on graduating, if you're as talented and confident at what you do IRL as you are when it comes to designing puzzles, I'm sure you're going to do just fine in professional life :)
Oblivious Owl 30 Jul, 2020 @ 10:54am
Congrats on graduation! I've recently graduated, too--but only from high school and not college.

I did find an exploit that's fairly easy to full off--where you can shoot a portal to the surface underneath the gel dropper while in mid-air after using the faith plate, negating the use of a button (the one in the same area as the faith plate). Otherwise, great puzzle!

Fantastic Puzzle Demon - Welcome back!

Also congrats on all your achievements, it's been a really tricky time for everyone and I can't imagine how hard the added pressure doing your final year at uni without full support must have been. Congrats on your Graduation though and the 500 Followers :)

Great puzzle! I don't know if it was an intended move, but at some point I put some blue gel on the floor in front of the entrance, then jumped from the platform above the entrance, bounced on gel, and landed on the platform with the light bridge
Demon Arisen  [author] 27 Jul, 2020 @ 2:55pm
Updated -- should be exploit-free now! See change notes for more info
Demon Arisen  [author] 25 Jul, 2020 @ 10:45am
Thanks for the comments and kind words everyone :) Glad you all enjoyed it. Planning on an update soon to fix the few remaining exploits, but the publishing bug is causing woes on that front. I'll see what I can do.

congratulations on getting your degree and what must have been an extremely challenging final year! great map!!

Very nice, and welcome back. Took me a while to get started, thought I was trapped for a bit before realizing I wasn't at all. My solution was similar to the video posted by @camerson1313 but there seems to be more than one way to skin this cat. Thanks for mapping!

Interesting and unique map. I'm sure there are several ways to solve this one. Thanks for your work and welcome back!

dcook 21 Jul, 2020 @ 1:04am
really nice enjoyable map.. linear.. logical.. no points to get stuck.. felt very natural.. really liked the use of the LB and gel. very creative. Thanks for mapping. :-)
joe98 20 Jul, 2020 @ 10:30pm
There are some maps where I have 2 portals in the floor and some gel is bouncing up and down between. This was not intentional. This time I tried to do it on purpose and I can't do it!
camerson1313 20 Jul, 2020 @ 1:46pm
Good combinations of gel, faith plate, and glass panels. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXTeo0wvbc4&feature=youtu.be

A very interesting puzzle indeed. This is one of those times where I really wish I recorded a blind run or something, I ended up messing around a ton in here, between trying odd air strafe attempts and gel juggling I think I still solved it relatively intended, and enjoyed it. This is a well constructed and innovative gel puzzle.
Jade BGE 20 Jul, 2020 @ 12:52pm
Congratulations! And what an awesome map! I fumbled on a few steps but finally made it. Super entertaining. Happy to see you again and much thanks!
Demon Arisen  [author] 20 Jul, 2020 @ 10:22am
@Dolphiner Darn, thanks for the heads up. That's definitely unintended. Should be able to fix it by putting grating over the cleansing gel surface.
