But I can't find any more intel.
In addition to the basic locations marked on the map, I collect intel from various places such as airfields and plane crash sites.
I've also been to the scavenger outpost in Hafen, but there's only a bloody skull and no intel anywhere.
Am I missing something?
Or are there any anti rad pills?
Even if I search the trading settlement, I can't find anti-rad pills.
Thanks for the advice, I'll try and do that more for my future missions! Most of my writing is done by the seat of my pants, so everything's done as it comes to mind, which includes plot-lines and character details. It can allow for an emotional or more interesting story, but it comes across wonky in a mission style like in Arma 3.
What do you do with all the Intel you've collected. Doesn't seem to be any way to communicate it back to whoever sent you there to gather it. Suicide missions are one thing, but pointless suicide missions?
One way to handle generating the story lines is to start with the end state and step backwards to the beginning.
Start with point 'Z' where the story ends. From there step back to point 'Y' and leave the note that directs attention to point 'Z' ... then back to point 'X' with directions to point 'Y' - and so on all the way back to point 'A' if you need to.
When I was in the Army we called it reverse planning. What is the end state mission objective? What happens just before that? Before that and before that?
It's a timetable in reverse that you then brief forward. We're going to do this, then we're going to do this, which lets us do the other until we get to Mission Complete .
It's been a while since I messed around on Arma 3, I can't really remember what I added, but there's definitely a few issues with it. When I'm on it next I'll check it out and see what's up, thanks for pointing those out!
I agree, some of the storylines are light on the endings, they're really just things to follow and do. though, on some of my other missions, you might find that some do lead somewhere. I won't spoil anything ;)
Sometimes the AI on this map is a little funky, especially in cars, and I've seen that happen myself. Some of the storylines are also kind of weird and I found it tricky to figure out how to write to where the next one was, especially since it's such a big map.
The UGVs gave me massive trouble too. This map is basically like going from normal to very hard compared to my other maps just with the UGVs in it.
Thanks again for the feedback, it's much appreciated, and I'm glad you're enjoying it nonetheless!
I've been enjoying this. It's not too difficult for an old man with slow reflexes.
Haven't encountered the UAVs yet, but the UGVs are driving me nuts. Not that hard to hide from them, but I watch them & figure out their patrol patterns to set up a mine ambush but then they wander off somewhere else and don't come back. I've wasted the mine.
I've also encountered a number of Ravage style truck mounted raiders that apparently spawned without a trigger. You can walk right up to them and get in the trucks & they don't do anything. A couple seem to be stuck inside where the whatsit got loose if you want to check it out.
I'll call it the "whatsit that got loose" to avoid spoilers
I like the story lines, but the two I've managed to follow to the end had kind of lame endings ..."We found a boat & got away, good luck!"
A couple of the others are kind of vague & I'm having trouble figuring out where they lead to next.
I have encountered the triplets & one set of quadruplets. They don't interact, but I suspect they have something to do with the UGVs (and probably the UAVs) & maybe with the whatsit that got loose. They do interact with the zombies. I watched a group of them got chomped by a horde of zombies.
I've been enjoying it. It's a good scenario.
Just spent the evening on it, but I think it's dead now. Did not come across any drones, or any enemy AI. Nothing was going on.
Just trying this one out. What's the point of the unarmed trios I keep bumping into. They don't seem to have any function?
Arma's a tough game by its nature, so the drones are already going to be hard. Plus, it's part of the narrative that they're there. Adaptation is key, also not drawing attention to yourself. I'll tone down the loot though, I had a hunch that'd be too high.
Thanks for the feedback!
Then the UGVs and UAVs drones... are just terrible, i started this mission like 10 times because in the beginning they came around and shot everything to ash in that one town, cars, zombies, people.. just empty then and after 15 min looting i got a head shot from one of the "Drones" (tank) in my face through a window i was passing, the tank was like 1 km away..
Thanks for the feedback though!
Anyways I just really dislike the winter variation of this map, because most leaf trees have way to white leafs in winter... Leaf tress have no leafs in winter!! It's a big game breaker for me and just wanted ask if you could do a summer version of this mission, PLEASE! ^^
